Herrera Esteli’s sophomore effort lives up to the hype!

Willy Herrera began his craft as a small manufacturer in Little Havana, Miami and his talents quickly landed him a job as Drew Estate’s master blender. Drafting off of the success of his first release under the Drew Estate umbrella, Herrera Esteli Norteno has finally arrived. This new release pays homage to Esteli, Nicaragua – the home of Drew Estate and Herrera Esteli. Norteno, meaning “northerners” in Spanish, was chosen as the name due to people from Esteli being referred to as ‘Nortenos.’

This full-bodied firecracker is no joke, boasting long-fillers from the fertile Nicaraguan growing regions of Jalapa and Esteli, both known for producing bold n’ hearty tobaccos. A Honduran binder cloaks these leaves with an oily San Andres Maduro wrapper draped over top. This long-anticipated release delivers bold notes of pepper and chocolate that endure to the finish and are backed by hints of cashew, cocoa, and espresso. Powerful, ultra-flavorful, and satisfying to the last puff, the second Herrera is easily as good as the first. And if you’ve tried the original, you know that says a hell of a lot.

Drew Estate Herrera Esteli Norteno received a well-deserved 93-rating, noting: "Large and pressed, this rectangular cigar has a lush, opulent draw that leaves rich intonations of milk chocolate, cocoa bean and nougat on the palate. Balanced and delicious."

The Drew Estate Norteno Fino was everything I expected. Excellent, full bodied and the finish was delicious. I did not want to put the cigar out, perfect smoke! Drw Estate hit in on the nose again, I am also a big fan of the Herrera Esteli.

Fantastic smoke.
Enjoyed this stick last night at the Smoking Tent Event where Drew Estate was showcasing this cigar. I generally gravitate toward medium bodies cigars so I was hesitant to give this a try. I was blown away! The flavor of this cigar was so rich, yet I didn't feel like it was overpowering like some other maduro's I've tried. Perfectly box pressed to say the least. Highly recommended.

This is areally tasty cigar. Be forewarned, if you don't like box-pressed cigars, stay away from this little guy. It's kind of like smoking a delicious tongue depressor.

Great place to grab a nice cigar while you shop for other nice cigars. Grab a drink with the wife and relax a bit. Love this place.

Great flavors, great feel, and one of my favorites...
This cigar is packed with great flavors that I think are unique to this blend. I love the feel of these in my hand. They're firm and feel dense, yet have a great draw. The smoke is thick and smooth. I buy these by the box. They'll always be in my top 10.

Like a Lays potato chip… one is never enough.
Wow… this is one of my all time favorites. The only Drew that really impresses me. Strong and smooth throughout. I love the mineral tones. Good feel and a great burn. I normally save the great ones for the weekend but I HAVE to dig into these a couple of times a week. I need to get a box so I'm not ordering every week.

Customer Testimonials
Smoked the 6"x50 Toro Especial. Excellent dark cigar. Great draw and burn. Very good medium to full flavor. Definitely worth a try. Rated '92'.
Love 'em! Padron watch out.
A nice cigar with a nutty taste on the end. A good tasting cigar indeed.
This is a great smoke from beginning to end. To the nub with this one...on my favorite list.
I tried out the Lonsdale Norteno as I am a big fan of Drew Estate and a huge fan of the lonsdale/lancero size cigars. It was good, but I was expecting more. Draw was a bit tight; not much smoke. Flavor was fine; kind of grassy/bland. I expected it to open up a bit passing the middle to final third of the cigar, but not much changed. It was very consistent throughout. Flavor was fine, but overall I was not impressed. For the price I will stick with my Liga #9s.
