La Perla Habana Cazadores

La Perla, now in dirt cheap.

If you've been checking out the competition (shame on you!), you know that our prices on La Perla Habana are crazy-low. 93-rated handmades for less than $3 apiece in a box - it's nutty. Probably too nutty. But that's who we are, and it's what we do. Like they say, old habits die hard and discounting runs in our blood. Can't change, don't wanna change, will never here's round #2,574. The brand new LPH Habano is yours starting at a paltry buck-twenty-five apiece.

LPH Cazadores by La Perla Habana is bred for everyday enjoyment and, of course, rich Cuban-esque flavor. Crafted with a top-grade Habano Criollo wrapper leaf and an aged 'Cuban Sandwich' blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, this medium-bodied blend offers flavor in droves. Notes of cedar, rich tobacco, pepper, earth, and nuts are present before a delicious, slightly sweet finish. It's tasty, no doubt. And at my massively discounted prices, you can burn through 'em recklessly and still have enough cash left over to splurge on super-sizing.

Disappointing for a Perla
Good flavor, hard draw

the truth
I try a lot of different cigars by buying samplers. Discovered this one in the Bender Ender and REALLY enjoy the taste so I stocked up:) My brother loves them too:)

Real nice cigar
Excellent for the sale price.

Tre cigars I recently purchased are a good smoke, slow and mild. They definitely were better than I was thinking. A good humidor filler.

Walk On By
They're weak and they burn funny. Don't buy them.

For the price, they can't be beat. Great flavor and very smooth.

La Perla Habana Cazadores Churchill
Relatively firm draw. Mild flavor, no tobacco bite, with almost sweet cedar flavor maintained throughout burn. Goes well with tea or coffee. Wrapper does not crack or fall apart. Burns relatively even usually. Excellent cigar.

If you like dense smoke and I do.
If you enjoy dense white smoke swirling around your head as you sit back and let time stand still, if you like a nice clean label, if you like a quality smoke for low cost then you need to try La Perla Habana Cazadores soon. Just not too soon because I really should get another box to have on hand. Or if you would like to send me a box my birthday is in June please don't let me stop you!

Well valued!
A good valued cigar with a good burn and draw and acceptable flavor for an every day smoke. Not for special occasions.

Poorly constructed; terrible draw; no taste. The trifecta of an awful cigar. Tried three - throwing the other 17 in the trash.

good taste when no other problems
very inconsistent cigar...sometimes a good smoke but usually a poor wrap, sometimes soft, burns uneven and goes out....

Not the Best
These smokes dissapointed me slightly ........... the flavor was ok and the price was good but the burn was horrible ...... everyone i lit had some sort of problem with burning unevenly ........ i gave it 2 stars because of that. I've had much better La Perla's ...... this ones not bad if you're not to concerned about relighting it or cutting some away to get it burning even again. ...... probably wont be buying these again :/

Don't do it.....
I'M admittedly new to cigars, but the ones I got were awful. Mostly tasted like burning cedar twigs wrapped in a paper towel. Hints of sulfur and ammonia added some complexity, but it was mostly a one hit wonder. Also got some Maker's choice minis, which had more flavour, were much more pleasant and just blew these out of the water. CI is awesome, just get anything but these.

Good Price
Very Nice everyday smoke. Nice on the golf course, where you don't mind handing out a few and loosing your shit.

Too dry
Extremely dry, even after being in a humidor for a week.

An everyday smoke when you want to go mild
The La Perla Habana Cazadores is an excellent everyday smoke. Great construction, consistent quality with a good draw. First third a little pepper and toasted bread, good tobacco flavor and a slight hint of cedar. Not much change in the remaining cigar just a slight increase in the cedar with a long finish for a mikd cigar. I have reordered numerous times and have never been dissapointed. A great value.

La Perla Habana Cazadores my everday smoke
This cigar started out as a humidor filler, the price was right and I wasn't ashamed to give them out to friends. After a while I found myself reaching for one of these on a daily basis. La Perla Habana Cozadores is now my everyday smoke. They are a great smoke and with as many as I bought I can not remember every getting a bad stick.

Name doesn't hold up
I've always liked La Perla's, but these sticks don't burn evenly, can be tight at times, and well, are pretty bland.

Low price-high pleasure
Tried the La Perla toros and liked them - ordered the Churchills and like them too. A reasonable price for an above average smoking experience.

Cazadores are a fantastic every day smoke
If you are looking for a good value and an amazing smoking experience, you should take advantage of the small price and huge flavor of the La Perla Habana Cazadoes. I prefer the 30 minute smoke from the robusto. A perfect draw is complimented by a solid white smoke and coffee,, cedar and spice on the palet.

Maybe some potential
This is my second review and I will admit these cigars are getting better with some time in the box . I see some potential with these cigars . My first review was titled never again . This one I would say should be titled if the price is right .a little time in the humidor has given these cigars a little character . I will try another one in a month are so and get back to you ...

3rd time Order
I have ordered these twice before. They were quite enjoyable. This order the quality was very inconsistent and sometimes not very enjoyable. Will try something else next time

Good stick after spending time in my humidor
I've only been smoking cigars for a couple of years. Like many I look for value without compromising a good smoke. When I received these in the mail I wanted to try one right away. I did have to relight it a couple of times and liked the taste but wasn't too happy with it not staying lit. I decided to leave them in the humidor for a good while. After 3 weeks they smoke completely differently and I would buy these again based on the difference after being in my humidor for awhile.

Room For Improvement
I tried La Perla's Black Pearl and it was delicious, so I decided to try their Habana Cazadores. They don't measure up to the test. The flavor is good, and the aroma is pleasant, however, the person wrapping the cap on these cigars needs to go back to school to learn how to properly cap a cigar. At least four cigars in every bundle had air leaks where the cap was improperly placed. I will probably not buy them again.

Never again
Not for me . Cigars looked nice and went down hill from there . Very little smoke . Hard to even get a mouthful to taste . On my do not buy list .

good flavor
Draw was good, construction good. Burn required occasional touch up, but no major canoes. Medium spicy flavor. I enjoyed these cigars, esp for the price, smoked them to a nub. My order was a bundle of the torpedo's on clearance. Only issue is since a short filler cigar, and there's no way to punch cut a torpedo, would be occasionally spitting small pieces of tobacco (I have a tendency to "chomp" on my cigars). Will order robusto's next time

I really don't expect much at this price, but I bought 2 robusto bundles...and was still let down. Worst draw ever, little-to-no smoke even when you get one to burn. Try all your tricks to get a pull; poke, cut, poke...ZERO smoke, ZERO flavor...consistently.

Once you get past the first 3rd, the flavor and smooth draw kick in. Mild to medium, a little tight. Great for the price, I recommend the robustos.

La Perla Habana
I very much enjoyed these La Perla cigars.

Won't buy them again.
These are not very flavorful and are very mushy and burn hot! No, it's not my humidor as all the rest of my cigars are fine. Anyway, I've tossed out more of these than I've smoked. I won't be buying them again...
Customer Testimonials
I rate these as average. A short filler cigar with a tight draw, they burn down quickly as all short filler cigars do. Flavor is good and overall these are probably worth the money.
Great cigar for the price!
Big bang for the buck!
Just ordered a second bundle. I had no issues with tight draw or poor construction. Great smoke for the money...tasty!
Smokable…but that's about all I can say. The taste was very uneventful. I will be getting these again. For an inexpensive cigar, they'll do.
I enjoyed La Perla very much. When I got these in I put them in my humidor for a few weeks and when burned one it was great. For the money you can't miss.
Rolled way to tight. Can not draw.
Two months in the humidor and they're smokeable. For a short filler with a bitter Natural wrapper, there not the worst cigars I've smoked. There the second worst the Bad Frog was the worst. Price was good, and thats about all I can say. I may have gotten a bundle that was worse than others, but I'm not going to try again.
After 3 months in the humidor, these are improving by loosing the bitter taste and a more even burn.
For the money, this is a decent cigar and one that I would reorder for the 4 day a week, "5 a.m ride home from work" cigar!
Not being able to resist the price, I bought a bundle of 20 and have about 5 left. 1 out of every 3 has had a very tight draw that really takes the pleasure of smoking them. I got so ticked off at one that I cut about 2 inches off the end and that actually made a big difference, so it would seem that it's mostly the torpedo end that is wrapped way to tight. Even after 2 months in my humidor there are still some with issues. Another problem I had with several of them was the wrapper coming loose. When I get a good one it's enjoyable and worth the price....
Like some other reviewers, my experience was mixed. Overall, I like the flavor - it's right in my wheelhouse - but the inconsistency of the wraps can be very frustrating....
My palate does not detect such nuances as "notes of leather with a peppery finish" because I don't smoke leather or pepper, but I like tobacco. The LPH Cazadores is a very pleasant surprise. Attractively packaged at a very reasonable price. I initially bought a mazo of twenty for low cost hand-outs, but increasingly found a reason to smoke them for myself. For a sandwich type construction the Cazadores had an excellent burn and produced nice clouds of medium bodied smoke. One or two in the mazo of twenty were packed too tight, a disappointment which was remedied in the traditional manner. Let me hasten to add it did not prevent me from re-ordering more. Frankly, I have paid a lot more for cigars that I enjoyed a lot less than these. This is an above average smoke priced for everyday enjoyment and it is so good that it encouraged me to try other cigars in the La Perla Habana line.
These are not bad cigars, but be forewarned that you get what you pay for. They draw well and taste pretty good for something in that price range. But, short filler cigars like these should be recognized as a food group. You spend quite a bit of time spitting out little pieces of filler as you smoke these.
So far, it looks like reviews on these have been mixed. I think these cigars are great. From experience, these cigars get better after sitting in the humi for a while.... These seem to start a bit mild, but like a great song, have a climactic conclusion. Truly, a tasty smoke....
Good taste, but this cigar is rolled so tight....I have to keep using a poker to stick up in the cigar to keep an airway open in order to smoke....
OK for the price. The burn, so far, results in a severe canoe.
Solid cigars for the price. Mild and lengthy.
Not too shabby for a $1.50 Churchill!
When I first got them, the burn was too tight (despite the good flavor). Just a few weeks in my humidor later, the draw was still fairly tight, but the flavor was definitely improved. If you have time to let these sit for a few weeks, this is a great buy! I will definitely be ordering these in the future!
Ordered some of these along with some $1 sticks. Can't believe how good these are for only $0.50 more. 2 out 3 so far have had a perfect draw. Would definitely order these again. Thank you, CI.
I would pay double or triple the price for this's THAT good! What a great deal, less than $2 a stick for a 93-rated GREAT smoke!
Purchased some La Perla Habana Cazadores in the torpedo size a couple of weeks ago. Out of the bundle of 20, 3 cigars had noticeably green wrappers and stood out dramatically. There were also about 5 cigars rolled into an incredibly thin and tight piramide rather than a standard torpedo width and shape. All these failed to smoke properly. After some time to readjust in my humidor, I cut one normal looking cigar from the bundle and tried to light it. It was too plugged to smoke, 3 cigars later I have found one that will draw air. I'm smoking it now and can't help but be disappointed. I know these cigars are young and may benefit from age, but I was expecting more from La Perla Habana. The cigar I am smoking tastes green, unrefined and has an acidic bite on the aftertaste. I do not know if I will make it halfway through it. Hopefully age will make these cigars smokeable.
After months of anticipation, finally got my mazo of LPH Cazadores in the mail today. (Get the priority mail shipping, cigars get here in 3-4 days and are smokable right away). Loaded them in the humidor and fired one up. WOW, an answer to a lot of experimentation. This is the best robusto I have ever smoked that is in this price range. The description is perfect, so I won't repeat it. A very good everyday smoke, nothing spectacular, but great for the price. Reminds me a lot of the LPH Classic for less money. Good indicator was a very tight white ash, and I nubbed it without any harshness or burning hot. Thank you CI for bringing this cigar to us. Will be a regular for me.
Just got mine in, right out of the box they were exactly as advertised, "Notes of cedar, rich tobacco, pepper, earth, and nuts are present before a delicious, slightly sweet finish" delish! Glad I ordered right away to reorder before the weekly special is over.
had several of them and every one is a very tight draw, also has a harsh bitter taste and dies out very quickly.
