The buzz has been flying over the reintroduction of the Tatuaje Tattoo series, which originally appeared in 2011 in a limited edition version. The cigar was massively popular, and for good reason, a great blend without the boutique price tag. There is no question why the new Tattoo should be any different, seeing as how it comes with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and an enticing mix of Nicaraguan filler leaves. Medium bodied and bursting with notes of cocoa, leather, pepper and a slight sweetness. To Tatuaje, all we have to say is this: welcome back.
“This is a great smoke. Not to strong or mild, a good medium smoke. Went great with a single malt.”

“Wow! What a pepper flavor bomb. And only 5 bucks. No wonder they are out of stock. When they come back in, you better run and grab yourself some. I had the robusto. Unbelievable.”

“So all in all, This is one of those cigars that is just really good for the money. If you're stuck on Padron, try this. With that deflating comment, now I would like to tell you why this is better than any other $5 Padron or Fuente you're going to smoke. The first couple times you smoke it, you're going to wonder if they got the pricing wrong with this cigar. It has the nuances of cigars that cost a few bucks more. It is a Tatuaje, ergo it's a Pete Johnson, ergo it's a Don Pepin (My Father) cigar. It is Tatuaje at the very core. Take all the stuff Tatuaje cigars are hyped for, and strip all the fancy complexity away from his other blends, and all the simplicities will sum up to this cigar. It is still characteristic Pete/Pepin with the great combo of pepper and cream. A thick profile with nuances of the fancier Tatuaje/My Father cigars makes this $5 stick enjoyable and helps it to stand out from the rest.
Obviously it's not going to match the complexity of the higher end models, but if you want to get out of the rut of the "domestic beers" of the cigar world (aka Padrons, Macanudos, Fuentes) and want to try the crafts, the boutiques, this is a good starting point.”

“This is the best $5.00 cigar I have ever had. Tons of smoke and smooth. You cannot go wrong having this cigar in your humidor.”

“This is what I think of when I'm thinking "Yard Gar". It has just enough character to keep you going and is wallet friendly. Box of 50?! Out of the question, but a 5pk or two every now and then wouldn't be bad.”
