Pinar del Rio Overruns

For a limited time, enjoy additional savings on select sizes of Pinar del Rio Overruns. Discounted pricing is reflected below.

Steak at frozen dinner prices.

The Dominican-based Pinar del Rio brand is responsible for a slew of delicious, full-flavored brands, that's no secret. But from time to time, during the rolling process, production is exceeded. This can result from a myriad of reasons, reasons I won't bore you with. What's important here is that the factory is left with overruns. Essentially unbanded firsts, in varying shapes and sizes. It's a lot like cooking for a family of 8 and only 6 people show up to eat. And there's no sense in lettin' that good home cookin' go to waste! Each and every one a first-rate specimen, but what's even more enjoyable are my dirt-cheap prices. Every cigar in the bundle is the exact same blend and size, so no mismatching up in here. If I were you I'd pull up a chair and get your fill. These tend to move outta here fast.

Just Awful!
Just Awful. The ashes are so loose, it just falls off onto your clothes... The smoke is like burnt wood chips!! Definitely a disappointment...

Great price on some very good smokes.
These PDR Overruns are most definitely some good smokes. Construction is first rate, and they draw and burn as well as any 'first run' cigar. Recommend them for anyone enjoying a good medium, flavorful cigar.

Pdr overruns
These are terrific they are often my last smoke of the day good stogie I like them well enough to want them as a standard item in my humidors

Fine cigars. Love every draw! A great value!!

Very good cigar
I received a bundle of box-pressed coronas that overall are quite good - nice aroma and taste. The only downside is that they can sometimes be difficult to keep lit.

Better-than-Even Odds of Winning
These are my fall back sticks when nothing else is on sale. Always well made and usually quite tasty. Sure, you'll get that occasional bundle containing Brazilian stink-leaf or whatever it is that PDR seems so fond of (you'll know it if you get it), but order again next month and receive something completely different. All I ask is if CI could at least separate the offerings by wrapper color. Light and dark would be sufficient, and don't whine about the additional couple of SKU's when you have about 10,000 different Gurkha SKU's that taste pretty much like the same cigar with a different band. Thanks!

Well... what else can I say?
Have purchased these now a couple times.... and they are horrible..... I am telling everybody not to buy any of these horrible sticks.... look elsewhere.... that way I am assured they will not sell out for my next purchase!

Worse cigar I ever tried ,Taste is like burning wax and smokes up whole room

Good for the Price
Okay smoke. Actually becoming a bit more fond the second time around. Kind of have a funky smell, but a decent inexpensive smoke. Burns a bit uneven, but again $ matters

Pinar del Rio Lancero (Overruns)
The PDR line continues to be the absolute front runner in value-priced cigars. This time I ordered a bundle of Lanceros and, as usual, I was pleased with my choice. The construction was first-rate: nice toothy wrapper, firm construction, excellent overall appearance. The draw was effortless and produced clouds of creamy smoke. Flavor was spicy, but never hot, with hints of earth and chocolate. The flavor developed as the burn progressed. Occasional touch-ups to the burn are sometimes necessary, but the ash was tight as can be. There is nothing second-rate about these cigars. At the price, you have no excuse to not try a bundle. Do it. You won't be disappointed.

PDR Overruns
Great value and taste for the price. Do not be fooled by this bundle being an overrun.

Overruns overrated
The Pinar del Rio Overruns in corona and figurado were good, but the robustos were different. The smoke aroma was almost a petroleum smell and the taste was funny. Some burned unevenly and went out alot. I would not get robustos again.

For the money you can't beat it! Few problems with unraveling at the cap but all burned down smoothly.

Smooth & Creamy
I was surprised at how good these cigars turned out. When they arrived they were darker than I anticipated, so I thought they may be too bold for my taste. After giving one a try it ended up tasting mild/med and had a very smooth & creamy after taste. I will buy these again.

Good and Bad
I have ordered these cigars twice. The first was a five star pigtail, very good. The second was a one star non-pigtail,very bad. I split the difference and gave a rating of two and a half stars. DJ

Not a good choice this time
Received what appear to be A crop Claros. Not a good cigar. Usually do good with the overruns, but not this time.

Like Them But Not Sure What To Expect
I order these bundles regularly because I like the sizes (half coronas & robustos) and they're easy on the pocket book. Most of the time I am very happy with them, but at times there are some (toros and more recently a robusto bundle) that are practically unsmokable because of a strong and distasteful chemical-like aroma and flavor upon lighting. I have found that opening the entire bundle and allowing the sticks to "breathe" for a few days helps. Even then, there remains a slight hint of the aroma upon lighting before it eventually dissipates. I would hate to have to give up on these guys. Is there a logical explanation for that strange and unpredictable taste?

Pinar Del Rio Overuns Gigante
Good Stick!! the first couple of bundles i received were Maduro and killer good smokes for the price... the last couple have been milder maybe Sun grown or Cameroon wrappers they burn well for a 66 gauge Cigar only had one run away down the side... i would recommend them for an in expensive daily burn.

Pinar del Rio Overruns
We just called CIS to complain that this last order was terrible, it smoked up the whole room. I tried 3 and just threw them out. Your customer service is replacing them and I will send back the 17 that are left. Have ordered them for some time and usually very good so was surprised how bad this last batch was.

WOW - 1. these are full bodied. 2. they burn completely evenly. 3. GREAT PRICE. These are strong enough i stopped driving and smoking them and saved them for the garage. Wonderful even burn, full of flavor and actually burn slowly - as opposed to so many 2nds that burn 2x the speed. Will buy more

Yeah I saw these looked good in the picture and so I figured for the price you can't go wrong. They are worth it. Tastes good ...nothing fancy...but decent smoke. Lasted longer that I expected.

smokes well
Construction is good and burns evenly. Lots of mild smoke on the draw

Great sticks at a great price!!!!!
The first cigar I was given by a friend was a Pinar del rio Oscoro toro. So after making my order I was extremely happy to see oscoro on the tag on the packaging. Great smokes! Good draw, no flagging so far in this bundle. My skepticism is completely put to rest.

not even going to unwrap them
You never know which cigars you are going to get when you buy the PDR Overruns. I have never gotten a bad batch and have gotten some terrific smokes for a very good price. That being said, I was really disappointed in getting the latest batch. I usually order two or three different sizes of the Overruns and they are usually different blends. Sometimes I get lucky and get the same blend in the different sizes and really enjoy them and then I can read thru the cigar descriptions and figured out which cigars I got. I ordered two packs in Robusto and Toro sizes. I got the same cigar, a box pressed Maduro wrapped blend. I have some of them in the Churchill size and wasn't impressed like I usually am with whatever blend I get. They are not bad cigars, better than a lot of others I have tried from other brands, just would be at the bottom of my list of smokes to keep. I am going to combine these mazos with some other full boxes of different cigars to send to troops around the world. Not too many of our men and women in uniform have access to decent cigars unless they order online. CI does a very good job working with our troops. I can send off five or six boxes of different cigars for not a lot of money and I get the greatest thank you's from these men and women. I will keep ordering the PDR overruns, but will keep my fingers crossed on getting a cigar that keeps me coming back for more great deals.

Not up to other overruns
These are not a terrible smoke, but they don't burn evenly, and don't really compare to the other overruns I have tried.

Good Taste, Great Value
I rated these 3 stars but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them ... I thought they were a good tasting smoke at a terrific price ... they are not the prettiest things but if you're not worried about being judged, you'll be more than satisfied ... this is my second bundle, which is always my greatest review ... thanks

Pinar de Rio Short Gordo
All things considered, these are a pretty good smoke. There were a few with construction issues that just came unwrapped half way through. I'm not going to BS you with a description of all the different flavors it produced, but lots of nice smoke came out. The burn was good and it didn't get bitter in the finish. For the money, it's a good smoke. I'll get more of them. Enjoy.

Cigar perfectionist
Good cigar for the money if they send you the maduro. The light shade wrappers are dry and taste like cardboard.

one of the worst cigars I've ever had. tasted and smelled like someone mixed plastic supermarket bags in with the blend

Buyer Beware
A previous review claimed the cigars they received smelled and tasted like wax. Not a typo, WAX. I thought such a claim was outlandish. Not so. The cigars I received also smelled and tasted like wax when lit.

Quality at an everyday price
Quality and richness of smoke - well made - no back bite even down to stogie. Can justify smoking one daily.

Good budget smokes without the sacrifice
Built like a Cuban, smokes like a Nicaraguan. Most of the bunch burns well. Tasty.

Taste like wax
I have aged these cigars for a month and they still smell and taste like wax. The wrappers come apart. I will not buy these again.

Good Price - Made Well
The 2nds were nearly as good as the PDR original, but at the price paid a very good smoke.

Don't get the Lanceros
Don't get the Lanceros. They are not lancero sized at all, more of a long Corona (6x42) and the dark wrapper just doesn't want to burn at all, I tried 3 of these so far. Also, they have no flavor to speak of, which is strange, not even a bad flavor, just no flavor. Try a different overrun.

Just ok. Smokable, but not great.

Some very good, some not
I've had some really nice sticks out of a handful of these bundles, but there are a few stinkers, flavor-wise. For the price, though, I have no regrets.

PDR Overruns
Smoking one as I type this. Very good stick. My first order of PDR overruns from CI were the Robusto. They had a slightly darker wrapper than the Toros and to me a richer flavor. The problem with the Robusto, which is not a bad problem is that by the time I nubbed it I was wishing it was a longer smoke. That's why my second order were the Toros. Both are awesome smokes. I just wish the Toros were as good (imho) as the Robustos. I realize with overruns it's a crapshoot with what you will get. When I order these overruns again (and I will) I'll order the Robustos again hoping to get the same blend as before. As I said both are awesome smokes and an awesome value from CI. Splitting hairs my personal preference is one over the other. Either will get smoked with much pleasure.

continued satisfaction
It's true you never know which blend you will get when ordering any of the PDR Overruns cigars. I have never been disappointed by what is sent, whether it be Habanos, Maduras, etc...This latest batch of Torpedos are Reserva Limitadas, one of my favorite cigars. I have two mazos of RL robustos maturing now, so it was nice to get that blend in a larger size. You can't go wrong buying any of the PDR overruns, you might find a new cigar that's to your liking but might not have ever bought just to try out. You can usually figure out which blend you get by comparing your purchase with the pictures in the Big List of Brands and by the reviews of previous buyers. Save money and enjoy good smokes!!

A very good product at a reasonable price. Likely to repeat this purchase.

Decent Throwdown cigar
A great everyday cigar.
5 out of 5
Solid bargain smokes.
These bargain smokes have a great draw and a tolerable, medium body flavor. Not full of nuances but never harsh or grassy. I'd recommend them for backup smokes to some tasty morsels you order at the same time.
5 out of 5
Haven't had a bad cigar yet.
Every single order I've made of the Pinar del Rio overruns has been good. Some have been good, some have been outstanding, but I've never had a bad bunch of cigars.

Why I like Pinar Del Rio
I order the overruns because the price is right. And I do enjoy the flavor. This is not a top of the line but it is not at the bottom either. They have a good taste. The overruns sometimes have a different color exterior but always a enjoyable taste and flavor. The Pinar Del Rio overruns are pretty much my favorite. And your service and courteous staff keep me coming back. This is a great every day cigar

fantastic deals
It's true when CI says you don't know which variety you will receive when ordering the PDR Overruns. I usually buy the Toro size mazos, and the first few times I got cigars that had Habano wrappers and were very good. Two orders ago I bought a mazo of Toros and one of Robustos. Both had very dark Maduro wrappers, and the Toros had a pig-tail twist on the caps. The wrappers were rough looking and to the touch and had some prominent veins. Pretty wrappers don't impress me because you can't taste pretty, you taste the flavors produced by smoking the tobacco. The cigars were on the full side and very enjoyable. I had not seen or smoked this blend, so I wondered which of the PDR lineup were these cigars. I went looking thru the Big List of Brands, and I found the Seleccion 2010 smokes, and bingo, pictured was the Toro size with the dark black wrapper and pig-tail twist. I scrolled thru the reviews and I found other smokers listed the same characteristics like rough looking wrapper and prominent veins. Great cigars for a low price. My last order included a mazo of Torpedo sized cigars. They aren't as dark as the others, but definitely a nice looking Maduro wrapper. As soon as I lit one up and took a puff, I knew right away they were Reserva Limitadas which have been my most liked cigar from PDR. I have two mazos of the robusto size RLs which provide me with a very good 'yard-gar'. They were in the Clearance section and I got them during one of the 20% discount sales. Great cigars at a Great price...keep it up CI!!!

What a great little cigar for when you don't have an hour or two to sit down. Great flavor with an even burn.

Great everyday cigar
My budget currently limits my choices but these cigars are flavorful even though you get varying blends depending on what's in stock. I'll continue to keep a hefty stock of them even when I can afford to expand my choices which will happen. Thanks CI for this offering!

PDR Overruns Robusto Hits The Mark
The PDR Overruns Robusto is everything you could ask for from a Cigar maker, great rich taste, lots of thick smoke (not politically correct but the self-corrected are non-cigarers) great looks and super great price. I have purchased the PDR Overruns Robustos several times and will continue. Please do not let the PDR folks read this as they might raise the price. PDR I'm yours. Norm Newport Beach, CA

Great cigar
These are really great cigars, I've had no construction or burn issues with these. Overall great cigar for the price.

Expected a little more after reading other reviews.
Taste was OK at start, better in middle, but did not finish very well. Nice burn with volumes of white smoke. However, while some cigars you tend to smoke down to the nub, not this one. Very harsh at the last one inch.

Customer Testimonials
Man, I can't go on enough about this stick. Every time I toast the foot on one I think eh, ok, but does this stick ever fine tune the shorter it gets. I love this smoke. Try them. You will not be disappointed.
Got 18 holes in today. Shot a one over par 73. Haven't done that in over a year. Must have been the two PDR Overruns I had on the course.
Oops! Hit the wrong button. My second review of these sticks. Half through my first order and still completely satisfied with this smoke. I can afford more expensive sticks ( $100.00 or more for 20) but that's a hard sell to Momma! So, I will keep ordering these overruns as long as they are in stock. Frankly, I've had the expensive sticks and they are good but I like these overruns just as much. A no brainier and Momma is happy. Life is good!
Excellent stick! Excellent flavor! Excellent burn & ash! Played 36 holes today & smoked two on the course. Now having one with a glass of bourbon. Life is good!
Definitely the Habanos. Best draw of any cigar I have ever had. Silky smooth. Don't get them and save them for me please!
These half coronas got me through the winter. Very good cigar for the price.
PDR has quickly become top tier in my book, and with these prices I am happy. My only problem was that when lighting sometimes the area were the flame touches the cigar can start to blaze real quick.
I can't say enough good things about this cigar that hasn't already been said. Each one was well constructed which is difficult to find even in higher priced smokes. Getting ready to order two more bundles of the Churchills since the last ones were so great.
Got the toro size. They are maduros. I'm pretty new to the cigar experience, but these are very good cigars. Thanks CI. Just wish I knew what brand they were....
What can I say? I got the Maduro in the Robusto size. I couldn't ask for a better smoke. My palate is not yet refined enough to detect and identify the subtle tastes that many cigar reviewers describe, but I know a smooth, sweet, and creamy smoke when I have one. I've been through about 12 so far and all have been outstanding. PDR rules.
I was skeptical, but these are excellent sticks at a fantastic price. I will definitely be buying these again!
I ordered the short gordo and from the descriptions of the banded versions, I'm pretty sure it's the PDR 1878 Cubano Especial Capa Natural. They have a good burn, good construction and a nice flavor, but they are very mild and the flavor is very subtle. I usually smoke medium to full maduros, so I was a bit disappointed in the lack of strength. Mild cigar smokers should enjoy this though.
Do not buy these cigars... because I don't want them to run out because I want them. When they came in yesterday I lit one and even though they were out of a humidor during shipping, the one I lit tasted and burned flawless. I have tried to find the right cigar at a right price to not break my bank and this is the one. Honestly a great job from PDR. Beware though this is not a cigar for a new smoker. You will turn green if you are not a seasoned cigar smoker lol. But if you know your cigars and want flavor to setisfy you, then this is it.
I got a bundle of the PDR Torpedo's and I've smoked about 10 of them so far. I don't normally like to leave negative feedback, but I felt the need on these. I must have gotten a bad batch of them, cause the reviews all seem to be positive. I'm just not impressed with the burn quality or taste. I know they are pretty low priced, but I've found way too many others on this site that were much better for the same price. You never know until you try.
I bought 2 mazos of Toro's and got the 1878's. The ones I got smoke perfect every time and are one of the best cigars I ever bought. I wish they all came out this good. I am saving my 2nd Mazo for special occasions. Great flavor med smoke. The best buy ever for me. I don't hand out to many of these.
I ordered a bundle of Lanceros - lots of flavor and a great smoke! They are hard to find and in seconds almost impossible. After trying a bundle I liked them so much that I got another bundle. Very well made and the burn was smooth and the draw was not loose. I will be getting more when they run out. Arthur Philadelphia Penna.
I stopped in at a CI store to pick up a different cigar, I can honestly say I am glad they were out, because I picked up these great cigars. I am relatively new to the cigar world, and have been looking for an every day smoke. The Pinar Del Rio Overruns are now my go to cigar on a daily basis. Planning to puck up another bundle soon.
In my first two reviews on the robusto sizes I ordered, two mazos at a time, I said I thought they were the Habano Sun Grown. On my latest order I got two mazos in the toro size. I got them a few days ago, and saw these had a darker wrapper, and they were labeled 6 x 50 Habano. I pulled out one of my pdr robustos and these were definitely not the same blend. After checking the pictures and descriptions, I now know the robustos were Small Batch habanos and these toros are the Sun Grown Habanos. Both of these are fantastic cigars for the price, and I cannot see not keeping them in humidor of daily smokes. They do not taste, smell or burn like cheapy cigars, they burn true and produce an excellent ash. At the sale prices I paid on these smokes, they will definitely have a place in my humidor with the everyday 'go to' smokes. Great cigars and at a fantastic CI price, you have nothing to lose.
These cigars are excellent! (I bought the robusto) I had a couple that had an uneven burn and a couple others would put itself out close to the final third. But that will not stop me from buying these again! Great cigar for the price. Highly recommended. Thanks C.I.
Never had Pinar del Rios before I bought this and I'm pretty satisfied with the quality for the price. This cigar is pretty peppery and robust, but satisfying. My only complaint is that I've noticed that the last third of the cigar almost always goes out on its own unless you're chain smoking it. Overall good for the price.
Loved these so much I bought another 20 within a week and my neighbors loved them also, great deal!
For the price I figured I would give these a shot. I got the robusto, they aren't a very strong cigar. They are however very pleasant and produce a very nice amount of creamy smoke. I can't say that any cigar I have gotten at this price has been this good. Would certainly order again.
Got a bundle last night, smoked one today. They look like maduros to me, but who knows. Full on the palate, didn't get harsh til the very end. White as an ash as I've seen in a while. I would recommend these, and I will buy more. I think they would age very nicely.
Ordered my first bundle of PDR and they are delicious think I got the Reserva Limitada. Its like a little candy bar will be definitely getting more of these babies!
ahh yes PDR over runs, these are great right outta the truck!!Being a big fan of PDR anyway ,and the CI great price you just cant beat these overruns .By no means are these seconds, smooth flawless wrapper ,awesome draw and the habano s taste great.Well heres another attaboy to the folks at CI,you guys rock!! ....loyal customer for life!!!
Came to my house (Texas) within 4 days. Lit one up right out of the freakin box. Seems like it had been in my collidor for months. Buy them now. You will be just as impressed!!!!! Andre
Got the robustos they are very good. Leathery medium taste, dark wrapper and they burn great. They are getting better every day.
These are definitely legit … take it from a total PDR fan (me) … your $$$ will be well spent!
Great quick cigar.
I smoke the Pinar del Rio's when I'm doing yard work. Good cigar for this purpose/
First time I tried these. I bought a bundle of the half corona. For a buck apiece, I had to give it a try. I am not disappointed. Nice burn, easy draw, smooth. When I run out, I will restock. Great price on a short smoke.
These cigars were a big hit with friends
Got a mazo of these just yesterday and lit one up over lunch city...hello pepperville...but there's also some cedar and a little hint of vanilla in the robusto length for 29 a case and it's worth it...had gotten a PDR sampler case or two a couple weeks back and love them, so figured why not go for these little nuggets to enjoy...glad I did...I am a fairly recent fan of PDR, but if they keep making them this good, I'll be making them a solid favorite brand...
I ordered two mazos because I like everything from PDR, so knew I would be getting something good no matter what blend I received. These are the Sun Grown Habanos...just read their description so I don't have to repeat it here. A very excellent smoke for the price. Will keep ordering these overruns, who knows which blend I will get next time!Ordering two packages lets me put one away for aging, and one pack goes in my desktop humidor to be included in my daily rotation. You can't go wrong with any of the blends at this fantastic price.
I ordered two bundles on Sunday, got them in the mail box Wednesday. Paying for priority mail really helps keep the cigars from having to sit in the humidor for a few weeks to mellow out after being in the mail. The two bundles were the same blend, and right away I believed they were the Sun Grown Habanos. On the bottom of the bundles it listed them as Robustos, 52 x 5, Habano This seems to confirm they were the Sun Growns. As usual, I had to fire one up just as soon as I got home and they are just a fantastic smoke for the price. Read the profile, I won't repeat it here but it was right on the mark. A really good smoke for less than $1.50 I am glad to have even if it would be number four on my order list. I will keep ordering these overruns as long as they are in stock, maybe I will get lucky next time and get one or more of the other fantastic blends. If I get too many of the same blend I will gladly send them over to some of the troops serving in Afghanistan who can really use a quality smoke to relax with after a long, tough week.
I like my cigars to have a little kick to them and these certainly have that. I became a fan of Pinar del Rio cigars through the Joe Cigar specials and keep a variety of them in my humidors. When I saw CI had the overruns I decided to give them a try. I cannot tell them apart from the firsts, not in flavor or in appearance. The only shortcoming is that you don't know which blend you're getting, but I'm fine with that because I haven't met a Pinar del Rio cigar yet I didn't love. This is a five star cigar at a 2 star price. Get some, you won't be disappointed.
These reminded me of the Habanos. I loved every puff! I hope you stock plenty more of these in the future, especially the Toros. These do not deserve to be called seconds but I love the price.
Ordered a bundle of the robustos, think they are Reserva Limitada that I got, crazy excellent! first one right of the truck was perfect, creamy smooth and tons of smoke, not a second to be sure! top notch held its ash past the half way mark. Smoked the RL before and loved it and this one is no exception! keep the over runs coming, gonna go for the Ghurka's next, thanks CI!!
