From blunder to blowout.. In our industry, mistakes happen. We've received 'refill' boxes, wrong sizes, empty boxes (seriously), wrong blends, and so much more. We're used to mistakes....but, I'll be honest, this most recent shipment is downright fubar. We received a nice-sized shipment of La Estrella Cubana, a top-seller oozing with maduro-y goodness. Here's the rub: the sizes were wrong and the blend is significantly stronger and more flavorful.
So what is 'Fubar Fuerte' you ask? We asked the factory this very question. Turns out, these medium to full-bodied handmades combine a Cuban-seed blend of aged Nicaraguan long-fillers inside a zesty Nicaraguan Habano binder. On the outside, a dark and oily Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper was applied. The blend details may be off for La Estrella Cubana, but for those seeking a big, meaty maduro: the flavor is spot-on, and then some. Each of these cigars dishes out a rich, meaty bouquet with dense notes of each, nuts, and toast. Toast and coffee bean complete each puff, while spicy-sweet notes linger long on the finish.
