Erik Espinosa deserves a standing ovation for this hour thrill-ride if a stick! Construction… Gorgeous. Draw… Perfect. Smoke… LOTS! I retrohaled on the first draw and the initial pepper blast brought me to attention. The cigar then quickly mellowed into a medium body with creamy notes of cedar and earth. At the midway point I picked up some notes of citrus which was a nice surprise. As I moved into the final third it transitioned into a very smooth, creamy nuttiness. I picked this cigar up in a 601 sampler but now have my eye on a crate of 80. This is the perfect example of a cigar that delivers far more value than what you pay for it. If you don't try this one, you are truly missing out.

Not the cigar I remember
Nov 04, 2015
I don't know if this cigar was reblended but the one I just smoked was much different from the ones I smoked when this cigar first came out. The flavor from the most recent La Zona had a very loose draw and burned very fast. Honestly I thought I was smoking a short filler cigar. The flavor was paper with a mild clove that left my mouth very dry. I was surprised because the cigar was very oily with a noticeable barnyard scent. Very mild with no changes. Really kind of disappointing.
