Camacho Candela

Email
A candela unlike no other.

Camacho is known for creating some of the industry's finest and fullest cigars. In fact, the Camacho Corojo was named Top Full-Bodied Cigar by Cigarcyclopedia - 100 of the best cigars were judged, including today's top Cubans.

The Candela is a step away from the norm for the Camacho brand. While the Honduran-grown, Cuban-seed tobaccos that comprise the filler are the same as the standard Camacho Corojo, the wrapper is a colorful green candela that's leathery and smooth. This combination results in an incredibly smooth smoke from start to finish that offers satisfying earthy tones and a long-lasting aftertaste. Mild to medium-bodied (at best), if you've ever been tempted to sample a candela-wrapped cigar, this is the one to try.

“CI is one of the few places to carry these. The Camacho Candela is the best Candela I have come across and I have tried the Candela of at least 6 different premium brands.”

“Best description I can give is: Mild taste, but a real kneeknocker. I love these cigars, and suggest you try one immediately (Camacho Candela).”

“Man what a cigar (Camacho Candela). Not for the weak at heart. I had to lay down after smoking this one. Tasted great, along with making me sweat to pieces. Burn lasted for a least a couple of hours. Don't stand up to quickly and make sure you have no important decisions to make when smoking this one. Another fine Cigar Of The Month suprise.”

“This is a wolf in sheeps clothing. It's a Camacho Corojo with a smoother, creamier profile due to the candela wrapper. Like others have written it will take you by surprise in the strength department. There is nothing boring about the flavor or complexity of this cigar. My taste tends to run more on the medium side and the light wrapper does a nice job of taking a full bodied cigar down a notch without giving up any spicey flavor. I think many have passed it by due to preconceived notions of the candela wrapper. I like this cigar a lot and highly recommend it.”

“Mild? Mild?!!?...not this one (Camacho Candela)! what a great smoke! I'm a big fan of full bodied cigars and was really skeptical of candela cigars after trying several over the years and found them lacking in any real flavor...but this one! what a cigar! All I can say is WOW! I love it!”

“I think there were three of these (Camacho Candela) which came in a sampler pack I purchased recently and I wasted the first two by smoking them right out of the box. They just weren't ready to be smoked. The third one found its way to the bottom of the humi for about a month when one morning I came across it looking for a good morning smoke. "It'll have to do" I thought since I was out of "mild" everything else. Boy what a difference a little time made. I just couldn't believe how much I LOVED this little cigar! If you don't believe me, buy an 8-pack and stick em away for a while and then see if this isn't one of the most delicious cigars you've ever smoked in your entire life, regardless of price.”

“I just checked back to this page from the BLOB to see if these were available now in the toro size. I thought I had written a review of these quite a long time ago, guess not. I just read through the other reviews, and I can only concur with all of the positive comments. I, too, got a couple as part of a Camacho toro sampler, and I actually liked the toro the best. Since then Camacho has greatly improved its blends and quality of tobaccos. But I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the toro Candela, it was smooth, flavorful and had that stealth strength that sneaks up, which another reviewer mentioned. I wish Camacho would make them available again, and maybe have a special on them from time to time to make them affordable to the ordinary household budget. Thanks!”

“warning: this camacho candella toro is a sneak attack cigar, the pearl harbor of cigars ,if you will.you see that velvety pail green wrapper, and your thinkin, light weight , mellow, and maybe even too mild.these were purchased in that 50 dollar camacho sampler,[that is now sold out, please, how 'bout another sampler at that price from camacho] i'll stop begging, i waited 2 months to try these, "not a big candella fan" so i inspected this cigar ,while my face kept making these faces , you know those faces you make when you gotta clean the garage ,or those faces you you make when the next pollitical add comes on.that's it. well, i endure.first thing i notice from the start , is a mild first half inch, pleasent enough aroma, nothing too spectacular, but better than most candella ive smoked,i can actually taste tobacco here, about half way through the spice kicks in and it becomes much more flavorful, then all of a sudden, im staring out into the distance, zoning out, if you will . whooaaa! i gotta sit down, man, im thinkin, i smoked an edge for breakfast this morning with my coffee and a twinkie, maybe im on an empty belly , so i sit down to regroup , put the cigar down for about ten minutes, and started again. the last half of the cigar was medium to full in body with a lot of flavor, that damn green wrapper sure will give you a false since of security ,make no mistake about it , this is camacho. i should have known better. this is not a mild cigar.plenty powerful, i love it. earthy and light floral notes with plenty of black pepper. more intense on the finish, but not harsh. this smoke punched me right in the jaw when i wasnt lookin.”

“This was my first (Camacho Candela) , and some of my dissatisfaction is my own fault. I let one get a bit dry, and it was sharp as hell....I overcompensated (I'm a beginner) and the next got a bit soft. Finally got my humidor right...and the last one was pretty good. Now I know a bit more about the cigar care (and it's effects) I will be able to enjoy.”

“What a great smoke!! This was my very first Candela Ever. I've been wanting to try candelas for a long time but was skeptical and I didn't want to buy a whole box and be disappointed. I smoked these with friends who had never smoked candelas before and we all enjoyed these. Great Taste, Good Burn, Nice Price! I'll be buying more of these Stogies.”
