Don Pepin Garcia Legado de Pepin
New from the maker of the #1 Cigar of 2012.
I'll be honest, I was a little confused when this brand showed up at CI HQ. Pepin's Cat, right? My high school Spanish class was finally paying dividends. But I still didn't understand the name. Fortunately, my slightly albino red-haired co-worker must have been paying better attention in class. I was quickly corrected. Legado=Legacy, El Gato=Cat.
Legado de Pepin is carefully blended by Don Pepin Garcia and handmade in Nicaragua. A Nicaraguan puro crafted with a dark, oily 5-year-aged Corojo wrapper, a Criollo binder and a feisty Cuban-seed blend of long-fillers. Perfect balance, ample flavor, and plenty of body are immediately present. But it's the subtle nuances that really round out the flavor and create a highly memorable experience. Sweet cedar, dark chocolate, earth, nuts, and plenty of spice. Bold, but perfectly refined and brimming with flavor, this is what a cigar should be. It's Pepin at his finest, and the price is crazy low. For fans of full-flavored boutique handmades, this is no doubt a gift.
