Sosa Cigars: top-notch brand, dirt cheap CI price.

With nearly 100 years of tradition in the cigar industry - including a strong presence in Cuba during the glory days - the Sosa Family has a lot to be proud of. So don't let my massively discounted deal on their lovely bundled line tarnish that name one bit. Because, well, it's indicative of nothing about the cigars. Nothing, besides the fact that I bought a container load of Sosa cigars at a discount. And now I'm passing along the savings. That's all. The cigars are delicious, no doubt. But now, they're much, much cheaper.

Sosa is medium-bodied, extremely smooth, and very flavorful. That's complements of a well-blended combination of aged tobaccos including a dark, oily maduro wrapper leaf and a blend of Dominican and Honduran long-fillers. Notes of earth, cocoa, pepper, and sweetness are present, along with a rich tobacco core. In sum, an easy-going cigar that's loaded with flavor. A cigar you'll enjoy burning over and over again. And at my nutty prices, you can afford to.

I really like the Sosa Churchill...except for one thing. I can't seem to keep the things from coming apart. After only a few minutes the wrapper seems to come adrift at the head and not just one a single cigar, but on every bloody one of the things! I really DO know how to clip a cigar and I've even used a punch, but they all seem to just come apart. I enjoy the flavour, etc.; it's a really nice cigar. I 'solved' the problem by leaving the band on (something I don't usually do) and only smoking it down that far. Without the construction problem, I'd doubtless nub the thing. To show I'm not just a 'one-try-wonder', I'm going to buy another bundle of them and if it keeps happening, that will be it. Pleasant thing to smoke, though.

First time smoking a Sosa cigar. Have to say this is a quality, good tasting and burn even. Taste is sweet peppery, cocoa and down to earth cigars. The price is excellent. Great job CI Nation!!

Got a bundle of these on an E-Mail special. They're quite good tasting, burn even (typically) and did'nt cost so much I was in danger of annihilating my monthly cigar budget! I got the Churchill size. In Synopsis: Real good deal!!
VT of Blue Springs, MO
I found these to be very good. Pretty even burn, plenty of smoke, good construction, good taste, never bitter. Satisfying always. I will buy more.

Very good cigar! The longer it rests in your humi, of course, the better it gets. Even burn, nice white ash, excellent's just a mellow cigar whose flavor I really enjoy. I lean more toward full flavored cigars, but this is one medium bodied smoke that I will buy over and over again; especially at CI's prices!!! No complaints here at all. Good job CI...Sosa lives up to its name!

I have tried over 110 different cigars/blends over the last two years and after trying this blend from Sosa, I wanted to add my '2 cents' to the Fan Mail group. The construction, smoke volume, and burn from the Sosa's I received was very, very good. The burn was almost razor sharp right down to the nub. I have smoked a number of much more expensive cigars that could not even do that very well. The taste of this cigar really appealed to me...a very smooth, nutty, maduro taste which increased towards the end. And remember, this is a sub 3 dollar smoke. There are many more expensive smokes in my humidors that I would like to replace with these. Thanks CI for bringing Sosa into your lineup. I will be buying more.

These cigars look nice and smell wonderful - very chocolatey. The taste: not so. I tried one the day I got them and the first half was almost unsmokeable. The last half was a little better. I'm hoping that a few months in the humidor will improve them...

I am a huge fan of the Sosa brand, when i saw the price tag on these i have to admit i was skeptical. I got my bundle of belicoso size in the other day and decided to try one right out of the mailbox. These were a huge surprise, this price and still this good. I have never had a bad sosa cigar. At this price point i am going to stuff my 120 cap humidor full of sosa without killing my checkbook. Great job CI and sosa! This was a homerun in my book!

Decided to buy the 20 stick bundle of Belicoso (6.0" x 54) because of the "1-day" deal. Definitely not disappointed. Smoked the first one on my commute home (approx. 1 hr). Smoked to the nub (about 1 in. left) as I usually do, and although it had the expected deepening of flavor; nothing overwhelming or excessively bitter. All in all, an enjoyable smoke and I am looking forward to enjoying another when I can pair it with some Glenlivet 12 yr. Single Malt! Thanks CI for turning me on to this great cigar.
RW of Littlestown, PA
Great cigar it is mild but full of flavor. The draw is excellent and burns even right down to the nub. Thanks Art for introducing me to this great smoke. Regards.

Sosa Belicoso is outstanding. Highly recommended.

I don't think they are horrible tasting cigars, got a case of the churchills on special, but the are constructed poorly...the outer wrapper is just not done well and it comes apart no matter how gentle you snip the tip or punch it...leaving the band on helps but after that forget about it...if you are like me and smoke it to the bottom, it will totally come apart and leave you with a moist mess of tobacco to hold together if you want to's a shame because the flavors are rather good for the price. Sosa, please figure out how to wrap these puppies better if you want me to ever buy another case of your cigars again...I have some cheaper sticks than these that stay together without I don't get why you can't figure it out...
Sosa Belicoso is a winner! Great construction, awesome draw, sooooo smooth. Can't beat the price for this high quality medium bodied smoke. Stock up now!!!
I got a couple in a sampler and really enjoyed them. I like peppery notes in my cigars, and the Sosa delivered as advertised. I will recommend them to my cigar club buddies.
First, the cigars. Sosa robustos are a good cigar. Flavorful & well constructed albeit a bit rustic. If you consider $2 a cigar very good. Now, if you happen to take advantage of the Bugatti lighter bonus deal, as I did, it's a helluva deal. I got the lighter I'd been wanting for 60% off list AND 20 good quality cigars, gratis. Since I discovered CI I've not gotten cigars anywhere else.
Recently, I reviewed the Sosa Robusto. I liked 'em enough to order again, but when I went back to the Sosa product section I realized the churchills were on sale for $30 a mazo! Remembering the complaints others had about them coming apart, I ordered them anyway. They DO come apart at the cap, but only if you're not careful. I have a very sharp 5mm punch that I use to SLOWLY puncture the cap; too quick or forceful and the cap will slide right off. Take your time and you'll have a great smoke for just a buck-fifty. I'm ordering more!
Got my bundle in today. I was very skeptical because of the price. My monthly cigar and bourbon budget rivals that of a luxury car note. I have humidors full of top shelf smokes from Ashton ESG, My Father, Davidoff, Fuente Opus X, La Glorias and countless others. I've been trying for a very long time to discover a good, inexpensive everyday smoke. Well, I think I just found it in the Sosa Churchill. It does have some construction issues as it tends to come apart a bit, but the burn is fairly even and the draw is nice. Medium body and good to very good taste. Good job CI. You definitely have a winner with this one.

Fantastic cigar. This is top down one of my favorite cigars that I hold as high as Opus X, Padron and Cohibas. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the order of Sosa Churchill's of this brand that is selling as 7x50. The cigar is definitely not a 7x50. But most likely a 7x48....

bought the sosa sampler. third harvest is a very tasty smoke good burn & draw the sosa robusto i tried to smoke had very tight draw was totally unsmokable!!! disappointing to say the least, hope the second one is better...havn't tried the others yet!! so the jury is still out on this purchase/not c.i.'s fault : )

I find them fairly tasty for what they are. Not all, but the vast majority simply have a really thin wrapper. Fairly noted as medium body but with a bit more flavor than I would've thought. Not a bad occasional burner for $2ish a stick. They're an ok add-on to an order when ya want a passer-outer or yard gar. Curious about Sosa's other offerings. Smoke well!

After reading so many of the positive comments about this cigar I ordered a bundle of robustos from Joe Cigar and was quite pleased with this pick. I'm always looking for a go to maduro with ample flavor and no bite, something I can smoke with no reservations. Well I've found it. This is a really good cigar with plenty of good attributes. This cigar has it all, aroma, smoke volume, flavor and price.... I'm on my third bundle and will be ordering these until they stop making them.
Great smoke, burns evenly to the end never having to relight. Wife liked the aroma...will buy more!

Tried my first Sosa churchill, a little bit on the mild side for my taste. But the quality and construction was outstanding. Used a punch to cut and had great results. Nice shiny wrapper and burned perfect. Worth a try if you like a mild to medium smoke.

Got me a bundle the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. Having smoked over 200 different brands in the last couple of years I know what I like, and I like these. Usually you can say that you get what you pay for, but in this case we have a diamond in the rough. Love the flavors and the consistency of the sticks, can only recommend others to try them as well.
AB of Minden, NV
I got a couple of these about a week ago. Smoked one and it had a tight draw and the smoke output from the draw was very little. It got a little better after a bit but not too great. The taste was good and so was the smell. Maybe the second one will be better after some aging. Not totally giving up on this one.
MH of Humble, TX
My first purchase from this site I included Sosa Toro. I love the smell and found it a great smoke. It burns well and the taste lasts throughout the cigar. Today I bought it again.
Got a bundle of these Churchills along with G.A.R. Reds in the same order. Compared with the G.A.R. cigars the Sosas did not deliver either in flavor or construction. Going to steer away from these for a while.
AF of Leonardtown, MD
A great cigar for the money. I routinely score these for less than $2.00 a stick and would recommend these. Better than some $5.00 smokes I have had. Don't hesitate to try a few; you will like them.

I used to pick up Sosa's back in the late '90's from their store at Disney World. Loved them then, but not so much with this bundle. They were an OK smoke. Decently made with so-so flavor. I'm sure the product has changed over time, but it could just be my palate that changed.
