Small batch, large following.
Buena Vista has recently released a new small batch blend, the Reserva 2008. After being away from the biz for a few years, Buena Vista moved production from their Cancun, Mexico based factory to the Dominican Republic. In an effort to reproduce the Cuban cigar profile each Buena Vista Reserva uses 100% Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Central America.
This cigar has been a long time coming. Blended by professional Cuban tobacconists, the Reserva comes dressed in an elegant Ecuadorian Habano 98 wrapper. Inside this well-balanced cigar is a mix of premium Dominican tobaccos from 2008, which were aged two years prior to being rolled in 2010. After being rolled, these cigars were set to rest in cedar-lined rooms for an additional three years. The result is a smooth and chewy blend, that offers rich notes of cedar, spice, and pepper, this medium –bodied cigar is a fine example of cigars in the olde world style.
