Customer Reviews of “Puros Indios”
I can't believe that there isn't any Fan Mail on this cigar, which surely must be called a classic. Even though Pirate's Gold is probably my favorite of the Senor Reyes cigars that I have smoked, Puros Indios easily a close second, particularly if I'm in the mood for something with a little more kick. I first bought one of these from a well-estasblished tobacconist in Monterey CA, I was soon happy to find them as part of a great Reyes sampler here at CI. His cigars are for cigar lovers who want a great smoke w/o all of the hype and BS. Thank you Senor Reyes for making great cigars and thank you CI for bringing them to us at great prices!

After smoking my first Puro, I couldn't stop sniffing my shirt of this wonderful earthy aroma left on my clothes. This is easily in my top ten favorite smokes! Fire one up, sit back and let the flavors fill your senses!!

Puros Indios have always been my favorite "go to" stogies. Purchased a box of broncos for the fourth of july bb-q. thoroughly enjoyed by all who smoked 'em. Even got comments from non-smokers, who said they enjoyed the aroma!

Puros Indios was my first "favorite" cigar when I started out smoking cigars about 15 years ago. I love the earthy, leathery flavor with a hint of alfalfa and a peppery short finish. I don't get a chance to smoke these very often due to our current economic downturn, however, there are several other more affordable (for me) products in the Reyes Family Cigars catalog that can be found here for some very excellent prices...Puro Indios Veijo, Puros Indios Maxima Reserva, Pirate's Gold, Flor del Todo, et al. But, the original Puros Indios still remains my favorite - with the Cuba Aliados as a close second.

Nice flavorful cigar. Inexpensive enough to smoke every day. However, I have had some issues with very fragile wrappers...... tearing while being handled. Now, I have many other cigars in my humidor and none of them are exhibiting the same issues, so humidity seems right. Maybe this particular stick needs more/less humidity?

Tried the small Puritos and liked them so I thought I'd try the Toros. Other than the one in my hand being a bit hard on the draw it's a very nice cigar. Pretty mellow yet tasty, doesn't burn the tongue and has a very nice even burn that looks to be pretty long lasting. The ash is sturdy and white with no cracks and no hint of a bow nearly 2 inches in. I'd say these are pretty hard to beat for the price if you like a mellow smoke.

I usually smoke a full flavored smoke but these are so smooth and tasty I can't resist. First I tried the bundles that are ugly but great for the price. The box is a better constructed cigar with the same creamy, nutty, cedar, and sweet peppery flavor. Burns well with ample smoke. The wrap peels like most Puros but the taste is there. Not a bad price for a well deserved 93 rating.

The Viejo freebie box that comes with the Puros is better than the bundles. The bundles smoke like second, inconsistent and ugly. The box is leathery, peppery, very much cedar and an earthy sweetness. A much better kick and solid. Toasty, to say the least. I was going to give them away but they are a nice quality cigar. I would say medium rather than mild to medium for these surprisingly satisfying cigars.

Just tried the Gordo size. Picked it up at a shop while visiting family. That's the only size they had so I tried 1. 1 of the most awesome sticks I've ever had the pleasure to try. Burned even and consistent, started out mellow and creamy, finished with a nice rich medium flavor. Never got over heated and lasted about 1 hr 45 min. I enjoyed it so much I drove the 35 miles back to get a few more. Cigars that good only get better with some humi-time. So, I'm looking forward to the near future.

One of my favorite cigars. This medium flavor cigar not only has a great smooth and rich combination of tastes, but it is one of the best rolled cigars that I have enjoyed. I have had 3 boxes now and I keep going back to them to find it really was as good as I thought. Almost everyone smokes very easy and has a comfortable draw.

Bought a few of these. The construction is real hit or miss no matter how long they were aged. If you hit it burned perfect all the way to the end. If you miss they require constant correction. They pull on the harder side which I personally don't mind. I did have a few peel which is consistent with other reviews. You may wonder why they were given a 93? First consider the price. You should expect some flaws. Second, I haven't gotten to the flavores yet! This may be my go to cigar for the price range. The flavores were right up my ally in terms of preference. The overall taste and complexity was consistent from cigar to cigar. It starts off very very smooth and the taste becomes bold 2/3 through. Very rich tobacco flavor with some spice. Last 1/3 of the cigar I could not get enough of. The flavors blended together and smokes nice and smooth. I smoked everyone down until I hand nothing left to hold. Highly recommended for the price. Will become my low end favorite!

I have enjoyed these cigars for several years now and it is one of the best sticks out there for that price. I try to keep some on hand at all times, but my last box to almost 3 months to get....
