Cuba Aliadis is, in my view, a wonderful cigar. It's about medium bodied with a delightful flavour. There is always more of these in my humidors than any other brand.
Nice sticks. It's a darned shame the candela wrapped CA's seem to have disappeared. They were my favorites. They carried a certain fruity sweetness the other CA's just didn't have. They also carried a bit of a wallop. Other notes (pepper, cedar) were also present on a cigar with a very even burn, a lovely ash and the kind of expert roll one comes to expect from Rolando Reyes products.
Rolando Reyes produces many of my favorites smokes. I hope his organization hasn't abandoned the lovely, lush, green candelas for good.
I LIKE MY STICKS MEDIUM TO FULL BODIED WITH A TOASTY TASTE AND MANY FLAVORS ARE WELCOME. MOST WELL CONSTRUCTED FULL BODIED SMOKES ARE PRICEY. I NEED TO BE CAREFULL WITH THE CREDIT CARDS WHEN STOCKING MY FIVE HUMIDORS. I HAVE FOUR AVERAGE SIZE BOX HUMIDORS (50-100 STICKS EACH) AND A 1500 STICK COMMERCIAL HUMIDOR. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THE FIRST TIME I TRIED THE CUBA ALLIADOS. A GREAT EVERY DAY SMOKE, LIGHTER THAN I USUALLY SMOKE (LA FLORADITA, EL RICO HABANA, OBSIDIAN AND VEGAS 5 PERDOMO 2004 GRAND CRU AND AN ASSORTMENT OF ROCKY PATEL AND GURKHA ALL IN A MADURO WRAPPER IF AVAILABLE. THESE ALLIADOS HAVE A GREAT TASTE AND ARE CHEWY TOWARDS THE FINISH LIKE I LIKE THEM. I HAVE BURNED MY FINGERS AND LIPS MORE THAN ONCE SAVORING THE FINISH ON THESE BEAUTIES. THE PRICING IS VERY REASONABLE (ACTUALLY A GREAT DEAL !) THE ONLY CON IS THAT THE WRAPPERS ARE A LITTLE BRITTLE AND DO TEND TO BREAK UP A BIT SO SMOKE THEM TENDERLY. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
I bought a 10 pack of these years ago, maybe 5 years gone by, they were double corona size, I don't see that size available here now, but they have been sitting in the humi for that long, I will say this, I have nearly burned through the 10 in the last week, it is a great cigar, I hadn't forgot them, just had to many Patel's and Padilla's to smoke you know, but with cut backs and such I have been searching C.I. for some cheap everyday cigars, Gurkha has 2 on my list, Cuban Legacy and Park Avenue, Cuba Aladios is one a little bit higher in price, but a great Medium smoke, it gets close to medium full the last third of the smoke, It reminds me of a poor man's Patel Old World Reserve, a nice toasty earth and spice flavor, with just a hint of sweetness, Not as powerful as OWR for sure, but for the price a real winner.
I've been a fan of Cuba Aliados for years....so I was glad to see the fellas at CI get 'em back in stock....the Toro Extra is a wonderful, flavorful, consistent, medium body cigar........wreaths of smoke encircling me, also make this a nice visual experience...you go CI!!!!!
I just picked up a few of these Cuba Aliados robusto. Wasn't sure what to expect, but these are really tasty. Very smooth. There's a little shop in Jersey City where the guy rolls his own. These Cuba Aliados remind me of some of his at a lower price. A really nice smoke.Well rolled, not heavy, but solid - no soft spots. And again,(the important part to me), a great taste.
If your like me and smoke everyday this is a very nice cigar. It has a very nice flavor to it. It has a good draw, nice burn, and was well constucted. This has some nice big clouds of smoke.I dont have any negative things to say about this cigar. It was very reasonably priced, smooth and medium flavored.
A lot of people seem to be averse to the Cuba Aliados, perhaps because of the earthiness, but I've always liked them quite a bit. Always well rolled, with a great burn and balance of flavors, and a great value, as well. My only gripe is that they no longer make them in the standard corona size.
