“This is the first Punch cigar I've smoked in quite a wee while, certainly the first one of 2010. The Uppercut Toro is, in my view, an entirely worthwhile cigar with an excellent draw, excellent burning characteristics and excellent flavour. I don't smoke granola bars (stealing that line from Bill Cosby) so I don't know if the thing tastes like nuts, huckleberries or shoe leather, but I think it tastes like a very good cigar. Even the retail price isn't excessive at around $7, but it does take it out of the 'several a day' class, at least for me. I do plan to put several in the box, however. Do yourself a favour and try it.”
“Wow! I just might have a new favorite here, though the price will keep it reserved for special ocassions (thanks to CI though for keeping it within reach). Ometepe, OMG! I don't know if the Ometepe binder contributes to this cigar's unusual, but earthy and pleasant aroma and taste, but Uppercut has something different going for it that I just can't put my finger on. Solid burn throughout with spiciness that came then went and then came back again. I've liked Punch cigars in the past, but this was truly and literally a finger-burner for me.”
“I am smoking the Gran Corona right now and I have to say that the Punch Uppercut is a real knock-out. As a lover of Ometepe tobacco, this cigars is chalk full of it. This is Punch's best creation to date and I am quite impressed. The cigar is a nice medium body with bready wood flavors and sweet leather and cocoa. Construction is good and the wrapper is simply beautiful. The burn has something to be desired as the wrapper needs a touch up now and then so keep the lighter close by (my humi has been running a little high so that might be the problem). Bottom line, when you pick up a few Uppercuts, get a five pack (or a box) cause you will want to burn a few now and save a couple for later. I give this cigar a solid 90. If you like good cigars at a reasonable price, these are a must.”
“I just saw the price of a box here (of the Punch Uppercut Gran Toro) is less than $80 - which is what I paid on the bid site ... I bought it based on smoking just one from my local wine & beer store ... it was a really good, full bodied (lots of creamy smoke with an easy draw), medium strength, well made cigar, with interesting flavor (must be that Ometepe tobacco). Very tasty.”
“the aroma and flavor is very good.plenty of smoke and a tasty finish.good taste through the nose and a little complex as the flavors change throughout sweet/spicey/earthy. i'm on my second load and the consistency is there and i like the price of the toros.”
“Very rich and flavorful-complex,spicy,meaty,salty,creamy-heavy smokey white pepper in back of the throat.I love Ometepe tobacco-Punch(Uppercut) this blend is remarkable. Thanks C.I.!”
“I bought a 5-pack of these while shopping for a birthday present for someone else. They were so awesome I went back and purchased a 20 pack of robusto's. Amazing blend, just the right taste, pull, smoke and ash. I highly recommend you try one ASAP!”
“I have to Agree with (DS of PA) I had yet to have a PUNCH that I liked. notice I said "HAD". I will be getting a box.”
“I'm still new kind of new to the cigar world (I've smoke about 50 or so different gars). So far these would have to be my favorite. I've had some top shelf and some low end, and only the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 has stacked up the enjoyment of the Uppercut”
