Gurkha Blue Steel

A small-batch lovely.

Let's face it, Gurkha makes a ton of cigars. Its creator Kaizad Hansotia is well known for buying some of the most expensive tobaccos on the market. Tobaccos that most cigar makers quickly glance over, knowing it's not nearly enough to produce an 'evergreen' blend that'll be around for years to come. However, Kaizad cares more about bringing you a unique cigar experience of the highest caliber, even if it won't be around forever, so he utilizes these fine tobaccos to do just that.

Gurkha Blue Steel is a perfect example. Comprised of toothy Costa Rican maduro wrappers - one of the most expensive leaves on the planet - the Blue Steel was limited to just under 50,000 cigars, total. This is due to the exquisite, extensively aged tobaccos within: a bold blend of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Colombian long-fillers. Instantly upon lighting, the age of these tobaccos is evident, as your palate is consumed by rich, but mellow nuances. A toasty array of tobacco flavors smacks the palate, followed by a deep series of toast, wood, and earth. The finish lingers long, satisfying the taste buds throughout the cool burn.

Customer Reviews of “Gurkha Blue Steel”
“Just as advertised, the (Gurkha Blue Steel) , an earthy delight.”
KB of San Francisco, CA
“The (Gurkha Blue Steel) have done it yet again. The Blue Steel is a delightful cigar of perhaps medium strength and wonderful flavour. Excellent draw and burning qualities are evident as well. I bought twenty of the things and will probably get a few more before they're gone.”
MC of MLeesburg, VA
“Got these when CI put them on sale (Gurkha Blue Steel). No regrets here. I thoroughly enjoyed this smoke, even after a week of me forgetting to put them in my humidor (oops) cant wait to try one after a few months in the humi'. I fully recommend giving the Blue Steel a shot. I have yet to smoke a Gurkha that I didn't like”
FL of Maplewood, NJ
“These arrived yesterday as a free promo with my order, what a deal five free cigars that are pretty darn good. If you are a fan of that point where mild transitions into medium than these are for you. Really no negatives, very nice smoke.”
KG of Acton, ME
“This is an awsome smoke (Gurkha Blue Steel). Great burn, great draw. I got the perfectos and could smoke almost the whole cigar before the ash fell off. All were consistently great. I'm here to order more. I too, have never had a bad Gurkha and the Master's Select was my previous favorite.”
TK of San Marcos, TX
“Darn good smoke!! There are no complaints about this one. Smooth, great flavor, and feels good in the hand. My buddies enjoyed them, too! Looking forward to buying more. This one qualifies as an every day cigar with a twist. The twist is that it tastes better than most "every day cigars". Enjoy any time and often! Impressive!”
AB of Del Rio, TX
“I love this cigar (especially at the price)! Full-bodied and full of flavor. My friends and I often smoke them when out fishing on the lake. It's one of my three favorite Gurkha's. If you like full-bodied sticks with a good draw you should pick these up next time CI runs a special.”
JD of Jupiter, FL
“I love Gurkha cigars almost without exception. Since I first discovered the Costa Rican maduro wrapper on a different cigar, I have found a favorite. Mix that wrapper with a Gurkha cigar and it is just a fabulous combination. I could smoke this cigar all day, everyday.”
SW of Karnes City, TX
“I bought a bundle of 20 torpedoes to try out the blue steel,a very nice smoke, the only problem with these sticks is a couple of them split on me after about an inch of smoking them I had to dry box them for about 12 hours and the problem was solved. A very nice everyday stick I will purchase more next order.”
ME of San Bernardino, CA
“Ive had a few of these and ended up buying the bundle of $20 on sale for $45. At the price its a hell of a deal. Id pay double for these smokes. Great everyday smoke. You don't get a huge smoke output and the few I've smoked had tight draws but overall its a nice medium smoke. Would recommend having one while sitting down. Not a great walk around smoke. Overall one of my favorite gurkhas”
BS of KISSIMMEE, FL
“Hard draw on this cigar. The aroma out of the package smelt like cleaning products. I do not reccomend. There is a reason they are priced very low. Not worth it.”
RJ of Temecula, CA
“At first light, the draw is smooth; not too tight and not too loose. The smoke from the draw is light and airy with a short and slightly dry finish. The foot burns slowly but has plenty of smoke output. I taste nuttiness and woody flavors, possibly oak and cedar. Smokiness and pepper are the flavors from retro-haling; at this point there's not too much spice thru the nose.”
NM of MAYVIEW, MO
“In my opinion it's a good smoke. I did have some problems with my wrapper cracking, and a hard draw on a couple of sticks. It could have been error on my part though, but all-in-all for the price you can't go wrong. That being said, I still give it a 2 thumbs up ! ALOHA !!!”
