this is a great cigar,if you are into fullbody cigars.nice flavores, smooth smoke.
I'm currently on box #4 of the Hermosos since they came on "clearance" sale. All four boxes were stamped with summer 2012 boxing dates, which may explain why these are being liquidated now.
At $4.25 on sale, this is easily my favorite every-day cigar. Nicaraos can really benefit from aging as they often have an abundance of charred, roasty notes when fresh.
All of these 3-year old examples had a beautiful creaminess, cedar and white pepper spice along nuttiness and a remainder of the cappuccino-aromas which they had when young. They are such smooth, yummy flavour cigars that their considerable strength (medium-full) can seem disjointed, i.e. a little too strong, at times.
Box variation is interesting to see - the wrapper colors were all remarkably consistent. Draws vary somewhat in the box, with about 30% being a little on the firm side, but still perfectly enjoyable. As a concession to the American market, the flavor profile really shines in the "loose draw" specimens.
One box had a warped lid and showed signs of overhumidification, i.e. a musty... aroma to the cigars. Every box since then has been better, so I will take that as an outlier.
It's too bad Nicarao doesn't offer any sensible ring gauge cigars in a range of 38-46, but the blend may not be developed for that. Highly recommended at the discount price, but great cigars at any rate.
