One of the most intriguing new brands of the recent past has got to be Foundry Tobacco Company. With the vision of creating a brand that was 100% unique, Foundry is quite literally nothing like anything else on the market. Convention is out the window. Tradition is out the door.
Compounds, Elements, and Musings are twelve batches that take their inspiration from the periodic table. It would be remiss of me to not mention the packaging....in a word, stunning, and highly collectible to say the least. It’s a small-batch boutique collection that has a lot of fanfare surrounding it, so it’d be best to act with haste on this treasure trove of awesome sauce. In other words, get them while you still can. These arrivals are the new batch, released in 2014.
Krypton - Krypton boasts a U.S. grown Broadleaf wrapper that glistens with oils. A Brazilian binder holds in place long-fillers from the Dominican, Honduras, and a third long-filler that the master blenders of Foundry chose to keep secret. Medium to full-bodied, this prize gives you one leg up on the man of steel himself.
Sodium - With subtle hints of salt, Sodium reveals a pristine Brazilian wrapper leaf hugging a binder that remains a mystery. On the inside, a cocktail of Dominican and Honduran long-fillers result in a medium-bodied show-stopper.
Calcium - A firm Cameroon binder aids in Calcium’s perfect construction and ample flavors, and also holds long-fillers from San Andres, Nicaragua, and an additional secret long-filler snugly in place. A glistening Honduran wrapper leaf caps this medium to full-bodied gem.
Americum – I’m not sure if it’s an element, but it’s damn tasty either way. A three country buffet of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican long-fillers are covered by a well-aged Honduran binder and wrapper leaf. Medium-bodied and patriotic, this concoction is primed for ignition.
Potassium - This mild to medium-bodied beauty is chock full of creamy nuances. Possessing an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with an Indonesian binder, Potassium is the perfect option to start the day with. Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers only add to the unique complexity of this masterpiece.
