PDR Small Batch Black Corojo

Like a home-cooked meal made from scratch.

I’ve always been a believer that the best things in life come in small-batches. From top-shelf whiskey, to Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies. The quality and attention to detail just can’t be beat. And while there are many cigars out there that profess to having been crafted in small-batch fashion, few can hold a candle to the methods and traditions of the PDR factory. Showcasing these talents perfectly, awaits the Small Batch Black Corojo.

Black Corojo is the result of masterfully combing top-notch, extra-fermented tobaccos one savory leaf at a time. It all starts with a silky and brown Dominican Habano wrapper. Just looking at it will get your juices flowing, but the real meat to this meal lies in its core. A complex array of Dominican Corojo ligeros and secos are complemented by a healthy dose of Dominican Criollo 98. Together, this formula pumps out a medium to full-bodied profile that packs quite a punch, while retaining a highly polished character. Hints of earth, black pepper, dried fruit and cedar enter the fray as the smoke remains highly refined to the very end. If you appreciate the finer things in life, the PDR Black Corojo has your name written all over it.

Customer Reviews of “PDR Small Batch Black Corojo”
This is an outstanding, full-bodied cigar. The guide says it is medium-full, but I would consider this a fairly full-bodied smoke, which is what I love. I have always enjoyed Pepin and other cigars with Corojo and some heft. This cigar is right there as a favorite. You need to give these a try.
I thought I would try a sampler of PDR sticks, taking advantage of a great toro offering. With that said, I'm always skeptical of great deals like CI was offering, but I'm here to tell you, this cigar is well worth 3 times what I paid for it. The burn was even from start to finish. The draw was effortless and left me wanting more. Flavor was medium to full and very smooth. This stick will become a regular in my rotation. Thanks CI!

Smooth and yummy. In other words, a 92 on the scale.

I received this in a sampler (Backyard Boogie) from CI. Good full-bodied cigar to start with. A solid stick that I'd pay $4-6 for no problem. Easy draw and consistent flavors. Don't expect any fireworks, however not a let down either.

Can be pretty good and can be pretty bad. I have had 4 of these from a sampler and they were 50/50. The first one wasn't very good. The second was the best. The third was again not very enjoyable, and the fourth was pretty good again. The 2nd and 4th ones were pretty smooth and no very strong on nicotine or flavors. The flavors were pretty nice and probably about medium bodied. I probably wouldn't buy these again because they're not my typical flavor preference. But for the $1.50/stick I paid...., they were decent. Can't complain too much at that price.
I am on my fourth 10 pack of these. I get a great deal from the MMAO page. The construction is excellent. The burn is always even and nice and slow. They have a great flavor and pack a decent punch. These cigars are better than ones I've had that cost 3 or 4 times as much. I would highly recommend these cigars to anyone. Please have these available forever!

Got a ten pack of the double perfectos for 20$. This shape is quite pretty! Construction and draw were very good. It lacked flavor the first half, picked up in the second half but it turned south pretty fast (harsh). Well worth the sticker price, but I've been impressed with some of the PDR offerings lately, so I kind of had higher expectations for this stick. Maybe some time in the humi will help.

Being a long-time fan of PDR cigars, getting the toro sampler was a no-brainer. The blends that make it up are way up there on my list of go to cigars. The Corojo, in particular, was a new one for me. After about 2 weeks of humidor time, I grabbed one for the ride home after work. Consistent burn and a very nice variety of flavors, this cigar kept my attention the whole time. I tend to lean toward the habano wrappers anyway but this has been a highly enjoyed smoke regardless.

This is a nice even burning cigar. Well constructed. A good flavor throughout. Got them as part of a sampler and all were consistent. Good volumes of smoke with each draw. Had about four or five days in the humidor before I got to this one and was suitably impressed. At this price, I would buy again. But not the grade which really knocks my socks off. Overall, a nice smoke.
