Red Lion Maduro

Fallen prey to CI's discount battle-axe.

Red Lion is a delicious, high-end, boutique handmade that never quite caught on in the marketplace for one reason or another. It's a shame. This well-made premium is blended and rolled in Nicaragua, and was previously distributed by the big-name giant known as Davidoff. Maybe it was the price, maybe it was the packaging. One thing's for sure, it wasn't the blends.

To craft Red Lion Maduro, a bold, long-leaf blend of aged Cuban-seed tobaccos from Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican is carefully selected. Then, a zesty Brazilian binder secures these tasty tobaccos, for added depth and character. Finally, a dark, sultry Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper is draped over the outside, sealing the deal quite nicely. But the journey doesn't stop there. Each box of Red Lion Maduro is then set down for a long nap in the cedar aging rooms. The end result is medium to full-bodied smoke, producing a spicy-sweet profile layered with earth, oak, and espresso.

Customer Reviews of “Red Lion Maduro”
“You get what you pay for. It has been hit and miss with this cigar. Some have fell apart on me turning into a nightmare and some have preformed well. It's no St. Luis Rey 6x60 or La Gloria Black ... however a good burn on the road if you get the right one.”
NB of Weirton, WV
“Great cigar! Smoked the first one in New York City in 1998. It has been increasingly difficult to find these, and in the last few orders I have had problems with some of the cigars falling apart, but Red Lion Maduro Toro Gordo is still my favorite cigar. I have tried other cigars, since I was concerned that Red Lion might not be available. Haven't found one.”

“Wow, what 30 days will do for these. Very good after a short nap in the humidor”
