Quality seems to be declining. Cigars were dry. Not like they once were.

Nice smoke
The La Gloria Cubana is a great smoke! Doesn't break your pocketbook and smokes great. For me just a nice consistent cigar that hasn't let me down... I love them!

La Gloria Cubana Torpedo
This is one of my go-to cigars. None of the fancy BS, just a great smoke.

I've always loved La Gloria's
While I have always loved La Gloria's I have trouble with this newer modern obsession with insanely large ring sizes. The mid 40's ring size is perfect for cutting, V-notching or plugging without destroying the crown of the cigar.

I love this Dominican cigar!
I love this Dominican cigar! Great value draws beautifully and burns to a ripe ash. Simply fine

One of the best "little" cigars out there
Really enjoyable short smoke. The few people I share these guys with really love them also. Will continue to buy more...

Just OK
Bought five for the Hockey Playoffs. They were ok. Not great or good. Think I'm spoiled by my favorite brand Macanudo.

A little to Robusto for me.

Delighted with my Purchase
I recently ordered a box of La Gloria Cubana Charlemagne and have been sharing them with some close friends. I’m delighted with the purchase and so are they. Glad to be able to enjoy them and glad to be part of the group that buys from Cigars International.

La Gloria Cubana Charlemagne Delights!
Outstanding smooth, rich and creamy smoke. Perfect for the long road trip, or any time. Loved them and there will always be in the humidor!

LGC Minutos - Simply Perfect
I love this cigar - everything about it. The blend is a great medium body with enough interesting notes to keep you interested. The size is great when you don't have very long to smoke, but long enough that if you want to stretch it it's obliging. The draw is easy and full. For me, the perfect go-to petite corona. I heard that GC is doing away with this size, which I think is a shame. This is a cigar that I will certainly miss.

Not Good
They were dried out and don't draw well as if they were from an old lot and keep going out❗️

The cigar is one of my favorites. Service as usual was great on the order. I miss your daily e-mail specials. They kept me thinking "cigars" and fed my appetites in a way. Wish the Gloria Cubana would go on sale occasionally. Keep up the great work!!

Full flavored La Gloria's
If you like a full flavored cigar and an excellent smoking experience, then give the La Gloria Wavell another try. They're back and they're good and they are reasonably priced. It's almost just like they were 20 years ago.

A premium experience on a middle class budget.
My first hand rolled, imported cigar that I ever smoked was a La Gloria Cubana. I'm pretty sure it was a Corona Gorda. But that was in 2004, bought from a tobacco shop in Muskogee Oklahoma, so my memory of the size may be off but my recollection of the cigar is spot on. Ever since then I find myself going back to this tasty, consistant, well crafted beauty! So many smokes are now touted for they're heartiness, robustness, or exclusive rareness but I will promise you that this La Gloria, at a sweet price, will answer all those claims and more. This hefty cigar has a smooth, deep flavor that gives a growing and developing strength from start to finish. I love the pure draw and easy burn and I've found that a full box rarely has 1 or maybe 2 cigars in it that burn in an off way. La Goria has shown itself to me to be a masterpiece of consistency, flavor, strength, construction, and enjoyment. Always in my humidor and proud to share with my friends --- La Gloria Cubana Corona Gorda!

La Gloria
Very nice smoke. Full of flavor through to the end.

Frustrated Smoker!!
These cigars have great flavor 80% of the time, because of the quality of making the cigar. Got it, ‘Hand Made’, but with everything else in the world suffering poor quality and lack of pride, we need to be able to turn to are cigars to relax and contemplate this dilemma. I enjoy the La Gloria Cubana Glorias Extra, 6X46. This past year I have accumulated two and half boxes of “extremely tight” cigars. The past two orders have been acceptable, I hope it improves. I really enjoy these cigars.

La Gloria Cubana Churchill
Still my go to cigar. Even burn, consistent flavor, all at a very reasonable price. I've tried many cigars over the years, but I feel insecure if there's less than 3 boxes in my humidor.

A loyal customer ...but ......
I buy approximately 2 - 3 boxes of La Gloria Cubana wavells from you every month. The last few shipments the cigars have been "spotty". Some very dry, as if they've been left unattended without a humidor too long.
2 out of 5
At one time The wavell was a good cigar.
Recently many of the cigars have a section that is very hard and will not burn. This used to be my go to cigar, but not anymore.

A time for change.
I have been smoking La Gloria Cubana for over ten years and enjoying them. but lately I have getting about 5 cigars to a box that are very heavily stemmed, that I can't even smoke. What a waste of money. I would hate to stop smoking them but the frustration is not worth it any more.

1/2 of the box was plugged . Impossible to draw. Very disappointed

La Gloria Cubana Petit Maduro
An excellent small cigar, providing some measure of pleasure that is reminiscent of the Serie R. Upon arrival is a bit tight, yet if put in the humidor for 10 days, and each end pierced with a long straight pin, it smokes fine.

Excellent as always.

Customer Testimonials
I just finished my 2nd La Gloria Cubana Toro. I like a medium stick, and certainly enjoy my SOA's and Man-O-Wars. These LGC'ss are quite nice. Good draw, plenty of smoke, nice flavor, and burns relatively cool without harshness. I will be buying a box of these. Thanks again, CI.
'Glorias En Cedro' 7 to a box, in tubes w/cedar linings. Need I say more!! "I love the R Series." These are a Great treat right after delivery. Got them on 'Special' Very pleased. Bottom of humidor now, saving for next appropriate-time or dependable need. Too good for golf course?? maybe. However will be easy to take with me, tube and all (tubes are great for travel and storage-right size) Ahh!! Spring is here. Thanks CI
This cigar was love at first puff. A very unique flavor profile hits You right out of the gate and stays until the last puff. On my short list of best ever cigars hand down.
This happens to be my favorite cigar. Very tasty.
LGC is one of my favorite cigars so I jumped on this 5-pack with both feet. Unfortunately, the first two of the sticks I received were really not up to snuff (not to mix metaphors). No matter which cutter I used, the caps just fall off, followed all too quickly by the entire wrapper. Also, the draw has been VERY firm on every one I've smoked. I have to add a couple of disclaimers, however: 1) I had my order shipped to me while I was on vacation down south. The humidity was regularly in the 90-95% range the entire time and temps were routinely in the high 90s, low 100s. That could have been part of the issue. 2) While I had a water pillow in the bag with these sticks, they could have been over-humidified since the RH was so high. I'm now home in Buffalo (Hell, yeah Terry Pegula!!!! GO BILLS!!!!!) having arrived 9/5 and put my smokes in my humidor for the last few days. I just had the third of the 5-pack. The caps flew the coop, as usual, and I had to use my pokerizer to vent the cigar to alleviate the too-firm draw but the wrapper stayed attached & overall it was a very pleasant med-full smoke with the great LGC flavor that hooked me from the beginning.
La Gloria Cubana Series R No. 7 is always satisfying!
Usually a huge and long-term LGC fan. But the maduro Churchill has consistently irritating draw problems. Will not buy again! But anytime, up for an N or R or a smaller LG.
Never smoked this brand before this. I purchased a Wavell robusto from a local cigar shop. Construction was superb, draw was effortless(practically smokes itself), and had nice, shimmery wrapper with slightly oily sheen. Now the flavor starts off with typical Cuban peppery spicy flavor and works to just slightly peppery. It then gets full and leathery, but with no pepper or anything else present. Overall great quality, though I am not sure this was the cigar for me. I just lost interest towards the end. Don't let me steer you away; this is a quality brand and might be the box you keep buying. I'm gonna give it another shot in the future.
I tried out the Wavell Maduro and what a great smoke it was! Definitely one you should try. Great taste and had a good body. It did burn unevenly at times, but nothing too big to complain about. Other than that, this cigar was awesome. If you haven't tried out the Wavell Maduro, you should order one right now! You won't be let down with this one. I'll be ordering more pretty soon.
A very tasty two hour cigar.
I love these cigars but I wish someone inform the producers to improve quality control. Of all the cigars I order this brand consistently contains cigars rolled poorly. With each order that I find poorly rolled cigars I imagine a rollover in workers. I still buy this brand because I enjoy them (the one's that I can smoke) with hope that word would get to them to clean up their act especially considering the price.
I just had the Serie R #5, and what a creamy, tasty cigar! The only way I can describe it, is it's like smoking a milkshake, it was that creamy! Nice thick tasty smoke, and nice flavor. I got one in a sampler, and would definitely buy more on their own.
Just finished my first "Series R" Hmmm, maybe I need a lil more time to let my mind reconstruct my experience? Maybe not. So here it is, CI reviewers have always graded "La Gloria Habana Series R" mid 80's at best.... So why such a high price? Personally I couldn't find a thing to complain about except the price. The flavor was earthy, toned with soft leather, toast, nutty and just the right amount spicy pepper. The draw was smooth and the burn was flawless. My problem is I could name 8 cigars off the top of my head that I could say the same about. So again it comes down to price. I have 4 more of these lovely sticks which I will space out or maybe share with a friend for comparison conversation....
I just finished one of the Serie R #5 (5.5" x 54); where have I been? I had 4 of these in my humi for the last year secured through CI samplers. I've smoked cigars for over 35 years and this is one of the best. Great Construction, very nice ash and the aftertaste reminds me of a Partagas on steroids! I actually burned my mustache smoking it down to the nub. I fully agree with Steve O on the review. I just wish my Grandpa, who could never afford anything but White Owls or Phillies, was alive so I could share this one with him! It is late, but I'm going to smoke another one!
The wrapper was a rich black color and had a couple of big veins showing. It was odd but the band was actually off set and made the cigar look a little tacky. The cold draw gave notes of cinnamon and was an easy pull allowing the flavor to flow through the cigar easily. Upon lighting the cigar was sweet and added strength into the first inch. The ash was firm and the smoke added a pepper spice. As the cigar moved into the 2nd 1/3 I had hints of wood. The draw turned a bit hard but the cigar started to give off a pleasant sweet smoke. Halfway though the cigar wasn't Full bodied as advertised, but did give a nice spice on the tongue. Thus far the cigar hasn't been super complex. In the final 1/3 the burn became a bit uneven and had to be touched up several times. The closer I got to the nub the more I got an earthy spice. The burn was cool all the way to the end. The smoke was still nice and sweet with a Medium/Full body flavor. The nub did add more spice but I wouldn't say it reached Full bodied by any means. The LGC Serie R was a good cigar, but didn't live up to the hype. I was excited for the Full bodied experience but it never got there. The flavor profile was above average which is important, but the devil is in the details. The band being off center and the uneven burn was a deal breaker for me. I want to smoke another to see if my experience will change. If you do smoke the Serie R don't expect the best cigar of your life, but you can expect a straight forward tasty blend in the Medium/Full range.
Glorias, gloria extras and wavells are 3 of my favorites with the same characters noted in different ways. Toasty, earthy, peppery, cocoa, coffee, leathery and a slight dried fruit sweetness are some of the notes that come out of these powerhouse cigars. Let them sit and develop in your humidor.
The number 3 R series is dominated with a well balanced deep forest taste. Dark chocolate and pepper through out the length with slight licorice notes. A well constructed cigar with a leathery chewy wrap and smooth even burn. A powerful evening treat. The whole R series is quite similar.
Yummy what else can be said. One of the best cigars out there!!!!!!! A must try.
I have smoked these for years. Man, they are always one of the best!
As my interest of cigars have been growing I have decided to help others pick the right cigar for them by rating every one in my collection. These are my opinions and are not meant to be taken too critically. Scale 1-5 Wrapper: (1) These things fall apart from just my cigar cutter Taste: (1-3) They fluxuate and never have a consitent taste Burn: (3) Not too bad Feeling: (3) Best thing about it Personally not my fav, infact I only bought one box. However I enjoy one from time to time
Simply put. This is a great cigar, with an abundance of smoke, and smooth while full bodied. One that I didn't want to put out, and didn't until it reached my fingers.
Amazing. Couldn't believe the unique licorice flavor this stick gave off. Definitely my favorite so far.
Frankly I find the normal la Gloria blend uninspiring. It has a woody taste reminiscent of a cheap cigar and exhibits poor construction and wrapper unraveling. However, the la Gloria Series R is superb. It is a mid to full bodied cigar with complex flavors, hints of coffee and rich earth. It is very well constructed and tastes good all the way to a nub. A real winner. it is on my list of five favorite cigars.
Loved this hefty smoke. No complaints!
What's not to Love about the (La Gloria Cubana & LGC Serie R) an hour and a half of sheer bliss! In my opinion... a cigar smokers cigar. A five star finger burner for sure! Combine one part single malt, 3 parts serie "R", one fabulous AZ sunset-you're in like "Flint"...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
It's been a while since I had a (La Gloria Cubana & LGC Serie R) and when I did, it was way back when I first started smoking cigars and I wasn't impressed. So it's been a few years and I decided to give LGC another chance and I have to say I was quite impressed. I smoked the Series R #5 maduro and I picked up lots of spice reminiscent of grandma's homemade chili (yum!), lots of earth, coffee, chocolate and walnuts. The burn was uneven at times but it corrected itself so I got no beef. I love the full bodied smokes so this one definitely will become a go-to cigar for me and since the prices are reasonable, there should be no reason why anyone shouldn't give this a try. A solid 89. And PS to all the cigar lovers out there: if you don't like a smoke, wait a couple of years and give them another try. Sometimes an off cigar can give one a bad impression that isn't true of the blend. It's nice being surprised by a good smoke!
I recently ordered a box of (La Gloria Cubana & LGC Serie R) cigars. First, I have to say that CI is the best internet cigar store I have dealt with. I place my order, and the cigars are shipped and at my door in two days!! Fantastic, not like some other companies (uh-hum I will not mention) I have dealt with. Now, back to the review.... When I smoke a cigar, I want lots of smoke. These babies give you gobs of smoke, from the first puff right to the nub. Also for me, I want a cigar that stays lit. No problem there either. I don't know about the walnut, woodsey, earthy, buttery, spicey, leathery after notes (whatever that tastes like), but I do know they taste like tobacco. They burn evenly, and have just the right mix of flavors. CI's price is incredible compared to my local tobacco shop. I have tried some "premium cigars", but for me you can't beat them........especially in these economic times. This is a cigar for the people looking for a "stimulus" to their economic downturn!!
A few months ago a friend and I were hanging out, I was smoking a Tatuaje and he had a Series R natural. I was super impressed. Since I like Maduro's better I decided to pick up a Series R #6. Oh my. If you have not had one of these you need too. Great burn, great draw, and super complex. It seemed that every draw was a bit different. It took me over an hour to smoke it and i smoked it to about 1/2'. I tasted cocoa, and wood, but there were so many flavors that I couldn't tell you them all. If you like complex cigars you have to try this. Happy Smoking.
Very nice cigar. (La Gloria Cubana) Even burn, excellent draw, lovely prelight aroma, delightful flavour. What's not to like?
The "R" line from La Gloria gets the press these days, but I still prefer the original Wavells in maduro shade - it's a first-rate, full-bodied, spicy smoke, very reminiscent of what one used to be able to get from that certain island off Florida. The maduro Wavells tend toward a spicier, more peppery flavor as opposed to earthy (i.e., Henry Clay), and produce beautiful, aromatic smoke and a fine ash. The burn requires patience and steadiness - don't hurry this cigar, or you'll pay for it. There are some construction inconsistencies from time to time, but La Gloria seems to have largely solved their demand-vs.-supply problems, and the quality of late has been far more consistent. A first-rate maduro, and one of my favorites.
La Gloria Cubana Series R are pretty darn good cigars. All things considered if you want a medium strong flavor in a moderately priced stogie give them a try. I won't go into the hints of chocolate and pepper wanderings of the pros. It is a good cigar..leave it at that. Worth the money
La Glorias (La Gloria Cubana) are close to the top of my favorites list, and are at the top of my best values list. I've yet to come accross a better cigar in this price range. The wavell, corona gorda, and churchill are my favs. They start off with a smooth medium bodied flavor and after the first 3rd they settle-in too a fuller bodied smoke all the while maintaining their high level of smoothness. The naturals have a complex nutty taste on the draw and The maduros have that same nutty complex, but with an added earthy dimention. Both producing a mellow spice through the nose and hints of coffee on the finish. You cant say you smoke cigars unless you've had these.
La Gloria Serie R #5 maduro (La Gloria Cubano)is one of my favorite smokes. It's one of the best full bodied but not overpowering smokes out there. The #5 seems to be the perfect size for the blend, not too small, not too large. These are one of my favorite premium smokes. If you like the RP Edge, you should give these a try.
The la glorias (La Gloria Cubana) are one of my favorites, only in maduro though, actualy 99% of the cigars I like are maduro. Anyways these cigars even though medium always make me sitdown, and they always have enough spice to keep my attention the whole way through so try one.
I first discovered La Gloria (La Gloria Cubana) during the boom. The Wavell quickly became my trademark smoke, one of consistent quality and unbeatable taste. The image of me smoking them all the way down to needing a roach clip is one my friends still bring up. Now I always keep at least a box of Wavells and Serie R Maduros in my humidor. They're simply incredible. I cannot recommend the La Gloria line enough. Now if CI only carried roach clips big enough for cigars...
Is this cigar "La Gloria Cubana" made in DR or Miami? I ordered a box of 10 Maduros... can't wait!
The Gloria Cubana Series R is a fantastic smoke! I prefer the #6 maduro for it's fullness and sense that you have "smoked a cigar". I stated smoking the series R's after smoking the Torpedo #1 maduros for a couple of years. The large ring gauge , oily dark wrapper, full rich smoke, and a damn nice looking wrapper always satisfies! I must say that it is underated as an eye catcher as well. On more than one occasion I have been stopped and asked just what I'm smoking...often by women... ;)
best damn smoke around (La Gloria Cubana)
The La Gloria Serie R #5 is an intense, full bodied smoke. Well constructed, beautiful appearance and well aged, this one will knock your socks off! So tasty I almost want to take a bite out of it! Bought a five pack on a whim and now everything else tastes like dirt. If you like 'em full bodied you can't go wrong here!
