Cuesta-Rey Centenario

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

There aren’t too many cigars that can lay claim to being the official cigar of King Alfonso XIII of Spain. With origins dating back to 1884 when a young Spaniard opted to open a humble cigar factory, this legendary brand boasts quality construction and superior craftsmanship. Fast forward to today, and the same still holds true as each cigar is rolled at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican.

Cuesta-Rey Centenario is super smooth, super creamy, and mild to medium-bodied. It comes in two equally impressive formats: A Connecticut-shade natural or Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. Each is filled to the brim with well-aged, top-notch Dominican long-fillers that have been resting an average of five years inside a cedar-lined humidor for maximum flavor.

Love the size and taste, but the construction was a let down!
Perfect small, quick smoke. Light, yet flavorful! The only issue is that it is loosely wrapped, and not well constructed in general. A shame, because otherwise I loved it!

OUTSTANDING!
I especially appreciated how easily I could find exactly the cigar I wanted for a Father's Day gift. It is why I chose your site over others to make my purchase. Your site made it significantly easier! I'll be back!

tubos too tubby for me
I love Cuesta Rey, but this size is not my favorite . The large ring size minimizes the flavor of the delicate wrapper. Still a nice package to travel with. I like the #60 toro the best in this blend.

Cuesta Rey Corona
These are well made cigars, one of the very few which I enjoy as much as the Cuban cigars I prefer. They are never bitter, do not have that grassy taste found in many Dominican cigars. My only issue is they cost as much as the Toro #60 which is larger and just as delicious, although the#60 seems more delicate and gets wrapper damage quite often. I love Cuesta Rey, they are not trendy, but they are really good

best everyday cigar
The Cuesta-Rey Centenario Toro #60 is the best tasting, best lighting, best burning cigar I have tried. It doesn't get hot, it is smooth and even throughout. The aroma and taste is mild-medium. Ash stays on and cigar stays lit. It lasts me about 45 minutes, and goes well with scotch or Irish whiskey

An absolute pleasure..
Visually appealing with excellent construction, a comfortable draw and a level burn with a firm, silvery 2" ash. This cigar offers subtle but consistently pleasing flavors from start through finish. Make no mistake, this is a mild cigar. If you are looking for a full blown punch in the mouth, keep looking. But, if you want a solidly built smoke with a pleasing smell and delightful aftertaste, here you go.

Memorable in Great Ways
I absolutely love these cigars because they have a uniqueness that I have never found elsewhere. Even thought "unique" can sometimes mean something bad, I implore you to give these a try. I hadn't had one in ten years, and after my first, memories of that time came roaring back to me. I find that incredibly impressive given the hundreds or thousands of cigars I have had over the years. I only reserve giving it 5 stars for the price, since I have found better deals (only by maybe a quarter or so more per gar though). Give these a go.

The Cuesta-Rey #60's are always a great smoke, and CI always delivers them quickly, and at a fair price.
Customer Testimonials
Cuesta-Rey Centenario is everything you love about Dominican cigars: mild, creamy, slightly cedary, with a nutty flavor in the Claro and a sweetness in the Maduro, and all impeccably constructed to Fuente standards. It's in a similar vein to other mild J.C. Newman offerings like Montesino and La Unica, though a bit fuller-bodied than either of those. Big winners: the Belicoso No. 11, the Toro No. 60, and the Robusto No. 7 (which at 4.5 x 50 is really a Rothschild).
