The darker, bolder variety of the world's number one cigar of 2008.
Manuel 'Manolo' Quesada began making cigars in 1974, and has quietly remained one of the world's best cigar makers ever since. Known best for maintaining the legendary Fonseca label and blending the original, Dominican-made Romeo y Julieta, Manolo is an expert in the world of premium, handmade cigars producing some of the finest and most consistent cigars money can buy.
Despite decades of experience, Manolo truly hit it big with Casa Magna - rated '93' and considered to be his greatest innovation to date. To craft the Oscuro variety, a dark and lush Honduran Oscuro wrapper conceals a bold mixture of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan and Honduran long-fillers secured by a Cuban-seed Honduran binder. Prior to rolling, these tobaccos are extensively aged and carefully fermented to perfection. After rolling, the cigars are further aged in cedar vaults, then released in very limited quantities. Each Casa Magna Oscuro burns slow and cool, producing an eventful bouquet of dark tobacco flavors, rich notes of earth, wood, and a slightly sweet touch of licorice. Complex and medium to full in body, Casa Magna Oscuro truly is a work of art blended by one of the most knowledgeable cigar artisans in the business.
