Consistent as clockwork.
Padron cigars are a series of robust Nicaraguan handmades boasting a deep and complex flavor. This brand continually gets high marks for consistency, and as such enjoys a loyal and enduring fan base.
Padron cigars are Nicaraguan puros, as all of the leaves utilized to create the cigar are cultivated from the fertile soils of Esteli, Nicaragua. This mesmerizing mixture of hearty tobaccos produces a rich, robust smoke and offers a complex array of flavor capped off with a sweet finish. The blend is available in two equally impressive varieties : natural and maduro. Best of all, each size is reasonably priced. When all the cards are put on the table, Padron cigars are hard to top, period.
Within its sea of 90+ ratings, Padron earned as high as a 93, noting: "Each puff of this big, fat cigar layers the palate with flavors ranging from toast and coffee bean to more refined espresso notes and a touch of caramel."
“I tried Padron cigars in the 1960’s after the Miami cigar stores no longer had any Havana cigars left, following the Cuban embargo. I found the Padrons then did not have the full, rich flavor of the Havana’s I was trying to replace – although I returned to the Padron store several times because I liked the man who sold them. When I heard people praising them in later years, I assumed they appealed to those who liked mild cigars. A friend then gave me a Padron 1964 anniversary and I found it better, but still not rich or full enough for my taste, while being very expensive. Now, however, I have tried the Padron 6000 Maduro torpedo and found it an excellent cigar, with a full rich taste and aroma, and that intensified flavor that truly great cigars have as you reach the end. It actually tastes very much like the much more expensive H. Upmann Havana Especial Reserva 2009 Maduro torpedo cigars I bought in Paris last month, and is also quite similar to my favorite cigars: the Oliva Cain Maduro torpedos – although the latter cost slightly less for larger (6x54 versus 5.5x52) and longer lasting torpedos. However, if these Padron 6000’s were the only cigars I could get, I could be quite happy with them.”WD of MIAMI, FL
“Just had one on the beach. It was as perfect as the day. It's December and it's cold everywhere but here. So I imagine it's hard to enjoy one without a man cave except here . So come on down .nothing better than a Padron , a sunset and a cold frosty one. 1st rounds on me so c,mon down”JD of NOKOMIS, FL
“Palmas Maduro: Very easy to light. Excellent construction draw and burn. Flawless white ash and heavy smoke output. Medium strength with medium to full flavors. Slight tobacco sweetness on the lips with flavors of deep semi-sweet cocoa, dark coffee and caramel. The occasional slight black pepper tingle with the medium length finish after each draw. Slight strength increase at half way point but medium to full flavors remain the same. A very consistent cigar.”PC of LEXINGTON, SC
“never had such a smooth well balanced cigar at this price. 5x50 perfect draw, construction, even burn, white ash......to me, just a great smoke#### ”TB of winona, MN
“Very very good cigar any time of day. I've only sampled the maduro so far. The 6000 and 7000 series. Will likely be ordering 5000 series in the future. Good construction, excellent burn. The 7000 lasted me about an hour and twenty. Burn line was razor sharp. Ash held about an inch and a half before needing to be discarded. Probably would have been longer but I couldn't put it down. The caramel sweetness remained through the entire burn. Not too much pepper, just enough to know its there. It's a good sweet and spicy stick with a medium flavor and body eventually progressing to medium to full in the second half. Coffee notes throughout. Just overall a good smoke. I feel I can hand these to my regular smoke buddies as well as to first time smokers and have good results. For the price they'll find a place in a more weekly rotation rather than a daily. I really enjoyed the flavor and body of this smoke.”JR of Reston, VA
“....I just didn't care for the flavor it produced. The cigars I have in my corner are ones like San Cristobal including the Elegancia, My Father, Camacho. most from the Garcia family, Diesel, Davidoff Corizone and Double R, and ones that are not expensive at all such as the Indian Tabac Classic. For me, the Padron had a harsh flavor that only got worse the further you smoked. In addition, on the 5 pack I ordered two of them had really bad burn problems. After trying to keep one lit I finally took my cutter and cut about an inch off of the end that was burning. Under the ash was a hole a little smaller than a pencil eraser doing all of the work. The tobacco all around this small hole wasn't burning, just this deep small cavity. It may be that I received a bad batch which can happen to any one at any time. I'm still going to try the more expensive 1926 and 1964 Padron at some point.”DM of Hixson, TN
“Pardon is the best cigar brand out there. I definitely love the Padron 2000 Natural (Robusto). From the time I smoked my first one, I just knew one this was my cigar and I never looked back.”CV of Alvin, TX
“Rich in flavor, burns evenly and last a long time. I like this cigar.”EW of Virginia Beach, VA
“I'm not the writer that some of you guys are, but I do like a good cigar. So here goes . I was out on a cigar outing with my son, who by the way got me started smoking cigars . We had hit our second cigar shop, and my son was pushing me to try a Opus X. Well I splurged and bought one and also a Padron 26 and 64 and a Padron natural churchill. I smoked the 26 there and fell in love, best damm cigar I've had to date, the 64 and churchill went into my humidor along with the Opus X. To make a long story short the 64 was really good [ not the 26 but good ] , and the natural churchill was right in line with the 26,. I'am now a Padron snob....”SQ of Scottsburg, IN
“The greatest day in and day out smoke!”JD of RANCHO SANTA FE, CA
“Pardon 7000 is the best cigar of all cigars... I don't care if anyone disagrees with me...Pardon 7000 has an unparalleled flavor...its burn is always even and it lasts a long time if I leave it sitting while grabbing or doing something...no other cigar matches its intensity and overall satisfaction...simply the cigar to end all cigars...nuff said!”JH of Bernardsville, NJ
“Nicaragua is putting out some of the best cigars on the market today, and Padron is the undisputed king of Nicaraguan cigars. Nothing more needs to be said.”ND of Morristown, TN
“This was an absolute jewel about 12 years ago. You could go to the local cigar stores and buy a box and it would be great.”CP of BELLEAIR BLUFFS, FL
“I first met Padron cigars five years ago and it soon became the only cigar that I would smoke. ”JM of Georgetown, TX
“Here's a smoke that delivers! Impeccable draw, steady, even burn and in-your-face flavor. Sip your favorite rye after a couple of good puff...let that sit on your palate for a few seconds...now puff again...retrohale...who mellows who? Who brings out the best in who? Just plain, "WOW!" All I know for certain is that, with Padron, I scored today.”PS of Decatur, GA
“Probably the most consistent brand I've smoked. I usually go for the 3000 Maduro. It's always the exact same experience, which is a good thing. I might describe the 3000 Maduro as earthy and quite strong. Always perfect burn and always a perfect draw. The 5000 Maduro has more of a wooden taste to it, sweet wood. I've sampled a number of brands and often when I buy the same thing again my experience differs. But with Padron the way they tasted the very first time is the way they taste now, for that reason it's my goto when I want a no non-sense good smoke.”SR of Frederick, MD
“Went thru a box of 7000 Maduro's less than a year ago, liked the experience, and placed reorder along with some less expensive Ramon Bueso, Genesis... The Genesis have arrived, taking up residence in my humidor. That tease Padron remains backordered (at almost triple the price of RB) weeks after ordering. They must be doing something right to have that sort of following. I'm still awaiting a return call from Cameron Diaz too. Patience, patience, patience.”ER of Herndon, VA
“Arrived In Good Shape As Usual.:)”MF of BOGALUSA, LA
“These sticks are fantastic. Got them sitting in my humi, biding my time.”DM of WESTPORT, MA
