Nice, nice (Don Pepin Garcia Blue). Spice, spice....Nice!
What a wonderful cigar (DPG Blue). Indeed a full-bodied cigar, with a blast of pepper to start, but it transitions to quite a flavorful and smooth smoke afterwards. In otherwords, one hour of smoker's bliss. Yes, I'll be buying this one again and again.
What a pleasant smoke. The Don Pepin Garcia Blue, leather, coco, deep ground coffee, spice and pepper. The shifting flavors mean they all, at one point, take center stage. Just delicious. Highly recommended.
WoW!! One of the most satisfying smokes I have ever had (Don Pepin Garcia Blue). Not only the most delicious looking, but tasting to. Pepper at the first puff, it mellows out inot a great smoke that just seems to last the entire afternoot.
Got this one with the Cigar of The Month in May!!
First time trying the Cigar of The Month but by showing me the cigars you will send me are quality, I will renew my subscription indefinetly.
In my opinion, this is the BEST cigar currently being produced. I smoke other brands as well, but always find myself comparing them to this cigar. The other brands always come up short. The construction, flavor, draw and burn exceed all others that I have smoked. Its best attribute is that it burns cool all the way down to the nub. If you are a true cigar lover, then this cigar will not disappoint you.
Very nice cigar (Don Pepin Garcia Blue)except for some unevening burning on three different ones..two different sizes. The triple cap is a plus.
Follow-up to my last review. The blue label is a great cigar when you can get smoke out of it. I have tossed three I have attempted to smoke because they were rolled too tightly. Great flavor!
My favorite cigars are Man O' War Ruination, Diesel Unlimited, and Cain Habano F Series. I used to smoke the DPG Blue labels years ago and then got caught up in trying other bands, thereby forgetting about the Blues. I orderd a box of the Toro Gordos and smoked one after one day in my humidor. It was phenomenal!! It had that "cuban twang" that I remembered and had forgotten how satisfying it truly was. The DPG Blue Label is a great full bodied cigar that can be appreciated by any cigar smoker who loves strength, richness and smoothness, delivered in an elegant way. I highly recommend the Toro Gordos!
Excellent construction, the wrapper is beautiful. (Don Pepin Garcia Blue) The cigar starts out peppery and has a unique flavor but begins to mellow out with a great finish which stays cool all the way to the end. The few that I smoked a little bit of a tight of a draw. All in all its a great smoke.
How can something be so peppery, yet so smooth and creamy at the same time? It sounds impossible, but that is the best way I can describe this cigar. I just had my first one and I can't wait for the next one. It is definitely in the top five of all the cigars I have ever smoked. Do yourself a favor and try these!
The latest batch of DP Blue Generoso's are the best I've ever had. Nice dark wrappers. Solid construction. Outstanding Pepin Peppery flavors throughout the entire stick, right down to the nub. Best Pepin's I've had in a while.
Although I've only had one of these (with more coming), I can concur with staff and customer reviews--this is a cigar among cigars and one can definitely tell the skill with which this was blended and constructed. Outstanding on all accounts with a lovely and complex bouquet of flavors complemented by effortless burn and draw. Highly recommended for those who want a luxury cigar.
This cigar can hold it's own with the best of the them. Lots of great flavor with a very decent burn. A very high quality cigar.
When ever I put the flame to a DPG Blue everything else just goes away for 90 min or so. Is that not why we smoke great cigars to begin with?
These are my favorite mid-priced cigars out there. Great craftsmanship, great draw and great flavor. I've had a box in the bottom of my humidor for about 14 months. Up until a week ago, I had not smoke one in about 6 months. They were great day one but after a year plus rest, they are simply amazing which I'm sure will continue. Stock up!
I would like to start off with saying, "I'm absolutely enthralled with the toro size." just received two 10 packs and the first two I have smoked are absolutely one of the best I have smoked. My humidors are stocked with padilla Miami, Padilla Dominus, monticristo media noche, graycliff, swagg, all of the man o war varieties, and now this beautiful work of art! I'll just put it to you this way, this will be a staple in the rotation. I can't wait to see what some age will do to this cigar. It's the half off version to a My Father or some others out there that are in that same category... Lots of pepper in the beginning, then the ligero's tame out a bit into some very smooth, sweet, spicy and rich espresso flavors. I did try a robusto, and this toro knocks it out of the park!!! Totally different taste and quality all together... Give it another shot (person at CI who reveiwed the robusto)... The toro rocks!!!
So I was on the fence about ordering these with so many other higher rated smokes out there and finally took the plunge. I lit one up straight out of the box when it arrived and was amazed by the wall of smoothe smoke and ever changing flavors. The last third totally blew me away... This is easily in my top three! Will definitely be ordering more!
Great cigar. My go to. Preference is the generosos.
Don Pepin blue labels are by far my favorite cigar. These are the cigars that took me from smoking cheap stuff because I didn't know better to these and better. The Blue is incredible from start to finish. It has a full bodied flavor without being over powering. I highly recommend these cigars to anyone from a beginner to an aficionado.
Don Pepin Garcia, This cigar did not hit the mark for all the hype it has got. It starts off with a hint of spice and leather. Which fades into a woody short finish. This smoke is medium to full body with a good draw and short finish.
I really do not know how it got #8?? There are a lot of smokes that would rate higher. I think the name on the band helps this one along. People are afraid to say what they think. I for one did not care much for it. I would not run out and buy one. How ever with that said I have had worse. Many people may find this a great smoke. That is why it is fun trying out all the cigars I can. Still the smoothest thing I have ever had the pleasure smoking was the Ashton Heritage or the Cabinet.. Both are very smooth and if you think the Pepin is smooth you should try the Ashton. Just my two and 1/2 cents worth. Enjoy your smoke.
I'm a huge fan of Don Pepin cigars including the My Father line. Finally, I just got around to trying these. Wow, what an amazing cigar. I just wish I ordered more of them from the Joe's daily deal :(
Like all Don Pepin/My Father cigars, this one is very well constructed with a nice triple cap and packed with dynamic flavors. I love the silky texture of the smoke itself and the flavors I note are creamy cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate, and an anise or cinammon burst. Solid upper-medium to full body.
I love the DPG Blue. Great flavor and smoke. It leaves the palate wanting more. A really good cigar.
This is my favorite cigar. Great draw and smooth throughout.
This honestly is a perfect blend. I can see why this has a ranking of number 8 in the world top 25. This was the first actually (fine) cigar I ever smoked, given to me by a friend, and no I will absolutely not give these to anybody, I enjoy them that much. This cigar is what made me a cigar smoker. Anyway I've tried several stronger varieties like Man O' War Ruination for example, which is great, and many, many others, but I always return to this toasty, yet perfectly light enough, gem. Just buy them, you will not regret it.
Picked up a Generoso (6 x 50) locally to try it. Completely different experience from what I had been expecting given all the hype about how good it is. From first light until the nub it was dry (not the cigar itself, but the effect on my mouth). The smoke literally sucked all the moisture out of my tongue and the roof of my mouth. Whatever flavors were present were almost immediately subsumed in the dry finish. This was my second Pepin blend tried (La Reloba Habano was the first). I don't like either of these blends.
Love these cigars!
I wouldn't put this cigar in the full classification. It's somewhere between full and medium. In flavor it's warm roasted cashews and pepper. It's easy on the coffee and more on the leather. Has a very long finish that pleasantly stays with you through the day. Extremely well made and the burn is correct. Outstanding quality and flavor.
I have smoked many cigarillos in my day. This for me is one, if not THE best cigarillo out there. Worth a try!
CLASSIC, Boxworthy, nuff said, just go buy some.
Just got these. Lit one up and they are tasty. Thanks CI!
Mixed results. Smoked 6 of them, 3 were way too tight, draw was minimal and therefore unacceptable. The other 3 were better. My opinion... when CA rates a cigar like this so high, manufacturer races to roll a ton of them and quality goes down.
I've made these part of my weekly rotation a true smokers passion. Oaky, earthy, leathery, semi sweet cedar, another Pepin great.
my favorite cigar. However, several of these cigars were very dry and the wrappers were cracked. Although I have purchased several orders fro CI, I was not happy with this shipment.
