Sam Leccia Luchador

Better than Nacho’s Luchador!

This is the third blend from the Sam Leccia camp, and appropriately it was released on Cinco de Mayo, a nod to the fact that “luchador” means “wrestler” in Spanish. This is Sam Leccia Luchador, and it will hit your palate like a folding chair to the dome. So much complexity is packed into every cigar it’s almost unbelievable, but once you try one, you may find yourself chanting, "Lu-cha-dor....Lu-cha-dor."

This highly exotic handmade from Sam Leccia employs a never-seen-before mix of tobacco leaves, and consequently you can plan on being hit hard with a highly unique flavor profile that vacillates wildly from spicy to sweet and everywhere in between. This 5-country blend includes long-fillers from Pennsylvania, Honduras, and Nicaragua, surrounded by an Ecuadorian Habano binder and delivers bold notes of espresso, pepper and tobacco. The cherry on this sundae is the San Andres wrapper, which contributes generously to the medium to full-bodied experience.

Great full body cigar
The loco perfecto tasted uniquely blended and started with peppery flavor that evolved nicely throughout the burn. The last couple of inches increased flavor intensity and I had trouble wanting to put it out at the end. Burn was very even with nice ash and had a draw that I usually only expect from a top shelf smoke.

Decent for the price
Picked up a box one sale. For the price I was extremely happy. Good everyday stick

Above average smoke below average price
Slight sweetness, nutty and woody flavors followed by a kick to the head of spice! Great smoke output, cool looking band and enjoyable flavors. Not the best burn line but excellent where it counts.

Leccia is amazing!
I discovered these sticks at a local liquor store and was so excited to see them on CI at such an amazing price. Nice medium to full that pops with flavor from start to finish!

One right out of the
One right out of the box was a bit harsh but letting them breathe in the humidor the last month has mellowed that out and it's a decent smoke, more of an everyday, nothing special stick with an easy draw and lots of pillowy smoke

Great Cigar!
All of Sam Leccia's cigars are good, but the Luchador is fantastic! Just the right combination of smooth and bold flavors highlighted by the San Andreas wrapper.

nice smooth, silky smoke
The first cigar I pulled from the box made me wonder if the reviews belonged to another cigar, but after trying another two I got what I thought was the cigar that is talked about. The smoke is silky smooth, but yet still has some body underneath. The draw is perfect, it makes you want to keep drawing because it is effortless and the smoke has such nice texture. It has nice flavors, but I wish it was more of a flavor bomb, the flavors are subdued, and possibly needs more humidor time. Most good cigars develop in the humidor, so I am going to try one every few weeks/months to see what they do. Not much to fault on these cigars, beautiful wrapper, no issuse, great draw, nice aromas and flavors, fairly full bodied. At the current price, a good deal.

Great Stick!
I REALLY like this stick, Its what I would call a medium but with a kick, tons of complexity (at least to my pallet) and at a great price...Great everyday smoke!

Pleasantly surprised
Well made with nice burn and good volume of smoke. Nice full flavor, but not real strong. There are better cigars out there, but at this price Luchador is worth having in your rotation. Box arrived in good condition. Would buy again.

Nice find
Got a 10 pack of these. Always willing to try something different. Glad I did. Med to full spice hit my tongue along with a nice volume of smoke. First quarter also moved the flavor to the back of my throat. White-gray ash held on until I tapped it. It smooth out for the rest of the smoke. Found it well balanced and enjoy smoking these.

Fragile caps!
Great flavor and burn, but I have never seen a cap break apart on a cigar like this one does. Out of a 10pk, 8 caps have blown up in the first 3rd of the burn.

I'm a pretty big fan of these cigars, good full bodied smoke.
Customer Testimonials
Tough to describe, easy to smoke. Leather & tannins prominent flavor for the first half with just enough pepper & spice, occasional hints of sweetness & coffee. Well constructed, nice firm draw allowing for a smooth consistent burn. Good volume of thick oily smoke. If you are hunting for something a little different in all the right ways look no further.
I was very pleased with the immediate taste of this cigar. A small amount of pepper and spice. A perfect draw and burn. A tiny bit bit of a grassy taste which can be taken care of with a little aging. An instant success. This cigar simply kicks butt to another cigar that used to be a favorite of mine. But it "nubbed" me the wrong way so this new Luchador is now my favorite, a grand slam and a must try. I'm buying two boxes; one to age and one to smoke right now.
This is a great stick. Complex smoke with notes of white pepper, leather, espresso all within the 1/3. Pepper picks up a bit near the middle but not overpowering. The last third builds in strength and complexity with pepper dying down slightly and notes of leather, espresso, and cocoa coming out. This stick is at the upper end of Med-Full and even teetering on full in both body and strength. The smoke is very similar to a Man O' War or even a CAO Extreme. Excellent smoke. I was not expecting much given the silly wrapper and name. But all I can say now is my money is on Luchador Sam and my seats are ringside!
This is one of the best cigars I have smoked this year! Go get some; you'll be glad you did.
Talk about a great stick to have in your humidor. I love the pepper and espresso flavor throughout the smoke. It has a great draw and overall taste great. I've smoked a few of these and plan to smoke many more.
Brother Sam is dropkicking my taste buds right out of Arena Mexico with this masked superstar.
The stick has some nice tooth with instant notes of spice lingering with cocoa/coffee type notes right on light up. Not even at the 1/2 inch mark, and the flavors are building and developing. Razor sharp burn with the espresso and spice notes morphing in and out, what a fabulous cigar and would recommend to anyone a fan of med-full bodied cigars!
Wow, this cigar named after the famed Luchador wrestlers lives up to its name and then some. there is no wrestling with this beauty. Easy light, draw and flavor that will have the 1-2-3 on the competition. A nice dark wrapper very similar to the world famous Padron. The ash holds well and the draw is smooth, starts with a bit of a pepper then mellows out to a earthy medium-mild smoke. I have smoked all four of these cigars and by far I favor the 60 ring. Once fired up it lasted one hour plus and I smoked it right down to the finger burning nub. So, unmask the mystery of the Luchador and grab several of these, you will not be disappointed in the quality, flavor or the smoke. I predict this Luchador cigar to be the "New Heavy Weight Champion" in the cigar world, one tough to beat for the price, make-up and outstanding flavor and burn. Try some, I do not think you will be disappointed.
An absolutely amazing stick. Full on flavor, medium to full strength, very nice balance, and the ash held well. I am looking forward to purchasing more of them, and I fully recommend them to anyone.
