Pirate's Gold Sale

Tasty....affordable...pirate themed....check, check, and CHECK.

After a short hiatus, the classic, top-selling Pirate’s Gold returns. And this legendary handmade is burning better than ever thanks to more (better) size options and the same great blend and quality you’ve grown to love over the last couple of decades.

Pirate's Gold was blended by Rolando Reyes, Sr. and crafted in the Puros Indios factory….and this affordable handmade compares favorably to much pricier brands. These densely-packed Honduran handmades boast a complex recipe of aged Dominican, Brazilian, and Nicaraguan long-fillers inside your choice of Ecuador or Maduro wrappers. The cigar is medium in body but full in flavor, dishing out tasty layers of earth, coffee, pepper, and spice throughout its slow burn. Quality normally reserved for $8 cigars, yours for less than $2 apiece. A downright steal.

I like to try something different now and then, who knows; you might find something you like. These sticks were well made and burned well, but to me bitter, sharp, and unsatisfying.

I smoked these for years when Rolando Sr. was making them - and they were, in my opinion, a VERY good cigar. Since his death, they are not as good. I do feel they will probably be better after some humidor aging, but only time will tell.

Solid inexpensive smoke!
Rolando would be proud! The quality construction and taste that are his trademarks are still there! This is a good medium smoke at a very inexpensive price! Really a hard to beat deal!

Pirates Beware
The first couple of cigars were good. I thought I found a cheap everyday cigar, but then the outside wrapper started to fall apart as I smoked them. Now the last 3 smoked perfectly. No a consistently wrap cigar. Not sure if I would buy them again. I'm up in the air about them.

Okay I guess - I'm no expert
I want a cigar like the Dutch Masters Panatella. But they are not around any more. I am looking for something that length and size and price. Can you recommend something from your store like that? Please? THanks

Great 'cheap' cigars
One of the best, if not the best, "cheap" cigars I have smoked. With many 'less expensive' cigars, after maybe 5 or 10 sticks, they become boring, and tend to lose their appeal. Not Pirate's Gold. This one, I can order again and again, and smoke daily, and still look forward to every single stick. I keep some of these on hand most of the time for my 'yard gar' or fishing trips, and just continue to enjoy them, stick after stick.

Tough draw
They were a bit dry. Once they sat in the humidor for a while, they got a bit better, but still a tough draw. Needed a nap after each one I was so tired.

great smoke for the price.
I am always exploring different cigars. Anyone can pay $10+ for a smoke and say that they smoked a great cigar. I look for the great smokes that are a bargain and Pirate's gold fits into that class. Great smoke.

best deal in the catalog
I've been a regular smoker of Pirate's Gold for several years. Always even burning, mellow, and extremely flavorful. Fantastic price! A solid go-to favorite.

Dissappointing and inconsistent
Not a very good cigar. Some seemed extremely tightly rolled, others like I was inhaling through a straw. They were offered at an extremely attractive price, and sometimes you get what you pay for.

A Very Good Cigar
I have been ordering these for a while and have never been disappointed. The draw and construction are always very good as well as the taste. I cant break down all the nuances for you except that it is smooth and never harsh. An excellent everyday smoke that will never leave you high and dry. I cant confirm this but I hear that for every bundle you buy CI makes a donation to the Old Disabled Pirates Home as well as a box of crackers to a homeless parrot... :)

Pirate's gold are pure GOLD!
I bought these because my Father in law told me how much he liked them, and missed them, since they stopped making them. I saw they were back and bought a bundle to split with him. I'll be keeping the bundle and ordering another just for him! These are smooth and mellow with a nice even burn. They smoke like a more expensive cigar. For the price they cannot be beat.

good smoke.
There ok. I tried them because it was on clearance. Not a bad smoke. Burns well, not strong on the palaten in my opinion.

Pirate Gold Churchill
I was very disappointed the draw was bad could not enjoy the cigar. I have purchased pirate golds other selections one of the reasons was the draw was always consistent were I could enjoy the aroma and taste with the Churchill not at all. Though reasonably priced it was a waste of money stay away you'll be better off.

Cheap diner coffee. But enjoyable just the same.
It might be 3 star for flavor, but I give it 4 for the price. I got this in a grab bag. This is the first really cheap cigar I've smoked and I was surprised how much I liked it. It wasn't really complicated, not a lot of flavor, but it didn't taste bad. It was pretty smooth. I think of this as super weak, diner coffee. Enjoyable for the price.

It is a good cigar for the price I bought them at. Probably would not buy them again just to try something different.

This is not a five star smoke, but .......
I have been ordering Pirates Gold for a while now, and have smoked several bundles. Make no mistake - this is not a high end premium cigar. But, it IS a way-above-the-average bargain smoke. Where any 'cheap' cigars taste like cardboard or worse, Pirates Gold always has great tobacco flavors and even some nuances of coffee, nuts, and wood. I find myself looking forward to grabbing one, either when busy with chores outside, or when sitting back and having a good cigar with a cup of coffee, or other beverage. In my opinion, Pirates Gold is one of the better smokes produced by Puros India, and I remain surprised when I see them offered with their low price tags. And, they just get better with Humidor time, becoming more mellow and smooth with every passing week. Probably the best 'low cost' alternative on the market today, and definitely worth ordering as a 'yard gar', or just to get them into your daily smoke rotation. Yeah, they're that good.

Great price for good cigars
All the sticks are moist and in good condition. They light quick, burn evenly and draw reasonably thick. To my palette, the first few draws are bitter but quickly mellows out and reminds me of coffee and rich soil.

Some good booty.
Good medium cigar. Great for the price. It’s my go to driving, mowing, fishing, cigar. The flavor is mild, leathery, cinnamon, consistent throughout. A little draw weirdness every great while. but never un-smokeable. Highly recommend keeping a bundle within easy reach. AAAAARG!! Good for raiding BBQ parties.

Good cigar value, but better at the earlier price.
Pirate's Gold has an honest, good quality, fresh tobacco taste. However, other new cigars strongly compete with both taste and lower price.

Great stick for the price.
Good flavor all the way through. Nice even burn with a smooth draw. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is the ash. The ash is loose, as you get to the middle the ash tends to flake off. This makes it a bit messy. All in all I will be ordering these again.

These cigars were my first try with this brand. I typically smoke Macanudo, Cohiba Dominican and Romeo y Julietta. These smokes were very good. Easy to light and a perfect burn. No bad taste left behind. Enjoy these while golfing or mowing the lawn.

Maduro?
Picked up a bundle of the double toro maduro. Decently made, but the manufacturer wouldn't know maduro leaf if you dropped a hogshead of it on him. Think Ecuador Connecticut color and flavor, and you won't be disappointed with these affordable smokes.

Yarrrrrgh! They're good!
Love these Pirate's Gold maduro Robusto smokes! Good right off the truck, and even better with a couple months in the humidor, these make an affordable everyday smoke, and are good enough to kick back and enjoy after a nice dinner. These are truly a 'Pirate Treasure'.

Pirate's gold cigars
These are some of the best cigars I've smoked. I first bought these cigars 5 years ago, still love them. Rolando Reyes sr. Has a great blend in these cigars. Will buy them again and again. Unbeatable for the price, draw, taste. Highly suggest getting some.

Not Bad
Not a bad smoke for the money. There are better rolled sticks at this price point. The have gotten a little better after sittingin my hhumidor for a couple of weeks and the last one I had I enjoyed to where I thought I would order again.

Aarg matie, a little treasure from the booty chest
I've been wanting to try these for a while now and finally pulled the trigger and ordered. I didn't even wait to let them rest in my humidor when they arrived, I lit one right up. What a delightful smoke this is for the money. This made my 'go to' list.

Inconsistent Moisture
I have been a regular customer and buyer of Pirate's Gold brand cigars from you. They are a wonderful daily smoke made by the man who make Puros Indios. My only complaint is inconsistent moisture not only within the same order, but even within the same 20 stick bundle. Every 20 I lose 2-5 sticks that are either bad wraps that won't burn or extremely thin skinned wrappers that tear making smoking less than a pleasure. The flavor is excellent for what it is. Rolando uses great tobaccos that build nicely. I will not take my business away as everything about your firm is top notch. But I hope my bringing this to your attention might improve the consistency of your stock. Feel free to compensate me with CAO Anniversary Maduro Pyramids. They are delicious! ;-)

Decent but not great!
Usually the Pirates Gold is decent, however this batch wasn't the best effort. Maybe a bad run.

Disappointed in these canoe monsters
I've had pretty good luck with Pirates Gold in the past, but these Maduro Churchills we're a battle throughout. At first I thought it was because I hadn't had them in the humidor long enough, but no length of time would save these gars. It seemed every one of them canoed. Not worth the trouble.

I find these a bargain and have made them my standard cigar. I'm ready to order more. I'v always been a fan of R. Reyes from Indio Puros.

Pirate's Gold an Unburied Treasure
My choice is the robusto (Rothschild) size in a maduro wrapper. Pirate's Gold is a consistent pleaser that draws smoothly, tastes great, and is bargain priced. Cigar snobs should widen their horizons by trying this economical addition to the humidor.
4 out of 5
Pirates gold is surely a hidden treasure
This was an extremely tasty cigar. Every stick had a nice burn and spiced rum flavor. Only one of my 20 sticks canoed and it was probably because all I had on me to light it was a zippo on a windy night. So was probably my fault if anything. Great cigar for a great price I would recommend it for bargain seekers who want a spicy smoke.

What a deal!
This was the second time I purchaed the Pirates Gold bundle. I loved the first one and got a great price. I have been waiting to get a similar deal again and my wish was granted. I jumped on the deal and this bundle was just as good as the first. Good flavor, good burn, lots of smoke and GREAT PRICE. I will definitely buy again in the future.

Rolando Reyes Sr is a Genius
I have enjoyed these cigars for years now and will continue to do so as long as they are available. Will on occasion get a cigar that does not draw well but they are rare. They are not Padron or Camacho but for value they are outstanding.

while not my favorite by a long shot, Pirate's Gold is a good cigar and the price is right. Perfect as a casual cigar for outdoor smoking.

Wrapped To Squeeze
I found that they were wrapped very tightly. Far too often they would not hold their burn. A fuller bodied cigar, it was nice for the short time they lasted. I like to allow my cigar to rest for a few moments between puffs, but with these, any attempt at rest would snuff them right out.

Customer Testimonials
Off the truck, the lanceros burned razor sharp. Great aroma. Leathery taste, peppery first third. Minor bitterness started to occur half way. I would slow down and it would go away, but in the last third it was noticeable. I think a few months in the humi or more will triple the enjoyment I get out of this one. I will happily smoke some before that when I fish or watch some HBO shows in the garage though. It is a good cigar I will rebuy. Construction was fantastic. Smoked it for an hour before I called it quits; could've lasted another 15-20 minutes.
For the money, you can't go wrong. Give them a try.
Got my first one because someone had a baby. I hadn't had a cigar in years and had the cigar with some brandy. I was hooked. Been smoking these for years now (Maduro). I usually have them in a humidor for months as I smoke my way through a bundle. I've since branched out to other cigars, but Pirate's Gold is still an excellent slow smoke for the money.
The Price is right. I've bought many bundles and never had a bad one. You can easily spend ten bucks and not get better! They have all been well made and are a consistent smoke. Also it has a pirate on the label.
Beyond what others have said, these tasty cigars have a long finish, a very long finish. The cigar leaves a very pleasing reminder on your palate for hours after smoking. one both more mellow, and more complex than the smoke itself. Personally, it's one of the reasons to like pirates gold. Smoke one after lunch and enjoy it all afternoon.
Pirate's Gold is one good smoking cigar. Taste good, slow burning, I am really impressed with this cigar.
I was looking for a less expensive everyday smoke when I ran across these beauties and red the write up. I decided to take a flyer and order a bundle. Let me tell you, it won't be my last. These are a mild to medium well made cigar. So far the burn has been even and holds a nice ash. The flavor starts out mild but the last half develops a hint of spice that is very enjoyable. I would compare it to a poor man's Nat Sherman HS. I recommend ordering a bundle.
Really? These have been around awhile and no reviews yet? Here's what I think needs to be said. I got one of these in a Brown Bag Sampler awhile back and decided it wouldn't be anything special as I sorted through the assortment of stogies I received. When the day came to actually smoke the thing was I surprised! I don't know about 'mild-medium' strength but it had plenty of flavor for someone who prefers a stronger taste in cigars like me. And such tasty flavor. I got numerous very nice cigars in that sampler but this one was the winner for me. I'm ordering a bundle as I write this.
Glad to see this nice cheap cigar back, especially the maduro. Once u get past the funky name they are pretty good....
