Definite winner. Great beginner stick, good for any occasion.
I'm a bona-fide n00b, so take my review as a beginner's perspective: Appearance: Typical brown color you'd expect. Not very oily, but not satiny-dry either. Pre-light: Sweet smelling, very strong leathery / fresh tobacco smell, as you'd expect. Draw reveals a definite sweet flavor, like raisins. Lit: Still getting the sweet raisin flavor, but with an added strong second flavor of leather / wood. NOT a very spicy cigar at all...if I were to say it's peppery, it would only be a flake or two of black pepper. VERY smooth and bold without being overpowering. Medium rating is spot-on. It maintained these flavors all the way through, producing what I consider a perfect amount of smoke. A goldilocks cigar for me....just right in almost every aspect. I tested it on a re-light and it picked right up where it left off. The burn was a little uneven in spots, but not alarmingly so. No touch-ups were required. Finish: The peppery flavor began to get stronger near the end as the others waned, but never overpowering. This is a winner. I'll definitely be buying again in the future, as an old standby in the humidor. I'm going to try a few other PDRs to see if they all stack up as well as this one.

Great smoke!
I've been a fan for a while. Bought a box to share with some friends and everyone loved them. One of my favorite not just for the price but flavor.

Real Premium cigar
I really enjoyed this cigar. The burn was even with a strong ash. The flavor had a smooth earthy taste. Toward the end of the cigar it got spicy and left a slight flavor of spices on the lips. The cigar was one of the nicest and enjoyable cigars I have had. It is a definite staple in my humidor!!
Customer Testimonials
"Wow" What a smoke! Great combo of tobaccos. Sweet, yet bold! Complex. Love it!
PDR 1878 is all that and a double shot of Cognac. It's a great cigar with a mellow taste and smooth aroma, plus it burns evenly. I haven't had to relight it once. This is a good. I got lucky when choosing this one. It has an easy draw too. Very nice, indeed.
PDR Cubano Capa is one good stick
