Nestor Miranda Special Selection

A bold handmade from Nicaragua.

Nestor Miranda Special Selection is a tasty handmade named after its creator - that’s Nestor Miranda for those of you not paying attention, maker of Don Lino cigars. Carefully crafted by hand in Nicaragua, the Special Selection is available in two choice varieties: a silky Rosado wrapper or a dark Nicaraguan-grown oscuro. The long-filler mixture of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Dominican tobaccos is extensively aged, and promises an eventful medium to full-bodied bouquet of flavor. The smoke is rich and woody, with a delightful coffee component and a unique touch of sweetness on the finish.

Nestor Miranda Special Selection received a healthy 91-point rating, which noted:

"....a complex array of leather and nuts balanced by sweet spice and nougat. Flavors are medium bodied, verging on full as the cigar progresses. "

Smoked the Gordito oscuro. Didn't produce a lot of smoke but lots of nice flavor. Seemed well made. Sort of reminded me of the Ashton VSG but for a fraction of the price. Will being smoking more, and looking forward to it.

I've had this wee cigar in my humidor since CigarFest '8. (Nestor Miranda Special Selection)It's a bit shorter than any listed, but it's still quite a good cigar. I'd call it about a medium + cigar with a flavour that's quite pleasing. A slightly tight draw, but firm ash and an even burn. Nice flavour and a nice price.

Lit-up this little maduro today (Nestor Miranda Special Selection) before lunch, and heck who needs to eat with this great smoke in my mouth. Nestor Miranda Special Selection is a decent smoke with a great price. It's short so don't rush it, burns smooth and has a great long white ash. Plesantly surprized, when your smoking Padron's 1964's all the time, but trust me you will like this cigar. Good job CI, Thanks for the smooth sampler pak, this is why I purchase them to live and learn, and enjoy...

I received the Nestor Miranda Special Selection part of the COMC Club, the long Lancero version and it was disappointing. Compared to something else from Don Lino like the Africa cigar; it was pretty dry, burned uneven, emitted a brownish smoke, and looked plain old defeated. I kept it in the humidor for about two weeks before somking at about 68% humidity. The prelight aroma was interesting but once I lit the cigar it tasted old.

Ok, I have to say I smoke a lot of cigars from Fuente to Punch to, well you get the picture.. The (Nestor Miranda Special) I received was just plain perfect.. Everything about this cigar from the taste to the burn was perfect.. Try one you'll see.

I just really enjoyed smoking the (Nestor Miranda Special Selection) , which was a Cigar of the Month Club offering. Although the wrapper was a bit dried up and didn't hold together very well, the flavor was very nice. I definitely got the wood hints and entire stick was loaded with a nice smooth rich taste. It might not have looked real pretty, but this baby delivered. I'd prefer a different shape such as a robusto next time though.

Yet another masterpiece from Don Pepin Garcia! I think the Rosado wrapper is unbeatable but you maduro guys might prefer the Oscuro version. I've smoked through two boxes of these now and can't remember one stick that didn't burn perfectly. These are well constructed (it is a Pepin blend after-all) and have quickly become my favorite smoke.
