Perfect even light, even smooth burn, easy quality draw, plenty of delightful complex smelling smoke, but on my palate the Nica Rustica was a let down. It didn't have the complex full bodied flavor that I expected from this burn. I paired it with a dram of Buffalo Trace bourbon thinking that the Nica would hold up and was flatly disappointed. It tasted much more like a mild/medium smoke that would have paired better with a mild IPA. My mouth also held a pretty dissatisfying after taste which was strange after all the other high quality elements(burn, draw, smell) that this cigar had. I'm not sure if I need to give it another try with a whole new set of circumstances, but given the hype it received at my local lounge I expected far more.
Well I just got my delivery on these cigars and all I can say is that I'm a happy camper! This is the poor mans T52. It's a little rough but I think it's because the cigar is still young. I think with a couple of months in the humi, this cigar will become a gem! Lot's of coco and expresso coffee bean right off the bat. Black pepper in the retro hale. Ton's of smoke output. If your a Liga fan, Definitely worth stocking up on.
Fantastic smoke! Had my first Nica Rustica El Brujito two days ago and the experience is still on my mind. Burns extremely even, perfect construction & draw, and a very smooth taste on the pallet. The Nica Rustica is even better than the Liga Privada Undercrown and will be a daily cigar for me once the supply has improved.
A good, solid smoke. Not extremely complex, but consistent. In my estimation, this cigar leans more toward medium strength than full. Overall, a good cigar with a nice rich, yet not overpowering flavor. Pairs well with a dirty martini. Or two.
Well, the cigar construction was very appealing, the band was awesome but the flavor was bland. I can find a lot of cigars for a lot less money that taste better. This cigar has a ton of hype and this guy was very unimpressed.
Easy light. Excellent construction, draw and burn. Very cool burn with massive smoke output, even while at rest. Mild sweet earthy flavors with hints of coffee, cocoa, nuts and caramel. Not complex, medium strength and no change in flavor profile to the end.
This is a very nice smoke. Maybe not a full body, more like a medium full but that's ok..I think because of the construction it may be a bit over priced and the supply is limited.
By far one of my favorite cigars. Burned even all the way through. Had a great draw. At first I took a hit and my mouth was almost overwhelmed by pepper.... Low and behold it became more mellow but never lost it's pepper. I loved this cigar. I would brag that I found it and recommend it to a friend.
I was not a Drew Estates fan until I tried this cigar. It is not your typical bold flavor, but the notes of coffee and spice on my palate has left me considering having this as a staple in my humidor.
I bought a bundle of these cigars from CI after I sampled them from a B&M (Can't beat CI's prices or Customer Service). These cigars are good by me, but if you don't enjoy other Drew Estate non-infused offerings, you probably won't like this cigar. It spews the same smoke quantity as the undercrowns, so be careful to smoke in a well venerated area. Sometimes they give off a weird flavor that reminds me of licking birthday candles...strange but I've noticed the same in a couple of undercrowns. Might be connected to the ridiculous smoke output? They're great sticks, but it seems like DE is releasing cigars that are becoming more disconnected with a traditional "cigar" and becoming something else entirely. Good or bad? Depends of your taste buds. All in all, I'm a Nica Rustica fan and plan having them around for as long as they sell.
This is my "go to" cigar. Easy light with a bold [but not too bold] flavor. This is a consistent cigar with a good burn and easy draw. In my top five.
This cigar ROCKS! ....This is one of the top three must have cigars in my humidors! AMAZING! It's been a while since a cigar surprised me and this the one has. I love them. Taste overload.
Absolutely my favorite smoke at the moment. I mean, that term favorite does change now and then but the Nica will be hard to displace. I have had probably five over the last couple of weeks and all have been perfect from burn, draw, appearance and of course taste. I hesitate to use corny terms but "smoke bomb" is all I can think of to describe the beauty of this stick, whether being drawn on or just sitting in the tray or in your hand. All five senses are engaged for sure.
