At first lighting the pepper of this cigar over took me, but in maybe 2/3 mins it smoooothed right out. This cigar does have a kind of unique taste to it. It's not as bold and harsh as I've read it to be, but I realize we all have different tastes. This one you smoke slowly to appreciate it. The aroma of the cigar is not harsh or over bearing at all and it holds an ash very well too.
I had read many reviews on the La Bomba and wanted to try it, but was afraid that I wouldn't like it due to the pepper flavor. While I love full body cigars regardless of their strength, I'm not crazy about those that have an overwhelming black pepper taste to them. That being said, when the cigars arrived there were two 601 La Bomba's in the samplers. Not wanting to try these alone and have a second opinion, I called my son to come over to smoke the other one. For around 45 minutes he and I could only set there and talk about how good this cigar was. This is a full body smoke that comes across as one you enjoy the flavor so much that the strength is of little importance. I will say that I got somewhat of a buzz in my head and stomach half way down, but they went away as fast as they came. A must try cigar for all those who love full body smokes.
after mine aged in the humidor for 3 months i found it to be a very well balanced and smooth smoke. I didn't find it strong at all. really enjoyed it and will be adding it to my regulars.
VERY strong. Very good, as well. I was smoking one of the Warheads, and I was shaking a little bit by the end. Wow. It's also the only cigar that has set off the smoke detector in the Man Cave. Take that for what it's worth...
I ordered a 5 pack of the warhead version. I love box pressed and maduros. Half way through the first smoke, I ordered a box. Very very well constructed. Not a soft spot in it anywhere. Prelight draw was sweet, peppery, and mocha. So I toasted the foot and on the first puff it was amazingly sweet. The pepper kicked but it was very well balanced with the sweetness. The flavor profile stayed the same almost the whole way through. Sweeter at times, spicier at times. Very full flavored, very full bodied. This one made me a little light headed about 2/3 through. I paired this with a double of Blantons Single Barrel Bourbon. This was the perfect companion for this smoke. The sweetness of the bourbon enhanced the sweetness of the cigar. Burn time was about 2 hours. Ash held tight but was not particularly smooth. Burn line was good mostly, self correcting when it got uneven. No touch ups or delights required. Excellent smoke. Moves right to the too of my list. Only thing I don't like is that there are limited quantities. I really really enjoyed this smoke very much.
I got 10 of the Napalm size cigars for a real killer deal from Cigars International.. Awesome price. Fired one up and Wow this baby is beautiful. Smokes like a dream. All kinds of flavors hit You from the start.. Very happy with these. Also love dealing with Cigars International. Be sure to check out the Joes daily deal every day. Gotta love it.
Powerhouse cigar, it kicked my butt. I might revisit this one in 5-10 years. Some people say these are some of the best, but it's overwhelming for me, definitely smoked out of my comfort zone. Very strong.
Wow. Would have never thought these would be sooo good. Will reorder soon
So far, I've tried the Napalm and the Warhead. Everyone is talking about the Napalm, and wow, those are some amazing little sticks. For those who like them big, however, the Warhead is a maduro box-press toro, and I have to say it's just fabulous. The draw on it is a bit tight, but since I prefer the constricted draw of torpedoes to keep the heat down, it was right up my alley. It gave me the full-flavored taste of a Man O'War or a Diesel, but without the pepper on the lips. (I like some habanero salsa just like the next guy, but leave it in the kitchen.) If it's a money issue, go ahead and grab the little ones, but if you can spare a couple more bucks, definitely splurge for the Warheads.
I got some of the 601's in a motherload including an atom and I got to say, I was blown away. This is why I do samplers, you never know what they have in store for you. I would never have bought a 601 outright. But you can count on me getting some of the 7x70s in the very near future. Excellent stuff...
very nice flavor. not as bold as some say though. very easy draw (sitting at 66% for 4 months). medium to large amounts of smoke. very very smooth. 8.5/10
The Atomic is one of the best I've had....
I picked up a 5 pack of the Napalms on MMAO and wow...what a great cigar. It has all the finesse and subtlety of fishing with dynamite in a trout stream. Power baby! That's what this cigar is about. Tastes great, wonderful draw, solid construction...yup, this one moves into regular rotation.
I must say the 601 La Bomba literally bombed my taste buds when I tried it for the first time the other day. After the pre-light draw I was really expecting this cigar to be extra spicy but once I lit it up that was not the case. I was instantly thrown off by the overwhelming flavors of chocolate and coffee that rule this cigar. This is full bodied so one was enough for me at the time, but today I found myself grabbing for another La Bomba and enjoyed the same flavors that I found the first time around. Highly enjoyable. Count me in for a box.
Good stick, produces flavor instantaneously, also a full flavor smoke. If you like anything less than full flavor, far from mild, faaah-getta bottit. If you like a great in your face full flavored smoke then you found it. There are alot of flavors here, and you definetly won't be searching for them, they are on cue with the first draw.
Based on previous 601 purchases I decided to go ahead and try the new La Bomba. So I ordered up myself a 5 pack of the Naplams and all I can say is... "WOW". What a stick! This is without a doubt. The best new Cigar that I've had so far in 2013. I can't seem to smoke enough of these gems. It's very rare that I can smoke one after another of any Cigar. But I have smoked up to Three of these in one sitting! That's how much I like 'em. I think the price is ridiculously low for a Cigar of this caliber (sorry, hope I haven't ruined it for us). As other reviewers have stated. This ain't one for the light weights or feint of heart. This one will jump and slap you into attention. But in a subtle and refined way. Every element of this Cigars making is excellent. From the ligero long fillers to the oh so delicious Habano wrapper. It screams out near full bodied perfection. Closing here all I can say is this..."Go get you sum right now! If your into full bodied Cigars with full strength and full throttle flavor without the insane Pepper blast of others? Look no further. It has arrived.
Loved this cigar! Full bodied, peppery, and smooth. You won't be disappointed.
Wow! 601 Serie La Bomba. Cigar of The Year contender! Just perfect, I held the nub to barely a half-inch left and couldn't seem to say good-bye to this marvellous cigar. The aroma, flavor, burn are like no other I've experinced in 30 years of cigar smoking. This 601 Serie La Bomba will not let you forget about it-nor would you want to, well done 601-thanks C.I.!
One helluva of a great cigar! Good enough to smoke back-to-back-to-back.
I have to agree with JL; I'm sitting here, smoking an Atom, and it is absolutly SUPERB!!! Damn this is one good cigar...wow!
I've now smoked an entire 10-count box of the Napalm size (5x52). First of all, needless to say, mild smokers need not apply, move along please. For you guys who like power though, this is a fantastic stick. Construction is first-rate, the wrapper is oily and delicious-looking and the burn is even and perfect. No corner-cutting nonsense here boys, this thing is put together RIGHT. You get a high level of power but WITHOUT the huge blast of pepper you'd expect. There's some pepper but most of the strength comes from the immensely full "body". Try it and you'll see what I mean. After finishing my first box, I immediately bought 10 more boxes for long-term storage, because this thing has fantastic aging potential.
