My Go To Cigar
I try other cigars but rarely find one that compares to the Montecristo. When I need a good smoke I always return to the ol' faithful. It is my Go To cigar.

Fine little cigars
I'm a Merchant marine officer. I usually smoke four of these a day. They are of remarkably consistent quality. Unlike some other small cigars which always seem to be rolled too tightly. The Montecristos always draw easily. Flavor develops early and lasts throughout.

smooth operator
This is an easy smoke, mild and velvety. Each billow rolls off like a heavenly cloud. I'd recommend this stick to beginners and aficionados alike.

Baby Monti's
A great smoke if you only have 20 to 30 minutes to enjoy a cigar. I punch mine with a mechanical pencil. Unlike other small cigars, they are very well made, burn nicely, and have the consistency of a larger premium stick. And best of all, you can taste the Monti in every puff. It's a keeper!!

Customer Testimonials
These are fantastic! Phenomenal construction, and are pretty mild. Have become my go to short smoke.
Outstanding, best quick smoke out there.
I love this cigar. I smoke 'em to the nub every time!
As mundane as the Classic is, it has a darker cousin called Reserva Negra, that comes in a cute little 4.5" X 44 short corona which delivers a bit more flavor, complexity & strength. A quick 25 minute romp through clouds of thick white smoke, a great draw, tastes of earth & black tobacco, with a touch of peppery spice. Somewhat complex, perhaps due to the thick, oily maduro leaf that graces the well constructed mini frame of this flavor bomb by Monte's standards. I like it a lot, actually. It makes me anxious to try the White Series & Platinum Series standard 5.5" X 44 coronas I have had stashed away in my treasure humidor of solo sticks, in hopes that they too will bring more zing to the party. Anyway you slice it, for me at least, all of the Montecristo blends command a higher price point than I am willing to pay. Not while Diesel, Sancho Panza & many other excellent blends remain affordable. With that said, I give the Montecristo Reserva Negra corona a nice 89/100. Not bad at all!
A classic. In it's day.... The #3 Corona is 5.5" X 44 & features mild Dominican long fillers, wrapped in a splotchy Connecticut shade leaf. Well made, but a bit soft, particularly near the head & foot. Prelight aroma is earthy with mushroom scent. It starts off mild & one dimensional & remains that way for the entire journey. Earth, wood, mushroom. It's a short lasting vitola, compared to most 5.5" Coronas, too. About 30 minutes. Overall, I give it a 87/100, because it remains true to its origins. Post revolution, I mean. Like Punch, except that blend is as fabulous today as it was then. Montes are unfortunately, merely the same now, as then. If you have to have them, then go for it. I think I understand why. But, if you are like me, grab a 5 pack of Don Lino Colorado Rothchildes, for the same price as one of these & enjoy a much more enjoyable & complex mild blend.
I have smoked Montecristo off and on, for years, whenever the budget allowed, and have always found them to be a great smoke... Until now. This cigar has been resting for weeks under controlled humidification. No sooner did I clip the tip and fired up the stick, the wrapper started to fall off. I wound up smoking it with just the binder to hold it together. It was a struggle to keep it lit. It burned off center and then tunneled. The flavor was crap. I suspect this poor construction was a fluke, and will try them again. But, this was the worst ten-dollar cigar I have ever smoked. Bitterly disappointed.
A smooth smoke (just as you should expect from Montecristo) but in my opinion, inferior to both the Classic, which I consider the standard of high-end mild cigars, and the White Label. Still, it's as good as its pedigree suggests it should be.
Great cigar, I don't care what size you get. Always smooth, good construction, long ashes.
I'm in real trouble with my wife, since she is already complaining about the dollar amount I spend on cigars. After smoking a Churchill, I have to add this fantastic Montecristo to my list. It took me more than an hour to finish, and I was still wanting more. This cigar has the right amount of strength, that could be enjoyed any time of the day. While it is not mild, it is so smooth that you don't even think about the bracket it falls under. With an even burn, easy draw, huge billows of smoke, and great construction. Who could ask for anything better than this cigar.
Just received a 10-pack of Monte churchills. What a wonderful smoke! Well constructed, a lovely draw, even burn and plumes of lush smoke! It's mild-to-medium bodied and very smooth. It's a perfect everyday smoke. I don't always need to smoke a full-body powerhouse. Highly recommended.
I have a problem with Brando's trashing (86 for this cigar is a trashing) of a benchmark cigar. This is one handful of the cigars all others are compared to. Yes, it doesn't have the mix of tabacco or vary from foot to nub, but no one wants to each french cuisine every night either. This is the BLT of cigars, allways tastes the same and allways hits the spot. When you are done experimenting, you can always go back to the Montecristo and get that same wholesome, reassuring, wonderful smoke. Its like a BLT and tomato soup, sometimes, it really hits the spot.
The No. 3 is by far my favorite cigar. Not too long, not too short, amazing flavor and always an even burn. I'd smoke them more often if I could afford too.
I ordered 10 of the churchills from a daily deal and wish that I had ordered more. (Montecristo) These are by far my favorite cigar and I have even tried the cuban montes. They are very smooth, have great taste, white ash, and an even burn. You can't beat these cigars. I'm definitely going to buy another box when I run out.
Been smoking the #3's (Montecristo) for years now. My favorite! The Cuban equivalent has nothing over these. Always a great taste with never a surprise. Has a nutty blend to them.
A fine cigar indeed (Montecristo)! I've been spending over 3 times the price on the Cubans and am convinced that the Dominican version is a great tasting cigar as well. It also impressed my cigar smoking friends as well!
Flawless. Every Montecristo I've ever smoked is dense and perfectly constructed, and the burn is always even. A little on the mild side (easily the mildest cigar in my rotation), but not lacking flavor by any means - a very smooth, even creamy smoke. Outstanding!
The Montecristo is one of my favorite cigars. For the price, I would have to say it's in my top 10 of favorite cigars. It has a good taste and a smooth burn all the way down. Not too strong, it is a great cigar for beginners. A Montecristo is a great, relaxing way to end an evening.
