Decent Throwdown cigar
A great everyday cigar.

Solid bargain smokes.
These bargain smokes have a great draw and a tolerable, medium body flavor. Not full of nuances but never harsh or grassy. I'd recommend them for backup smokes to some tasty morsels you order at the same time.

Haven't had a bad cigar yet.
Every single order I've made of the Pinar del Rio overruns has been good. Some have been good, some have been outstanding, but I've never had a bad bunch of cigars.

Why I like Pinar Del Rio
I order the overruns because the price is right. And I do enjoy the flavor. This is not a top of the line but it is not at the bottom either. They have a good taste. The overruns sometimes have a different color exterior but always a enjoyable taste and flavor. The Pinar Del Rio overruns are pretty much my favorite. And your service and courteous staff keep me coming back. This is a great every day cigar

fantastic deals
It's true when CI says you don't know which variety you will receive when ordering the PDR Overruns. I usually buy the Toro size mazos, and the first few times I got cigars that had Habano wrappers and were very good. Two orders ago I bought a mazo of Toros and one of Robustos. Both had very dark Maduro wrappers, and the Toros had a pig-tail twist on the caps. The wrappers were rough looking and to the touch and had some prominent veins. Pretty wrappers don't impress me because you can't taste pretty, you taste the flavors produced by smoking the tobacco. The cigars were on the full side and very enjoyable. I had not seen or smoked this blend, so I wondered which of the PDR lineup were these cigars. I went looking thru the Big List of Brands, and I found the Seleccion 2010 smokes, and bingo, pictured was the Toro size with the dark black wrapper and pig-tail twist. I scrolled thru the reviews and I found other smokers listed the same characteristics like rough looking wrapper and prominent veins. Great cigars for a low price. My last order included a mazo of Torpedo sized cigars. They aren't as dark as the others, but definitely a nice looking Maduro wrapper. As soon as I lit one up and took a puff, I knew right away they were Reserva Limitadas which have been my most liked cigar from PDR. I have two mazos of the robusto size RLs which provide me with a very good 'yard-gar'. They were in the Clearance section and I got them during one of the 20% discount sales. Great cigars at a Great price...keep it up CI!!!

Great smoke!
What a great little cigar for when you don't have an hour or two to sit down. Great flavor with an even burn.

Great everyday cigar
My budget currently limits my choices but these cigars are flavorful even though you get varying blends depending on what's in stock. I'll continue to keep a hefty stock of them even when I can afford to expand my choices which will happen. Thanks CI for this offering!

PDR Overruns Robusto Hits The Mark
The PDR Overruns Robusto is everything you could ask for from a Cigar maker, great rich taste, lots of thick smoke (not politically correct but the self-corrected are non-cigarers) great looks and super great price. I have purchased the PDR Overruns Robustos several times and will continue. Please do not let the PDR folks read this as they might raise the price. PDR I'm yours. Norm Newport Beach, CA

Great cigar
These are really great cigars, I've had no construction or burn issues with these. Overall great cigar for the price.

Expected a little more after reading other reviews.
Taste was OK at start, better in middle, but did not finish very well. Nice burn with volumes of white smoke. However, while some cigars you tend to smoke down to the nub, not this one. Very harsh at the last one inch.

Man, I can't go on enough about this stick. Every time I toast the foot on one I think eh, ok, but does this stick ever fine tune the shorter it gets. I love this smoke. Try them. You will not be disappointed.
Got 18 holes in today. Shot a one over par 73. Haven't done that in over a year. Must have been the two PDR Overruns I had on the course.
Oops! Hit the wrong button. My second review of these sticks. Half through my first order and still completely satisfied with this smoke. I can afford more expensive sticks ( $100.00 or more for 20) but that's a hard sell to Momma! So, I will keep ordering these overruns as long as they are in stock. Frankly, I've had the expensive sticks and they are good but I like these overruns just as much. A no brainier and Momma is happy. Life is good!
Excellent stick! Excellent flavor! Excellent burn & ash! Played 36 holes today & smoked two on the course. Now having one with a glass of bourbon. Life is good!
Definitely the Habanos. Best draw of any cigar I have ever had. Silky smooth. Don't get them and save them for me please!
These half coronas got me through the winter. Very good cigar for the price.
PDR has quickly become top tier in my book, and with these prices I am happy. My only problem was that when lighting sometimes the area were the flame touches the cigar can start to blaze real quick.
I can't say enough good things about this cigar that hasn't already been said. Each one was well constructed which is difficult to find even in higher priced smokes. Getting ready to order two more bundles of the Churchills since the last ones were so great.
Got the toro size. They are maduros. I'm pretty new to the cigar experience, but these are very good cigars. Thanks CI. Just wish I knew what brand they were....
What can I say? I got the Maduro in the Robusto size. I couldn't ask for a better smoke. My palate is not yet refined enough to detect and identify the subtle tastes that many cigar reviewers describe, but I know a smooth, sweet, and creamy smoke when I have one. I've been through about 12 so far and all have been outstanding. PDR rules.
I was skeptical, but these are excellent sticks at a fantastic price. I will definitely be buying these again!
I ordered the short gordo and from the descriptions of the banded versions, I'm pretty sure it's the PDR 1878 Cubano Especial Capa Natural. They have a good burn, good construction and a nice flavor, but they are very mild and the flavor is very subtle. I usually smoke medium to full maduros, so I was a bit disappointed in the lack of strength. Mild cigar smokers should enjoy this though.
Do not buy these cigars... because I don't want them to run out because I want them. When they came in yesterday I lit one and even though they were out of a humidor during shipping, the one I lit tasted and burned flawless. I have tried to find the right cigar at a right price to not break my bank and this is the one. Honestly a great job from PDR. Beware though this is not a cigar for a new smoker. You will turn green if you are not a seasoned cigar smoker lol. But if you know your cigars and want flavor to setisfy you, then this is it.
I got a bundle of the PDR Torpedo's and I've smoked about 10 of them so far. I don't normally like to leave negative feedback, but I felt the need on these. I must have gotten a bad batch of them, cause the reviews all seem to be positive. I'm just not impressed with the burn quality or taste. I know they are pretty low priced, but I've found way too many others on this site that were much better for the same price. You never know until you try.
I bought 2 mazos of Toro's and got the 1878's. The ones I got smoke perfect every time and are one of the best cigars I ever bought. I wish they all came out this good. I am saving my 2nd Mazo for special occasions. Great flavor med smoke. The best buy ever for me. I don't hand out to many of these.
I ordered a bundle of Lanceros - lots of flavor and a great smoke! They are hard to find and in seconds almost impossible. After trying a bundle I liked them so much that I got another bundle. Very well made and the burn was smooth and the draw was not loose. I will be getting more when they run out. Arthur Philadelphia Penna.
I stopped in at a CI store to pick up a different cigar, I can honestly say I am glad they were out, because I picked up these great cigars. I am relatively new to the cigar world, and have been looking for an every day smoke. The Pinar Del Rio Overruns are now my go to cigar on a daily basis. Planning to puck up another bundle soon.
In my first two reviews on the robusto sizes I ordered, two mazos at a time, I said I thought they were the Habano Sun Grown. On my latest order I got two mazos in the toro size. I got them a few days ago, and saw these had a darker wrapper, and they were labeled 6 x 50 Habano. I pulled out one of my pdr robustos and these were definitely not the same blend. After checking the pictures and descriptions, I now know the robustos were Small Batch habanos and these toros are the Sun Grown Habanos. Both of these are fantastic cigars for the price, and I cannot see not keeping them in humidor of daily smokes. They do not taste, smell or burn like cheapy cigars, they burn true and produce an excellent ash. At the sale prices I paid on these smokes, they will definitely have a place in my humidor with the everyday 'go to' smokes. Great cigars and at a fantastic CI price, you have nothing to lose.
These cigars are excellent! (I bought the robusto) I had a couple that had an uneven burn and a couple others would put itself out close to the final third. But that will not stop me from buying these again! Great cigar for the price. Highly recommended. Thanks C.I.
Never had Pinar del Rios before I bought this and I'm pretty satisfied with the quality for the price. This cigar is pretty peppery and robust, but satisfying. My only complaint is that I've noticed that the last third of the cigar almost always goes out on its own unless you're chain smoking it. Overall good for the price.
Loved these so much I bought another 20 within a week and my neighbors loved them also, great deal!
For the price I figured I would give these a shot. I got the robusto, they aren't a very strong cigar. They are however very pleasant and produce a very nice amount of creamy smoke. I can't say that any cigar I have gotten at this price has been this good. Would certainly order again.
Got a bundle last night, smoked one today. They look like maduros to me, but who knows. Full on the palate, didn't get harsh til the very end. White as an ash as I've seen in a while. I would recommend these, and I will buy more. I think they would age very nicely.
Ordered my first bundle of PDR and they are delicious think I got the Reserva Limitada. Its like a little candy bar will be definitely getting more of these babies!
ahh yes PDR over runs, these are great right outta the truck!!Being a big fan of PDR anyway ,and the CI great price you just cant beat these overruns .By no means are these seconds, smooth flawless wrapper ,awesome draw and the habano s taste great.Well heres another attaboy to the folks at CI,you guys rock!! ....loyal customer for life!!!
Came to my house (Texas) within 4 days. Lit one up right out of the freakin box. Seems like it had been in my collidor for months. Buy them now. You will be just as impressed!!!!! Andre
Got the robustos they are very good. Leathery medium taste, dark wrapper and they burn great. They are getting better every day.
These are definitely legit … take it from a total PDR fan (me) … your $$$ will be well spent!
Great quick cigar.
I smoke the Pinar del Rio's when I'm doing yard work. Good cigar for this purpose/
First time I tried these. I bought a bundle of the half corona. For a buck apiece, I had to give it a try. I am not disappointed. Nice burn, easy draw, smooth. When I run out, I will restock. Great price on a short smoke.
These cigars were a big hit with friends
Got a mazo of these just yesterday and lit one up over lunch city...hello pepperville...but there's also some cedar and a little hint of vanilla in the robusto length for 29 a case and it's worth it...had gotten a PDR sampler case or two a couple weeks back and love them, so figured why not go for these little nuggets to enjoy...glad I did...I am a fairly recent fan of PDR, but if they keep making them this good, I'll be making them a solid favorite brand...
I ordered two mazos because I like everything from PDR, so knew I would be getting something good no matter what blend I received. These are the Sun Grown Habanos...just read their description so I don't have to repeat it here. A very excellent smoke for the price. Will keep ordering these overruns, who knows which blend I will get next time!Ordering two packages lets me put one away for aging, and one pack goes in my desktop humidor to be included in my daily rotation. You can't go wrong with any of the blends at this fantastic price.
I ordered two bundles on Sunday, got them in the mail box Wednesday. Paying for priority mail really helps keep the cigars from having to sit in the humidor for a few weeks to mellow out after being in the mail. The two bundles were the same blend, and right away I believed they were the Sun Grown Habanos. On the bottom of the bundles it listed them as Robustos, 52 x 5, Habano This seems to confirm they were the Sun Growns. As usual, I had to fire one up just as soon as I got home and they are just a fantastic smoke for the price. Read the profile, I won't repeat it here but it was right on the mark. A really good smoke for less than $1.50 I am glad to have even if it would be number four on my order list. I will keep ordering these overruns as long as they are in stock, maybe I will get lucky next time and get one or more of the other fantastic blends. If I get too many of the same blend I will gladly send them over to some of the troops serving in Afghanistan who can really use a quality smoke to relax with after a long, tough week.
I like my cigars to have a little kick to them and these certainly have that. I became a fan of Pinar del Rio cigars through the Joe Cigar specials and keep a variety of them in my humidors. When I saw CI had the overruns I decided to give them a try. I cannot tell them apart from the firsts, not in flavor or in appearance. The only shortcoming is that you don't know which blend you're getting, but I'm fine with that because I haven't met a Pinar del Rio cigar yet I didn't love. This is a five star cigar at a 2 star price. Get some, you won't be disappointed.
These reminded me of the Habanos. I loved every puff! I hope you stock plenty more of these in the future, especially the Toros. These do not deserve to be called seconds but I love the price.
Ordered a bundle of the robustos, think they are Reserva Limitada that I got, crazy excellent! first one right of the truck was perfect, creamy smooth and tons of smoke, not a second to be sure! top notch held its ash past the half way mark. Smoked the RL before and loved it and this one is no exception! keep the over runs coming, gonna go for the Ghurka's next, thanks CI!!
