No one is more deserving of praise than Benjamin “Benji” Menendez, a literal living legend with more than six decades of dedicated experience in the cigar biz. Now that Menendez is officially retiring, a blend that was befitting of his extraordinary legacy had to be concocted and released. That’s where Partagas Benji Homage comes into play.
Each handmade is carefully wrapped in white tissue paper and features a pair of identical bands on each stick. Flavorful and complex, it features a blend of Dominican, Honduran, and Mexican long-fillers layered inside a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. A bold, blemish-free Honduran wrapper leaf with an oily sheen holds it all together. This handmade is a real smoke-factory, so prepare to be surrounded by thick ‘n’ chewy clouds throughout the length of the experience. And pepper....oh boy is there pepper, which is accompanied by notes of wood and sweetness. This cigar is full of personality, and most importantly, it serves as a fitting tribute to a true icon of the cigar industry.
