Introduced in 2006, the Insignia marked the 10th Anniversary of Bahia cigars. An impressive feat no doubt, Bahia is now well into its teenage years, and continues to produce some of the industry's finest small-batch blends.
For their 10 year anniversary, Tony Borhani of Bahia knew he needed to create an extraordinary cigar. A cigar that would truly capture all that had been, and could be Bahia, and boy did he hit the nail on the head. Carefully crafted in Nicaragua, each Insignia is cloaked in an exceedingly well-aged Ecuador Habano wrapper, concealing a mixture of vintage Costa Rican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. This aged recipe produces a cigar that is medium to full in body, with plenty of well-balanced flavor in tow. Distinct notes of oak, earth, tobacco, and sweet spices linger long on the finish, as the core remains creamy and smooth throughout. From time to time, an underlying peatiness enters the fray, adding a surprising twist to this celebratory blend. Interesting, complex, and a real treat, the Bahia Insignia 10th Anniversary is the prime example of Bahia's craft.
