One fine maduro.
La Jugada means “the move” or “the play” in Spanish, and according to founders of the Moya Ruiz brand Danny Moya and Nelson Ruiz, this speaks to their love of playing dominoes. The cigars are all rolled by hand in Esteli, Nicaragua at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Factory using only the most choice tobacco leaves. So go right ahead and set your expectations high for this one.
La Jugada Prieto is rife with complexity. Draped in a dark and alluring San Andres maduro wrapper that’s gleaming with oils, this standout also features a Nicaraguan binder and treasure trove of hand-selected Nicaraguan long-fillers. The flavors are fierce, with notes of wood, coffee, spice, and rich chocolate all in attendance. It reminds me of my favorite coffee blend....dependable, delicious, and ridiculously easy to enjoy when and where I want it.
