Smoked the copper wrapper (La Perla Cobre) which was part of the primo sampler pack. This smoke is solid! Very well constructed, smooth & cool throughout with a nutty flavor. Definitely will smoke more. Look for a CI deal & fire up! Recommended smoke for anyone who likes mild to medium power & control.
I have smoked The La Perla Habana cigars and let me tell you they are solid. Great construction, cedar and spice. They are as good as many so called premiums. Do yourself a favor and buy a box or three. But take it from someone who has smoked handmades for more than thirty years, try them you'll like them.
Smoking the toro and this is one excellent cigar. Rolled rock solid with excellent draw. Burns even and holds it ash very well. I'm not refined enough to tell you it tastes of oak and leather, but I love the taste of this cigar. Flavor is very similar to Punch, at about half the price. The flavor stayed consistent and smooth all the way to the last half inch, then gained strength quickly. I'll repeat what others have said...buy some you will not be disappointed.
These are the best cigars I have ever smoked. I rate it a 96. I love my conn rocky patel, but the cobre black pearl beats it.
This cigar - (La Perla Habana - Cobre) looks pretty innocent with that light wrapper... but that girl on the band ain't so shy after all now fellas. This does start very smooth and mellow mild, but it does get bold within the first few puffs and stays that way through the whole cigar. Medium to full strength and thick clouds of smoke confirm the loose and easy draw. So loose and easy is the draw that if you decide to purge the smoke to let it go out to come back to it later, the very thin wrapper is likely to pop like a balloon! Purge gently gents. Flavor? I'd say pure tobacco earthiness but creamy and mellow with a bit of pepper retro through the nose. This ol' gal ain't brash, but she definitely speaks up and grabs your attention
Wow! Just ordered the 60 ring La Perla Habana Sampler and this was the first one I tried. Best smoke I've had in ages. Could be a new favorite. Draw was a little tighter than I prefer, but that's my only complaint, and it's a small one. It would pair wonderfully with some really good coffee. Would definitely buy again.
The wrapper is delicate. I've had a couple to unwrap completely on me, so be gentle. However, the flavor makes up for this in spades. One of my favorite smokes. This is what a cigar should be, and the price is a nice bonus.
To get my taste and body, I prefer: Perdomo Lot 23, Sancho Panza, Gurkha Regent, NUB Connecticut, Montecristo White label, Carlos Torano Casa Torano. The Cobre Black Pearl (Robusto) are mild-medium with some spice up front that mellows in four or five puffs. The ash holds strong and flavor is full. The mellow continues to about 4/5 then builds to a glorious finish. Each draw is a delight. I'm glad I picked up a box of these.
I tend to shy away from natural wrappers, but I bought a 10-pack of toros on special. I have loved every one. The construction and burn have been consistently good, and the flavor is great.
This is a mild to medium cigar that provides a pleasant, creamy smoke. It started out a little rough but quickly mellowed and smoked well all the way to the nub, hated for it to end. The cigar provides light notes of leather and white pepper throughout. Great morning smoke, paired well with my coffee.
First smoked a Cobre in 2005 and loved it so much I took notes on it, then the brand became hard to get. Along comes C.I. a few years back with them all. Back to the Cobre toro, as good as the tasting notes from the 8 stick sampler for $10 C.I. offered in 2005. Herbashish (my word maybe) cedar and some floral notes. Yummy in a nutshell, and very well made. And the price, well thats C.I. because they use to cost a lot more. Cant wait to see what humidor time does to them, nothing but good things Im sure.
....If you are a mild-medium bodied fan you are doing yourself a disservice by not giving these fine cigars a chance. They are that good. Macanudo fans need not apply...these have serious flavor.
