Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve no doubt encountered a Padilla cigar or two. Known for crafting small-batch boutique handmades, the brand is no stranger to the limelight or 90+ ratings. And the good news is the man behind the brand Ernesto Padilla, has recently joined forces with the Oliva family to deliver some new and impressive specimens.
Reserva Maduro is carefully crafted in the Oliva family's esteemed factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Dark and alluring, this cigar is bursting with long-fillers from Esteli and Jalapa. Rich, fertile tobaccos grown in black volcanic soils and then patiently fermented. Draped over this hearty core, a San Andres maduro wrapper, skillfully aged to achieve a dark even color and bold character. Together, these tobaccos strike up a swarm of smoke containing smooth but bold notes of coffee, dark chocolate, espresso, and a spicy-sweet finish. Oh yes enjoyable indeed, add another feather in Padilla's impressive cap.
I'm not a cigar expert, so I'm not going to write some sort of adjective filled expose here, but I know what I like and I like this cigar. The construction is solid, the burn is even, and the flavor is rich from beginning to end. I've come to expect this from Padilla, and this cigar is no exception. If you like a good maduro, I think you will be impressed with this one.

So far this is my favorite cigar. I've had $1 'specials' and $25 quality cigars but the Padilla keep getting my money.
