Gran Habano Cabinet Selection

The latest from Gran Habano.

Gran Habano has emerged as a top small-production, boutique family of brands. Its recent 90-ratings, 'Best Buy,' and 'Top 25 Cigar' honors have finally caused folks to take notice. Each blend offers bold, extensively aged tobaccos and carefully selected wrappers, creating a full-flavored, smooth, balanced smoke that's heavy in the hand and slow-burning to boot.

The Cabinet Selection is no different, and might be the strongest cigar in the Gran Habano family of robust blends. On the outside, a Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper glistens with oils, complementing its lovely reddish hue. Inside, a bold mixture of Nicaraguan long-fillers resides. The attractive box-press ensures a cool, slow burn, allowing you to truly enjoy the full-flavored, yet balanced nuances each vitola has to offer. Expect flavor in droves, most notable: toast, earth, nuts, and sweet spices.

The Gran Consul was a fantastic smoke. I wish CI would put these on the Jam or offer a little better deal on a 5 pack though. Very similar profile to the Padron 1964's. Coffee, chocolate, smooth. Not many people are familiar with this smoke, but I guarantee they would be hooked if they tried one! Easy to find in your local shop, but CI still has a better deal on the 5 pack.
I have yet to try the GHCS; however, I have had the Gran Habano 3 Siglos and they are everything CI says they are; a must have in the ol' Humi !!
I have smoked four of these in the robusto size (albeit, not from CI), and I can't figure out why they command such a high price. Although this can be a nice sweet, mild to medium smoke, two of them had major construction problems, with the worst being a bunch of stems that ran about a quarter of the length of the cigar, producing a hot mushy stick with a tight, lopsided burn that refused to stay lit, and dry, muted flavors. An aberration, maybe, but 50% isn't a very good average. I'll stick to GH's other cigars, as this one was a big disappointment.
Absolutely love the Gran Habano Cabinet Selection. This is the best cigar George Rico produces. Thank CI for offering this tremendous cigar at CI prices. I'm a customer forever!
