Room 101 Big Payback

Payback doesn’t always have to be a bitch.

And this is once again proven by Room 101’s newest project, Big Payback. At first the name certainly makes you feel like you should be looking over your shoulder, but this payback is really just Matt Booth’s way of repaying all of his customers for years of loyalty. Big Payback includes a line of premium handmades from a 5”x50 up to a 7”x70, all offered at an attractive price that’s way less than what this enticing blend calls for. It’s Mr. Booth’s way of saying thank you, and I for one enthusiastically reply with, “You’re welcome!”

In this endeavor, the makers really got their hands dirty in the fertile soils of Nicaragua. All three components – wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos – hail from Nicaragua. To the delight of many, there will be no cap on production here. A massive cultivation took place for this release, and it produced enough to supply the thirst of consumers indefinitely. With a complex blend of pepper, spice, and a pleasing natural sweetness, “indefinitely” sounds quite good to me. And with these hefty vitolas, you can enjoy these bargains for hours on end.

Great smoke
I've found the longer I smoke cigars the more I enjoy bigger ring gauge and I just couldn't pass up an 8x80. This is a very well rounded cigar with a smooth draw a great flavor. It will become a new constant in my humidor.

Very uneven burn. Poor construction over all. No future purchases for me.

Great smoke
I have been smoking cigars for 35 years. This is now the only cigar I smoke. Mild easy draw long smoking. Sweet. You will love this one.

Arrived dry
Great cigar in a beautiful box. Unfortunately about half the box is a waste because of super cracked, dry wrappers. Not sure if this is a manufacturer problem or storage issue but I'm pretty disappointed !

WARNING LABEL NEEDED ;)
WOW, this cigar should come with a warning label, Strong, very strong. This bad boy kicked my butt good, and I am no slouch, been smoking for many years. The tastes is very good, reminds me some of Rocky Patel edge in Maduro size battalion. But even stronger then Padron 80th anniversary double perfecto, the only other cigar to make me green behind the gills. But the payback made that cigar pale in comparison, the payback really paid me back I felt like it was a cigar given to me by an enemy, my mistake was under estimating its strength, so I smoked it down to the nub in about 40 minutes, big mistake very powerful heavy on the nicotine side totally kicked my butt for about 4 hours I was nauseous, cold sweats, salivating continuously, totally feeling sick that I literally had to Google nicotine poisoning and overdose and weigh the options of whether I should go to the ER, this cigar is not for the newbie or amateur smoker, an extremely powerful stick probably the strongest thing I have ever had and I have had more than most smoking everything under the sun, including Cubans, Nicaraguan, and many sticks from all over the world, I have never encountered one with quite the punch that this had, yes maybe I smoked it a bit quick and underestimated it but wow what a knockout punch. And I am a daily smoker, all Habano and Maduro with some Sumatran, hammering down 3 or 4 a day. recommended for the regular experienced smoker, with a word of caution, this cigar should not be smoked from beginning to end, should be smoked slow over time, and maybe even put out and relit later. This $5.99 stick can replace a 4 cigar a day habit with just this one in a day.

Great tasting cigar
This cigar is excellent in flavor and construction. It is very tasty and burns evenly. It has the "wow" factor. It will definitely be in my rotation of cigars. The Big Payback is totally awesome.

room 101 big payback
I first tried this cigar at my local cigar shop in the larger gauge. very nice smoke but a 70 ring gauge was a bit much. I ordered the smaller version from you guys. thanks cigar International for having such a wide selection.

Customer Testimonials
Dark flavor, adequate taste, enjoyable at the beginning, but nothing that will blow you away. The first time I smoked one I felt kind of sick afterward, thought it was something I ate, but after a second try, felt sick again. Have three left, not going to go near it again.
I got the Chevala size; so far I've smoked around 10 or 11 of them and am completely blown away. The cigar starts out with a small white pepper kick with a rather short finish, but it smooths out into a pleasant woody quality that lasts throughout the whole cigar, as well as a tobacco-ish sweetness that pairs with the woody character. The second third turns into a more earthy dominated taste, with hints of wood and that sweet taste still lingering on the tongue. The last third is my favorite, with even a coffee taste dominating at times. It doesn't hurt to also know that Cigar Aficianado highly recommends this cigar as one of the best values of 2014.
By far one of the best cigars out there for the money. The taste gets better and better with each draw. By the time you get to burning the tips of your fingers you will still puff away! Very earthy cigar with a slight pepper taste. Keep up the good work Room 101!
