Vigilante Corojo

Email
Wacky, wacky, crazy-good deal!

Vigilante Corojo is quite the catch, easily one of the best deals to come along in years. And here's why: it makes use of a very unique, very special wrapper leaf - a dark, well-aged Corojo wrapper grown in Connecticut. This bold, ultra-flavorful leaf is perfectly paired with a complex mixture of long-fillers including Dominican Piloto Cubano, Broadleaf, Nicaraguan Viso, and a touch of Mexican ligero. These tobaccos balance each other perfectly to deliver a rich, full-flavored smoke that's layered with notes of pepper, earth, coffee, and cedar overtop a hearty core of tobacco flavors. Tasty, medium-bodied, and priced absurdly low. Nearly perfect with only one minor flaw - this deal will likely disappear as quickly as it came.

Customer Reviews of “Vigilante Corojo”
“From the get-go, let me say taste in cigars is always subjective; what I prefer may not meet your prefences. I smoke almost exclusively Corojo's and Maduro's. I found the Vigilante Corojo to be alright at best. I found it to have a charcoal-y taste with a bit of spice from begining too end. A little bitter. Not my cup of tea. In the same price range I really prefer the Indian Tabac Classic and Gran Habano Reserva 2000. Both of these are much richer and better cigars in my humble opinion.”

“I let these sit in my humidor for two weeks just to let them rest after a cold trip on the UPS truck. They burn evenly and are not an unpleasant cigar. They have a slight spiciness and a medium-strong, leathery tobacco flavor and after taste. While taste in cigars is subjective, I prefer the Indian Tabac Classic and the Gran Habano Reserve 2000. Both are in the same price range and I think better cigars. A decent cigar, yet I think there are better "value cigars" out there.”

“bottom line, tastes really good, burns good, even smells alright -especially when first lit, and price is good! Vigilante - yum, i'll be smokin some tonight during the laker game!! nice!!!!!”

“I think this is the deal of the year. Vigilante smoke for under $40, you just cant beat it. I have had several of these smokes and I am so impressed with them. Great aroma, great burn (not one touch up), great draw, and great flavor. A bit spicy at the beginning smoothing to a nice mellow full smoke. Pepper, earth and some fruit (yea, weird, almost like a Cabaiguan) with a hint of sweetness (usually reserved for a Maduro). I am speaking of the Corojo wrapped Belicoso. Happy Smoking and buy a box before they are gone.”

“The Vigilante is a KILLER cigar! The corojo is pretty full-bodied - pretty much EXACTLY like the RP "Edge" or "Edge Lite". In short, these would sell for at least $8 a piece in a smoke shop if they didn't have the silly label. If you like 'em full-bodied, you will not be disappointed (Take the label off and tell your friends they're Cubans....I'll bet money no one will tell the difference!).”

“After doing some recon on the web, I pulled the trigger on a the (Vigilante) corojo and the maduro. The special couldn't be passed up. After smoking 2 of each I will say that anyone who didn't take CI up on this deal blew it. Big time. Both wrapper types had the same great firmness of roll, great draw, great burn, loads of thick, creamy smoke and flavor that was a worthy representative of each wrapper type. My personal favorite was the corojo which is unusual for me as I'm a maduro nut. My personal taste preferences lean to Connecticut broadleaf such as on the Bolivar Cofradia oscuro and the wrapper on the maduro was a little on the lean-dry side. Less sweet, but very good nonetheless. Taste is subjective and individually personal but I believe anyone who enjoys cigars with either wrapper type would not be disappointed with what Vigilante has to offer. On the negative side, the band is cheesy looking beyond belief so if you buy to be seen, pass on these. But if you're a function before form kind of guy, you will find a friend here.”

“Normally I prefer torpedos, but I actually liked the Churchill better in this blend ... nice flavor, burned well. The one torpedo I've had was a little mild for me, but that was OTT, so I'll follow one of the previous reviewers recommendation to give them a few months in the humidor ... The churchill had a bit of an underlying toffee flavor for me, which I liked and which matched the lovely caramel shade of the wrapper.”

“Just finished smoking my first Vigilante Torpedo Corojo, and I must say, I have a new favorite cigar. That sound you hear in the background is me making room in my humidor for more.”

“One of the best buys and best decisions on a cigar that I have ever made: Vigilante. This is one of the best cigars I have ever tried in my 40 years of cigar indulgence. Great cigar, better than most of the higher priced blends. I got the Torpedo Corojo.”

“I just opened my Vigilante Corojo Belicosos. I've not yet tried one, but they look and smell fantastic. These babies sold out the first day of the special, so you guys better get shaking before they're all gone!!”
IW of Hoboken, NJ
“Vigilante is as good as it gets. However you need to age this for atleast 3 months. The aromas of this cigar are amazing. I was smoking one in the bar and this guy approched me and begged me to have one. I would rate this one 91 and I hope this cigar is available on CI for long time. Guys get it while it lasts.”

“Got mine the other day (Vigilante) and could not wait to try one. I must say what a buy, just upset I didn't buy more. A very nice blend. But be warned, if you are not a big fan of VERY full flavored sticks this is not the one for you. These baby's pack a wallhup. I love'em. Very nice slow even burn with a grand aroma. The maduro wrap is very nice and very limited veins. The flavor is slam packed with the natural earthy and leathery tones and leaves a nice spicy taste on your pallet. Also, a strong spicy finish at the nub. A highly recommended full flavored smoke. CI better get some more instock or I may have to go postal on'em...LOL”

“Vigilante Corojo for less than 2 bucks?! Are you kidding me? What a great value and cigar. The construction was good, nice oily wrapper, tons of smoke, and great flavor. Thanks CI. I hope they last awhile.”
MK of Sagamore Hills, OH
“Vigilante is by far the best cigar I have had in years. Very smooth with a thick outer wrapper making for a very even burn. The aroma is great, everyone loves it. I smoke on my Harley and they don't disintrigate on me. You cann't go wrong with this choice. Hope they never run out, I just bought 140 cigars just in case.”

“Hats off to CI on this one. Had some doubts due to the unknown name. I ordered robusto for a trial run. Nice cigar ! Great construction, burn, taste and PRICE. Gran Habano 2002 is my fav. but, I will definitely re-order these. The product description is spot on.”

“Well, these were a pleasant surprise! Just got a bundle today, 6 April 2012, and really wanted to try one fresh off the truck (not my usual MO, but I was curious). My favorite wrappers are Corojo and Cameroon, two very different recipe's for a tasty smoke. These Vigilante Corojo's fall somewhere between the Gran Habano and a Camacho, though tilt very far towards the latter. The tobacco is well processed and burns nicely, mostly even, though a little soft. Aroma is very pleasant and characteristic of a good Corojo, a little like a buttery ritz cracker with the certain sweetness of a sun grown. I'll definitely be back for more of these, so long as the price stays right where it's at!”
JD of Benbrook, TX
“This cigar has always intrigued me from the catalog and reviews. Earlier this week, CI had a great deal on them. Robustos for 99 cents a piece? I jumped on them real fast since I knew they would not last long at that price, now I wish I had bought more even if it meant getting another humidor. Had them sent priority mail, less than 2 days total travel time. I had to smoke one tonight, curiousity was killing me. Well, just have to say I have never had such a cigar for the price. flavor was good to begin, got better as I smoked it down to the nub. Not overpowering, just a darn good smoke. Make it a great smoke for the price.”

“Ok it's official...this is my go-to cheap stick. I started with torpedo's and have since moved to robusto's. Both formats offer great value, consistent performance, and SATISFYING flavor. Its cold in PA right now but these sticks get me suited up and out the door.”
EF of Exeter, PA
“Quality construction, astounding flavor and blend. Even burn easy draw. That so called ugly band looks mighty good after you try this superb cigar.”
CF of Gig Harbor, WA
“I have to say I just received a mazo of these bad boys and they are not bad, a pretty sharp burn and good aroma. Worth your money, I'm definitely going to order some more. CI you guys rock.”
RD of Bellflower, CA
“Just got my order of vigilante's, had to light one immediately. Got the hint of coffee right away, nice smoke , good draw, even burn. It was a little bitter 1/4 thru but quickly went away. Wish I could of gotten them in maduro but for buck and change this isn't a bad smoke. Gonna let em age a couple of Weeks And see what happens. Thanks CI”
DD of burgettstown, PA
“love these. Vigilantes are now my everydays. Please keep torpedos and toros in stock.”
