Gurkha Overruns Habano

Gurkha produces more blends than most of us can even count. And as you’re likely well aware, they all fetch a steep price on the open market. But when you’re producing millions of cigars annually- in millions of different blends - there will inevitably be leftovers and overproduction of certain sizes and styles. That's exactly what we have here. I can’t tell you precisely which blend is which, but you can expect box-quality handmades at dirt cheap prices.

The Habano variety offers a rich, smooth, medium to full-bodied flavor that's layered with richness and complexity.

Just a small side note, before you move along and scour the list of massively discounted Gurkha Overruns. We’ve been buying and selling Gurkhas for a decade and, until now, we’ve never been presented with an opportunity to buy overruns, seconds or anything of the sort. My point is simple: when we sell what I have, I don’t expect to get replenishments any time soon, if ever. And our supply, while healthy, is gonna go very quickly.

Regret previous review. After a month in my humidor these sticks have improved. A few cracked but still a good value.

I won't smoke overruns unless they are made of long fillers. These fit the bill, and I like Gurkha's anyway. Great everyday smoke.

Dry and brittle. Got what I deserved

Great Deal!!
Not completely convinced that these are 'overruns'...more likely 'cosmetic seconds' but still a terrific bargain. Wish now I'd grabbed a couple more bundles when they were available and will certainly snag some more when/if they're offered again.

A great everyday smoke
I've been smoking Gurkas for years. Before they were discontinued, the Sherpa was my morning with coffee and the paper choice. I guess I tried them all since then. On a whim, I tried the overruns. I knew the Toro would work fine in the morning and I was pleased not to have to spend a whole lot for them. Since they first came out, they are my cigar of choice for around the house; Toro if I have time to spare, Robusto if I don't. I can't tell you about pepper, cedar, shoe leather or any of the other fancy stuff, but I know what I like, and for the near future my monthly order will include the overruns.

Not a lot of flavor in these cigars. Low price that reflects the quality.

Good everyday cigar
This surprisingly was a very good smoke, and yet an expected taste from Gurkha. There were a few that smoked a bit "flatter" than the rest of the bunch, but it's a very good. Nice med-full, robust and spicy flavor, but not overpowering. Great for everyday smoking, without breaking the bank. Certainly worth the purchase.

I Love The Gurkha Overruns
The Gurkha Overruns are my go to cigars on a monthly basis. Both them and the A. Fernandez Overruns are always high quality and a great burn. The best part is not knowing exactly what you may receive but whatever it is you will enjoy it. I'll be on the look-out for my free mazo for the review. :-)

Gurkhas daily!
You might not know what you're gonna get with each stick, but you know it's gonna taste great. One constant was a great pepper wash and thick, very fragrant smoke. Caramel, rich cocoa, and a nuttiness can be found frequently in the bundle. The burn line can get a little crazy at times, but 9 times outta 10 it corrects itself. All around excellent value from a trusted name. You just can't beat that.

The first stick I smoked
The first stick I smoked wasn't bad, a little rough at first, then the second one I had was smoother, all in all not a bad bundle for the price. I use these as my everyday go to cigars.

These are exactly what i would expect from Gurkha. Overruns or not, they are good cigar. Cant beat the price for a quality cigar. This is probably one of the best everyday smokes in my opinion.

Love These Cigars
The Gurkha Overruns A. Fernandez Overruns are my go to cigars when nothing else I like are on special. They are consistently delicious and burn wonderfully for a cigar considered an "overrun". Would, and have, recommended them to many friends and have never heard a bad comment.

A real winner!
Don't confuse these with "seconds" offered by other brands. These are first class Gurkhas and worth three times the price. Will be ordering again, and again.

Gurkha Overruns Habano
Can't go wrong with prices like this. Gurkha Overruns Habano are an okay smoke at first, but after they've seen some time in the ceder box they come to life. I will buy again.

Fine mellow cigar for the price

Not bad
Flavor was good. Burn well, just a little too loosely rolled. Also, in the Habano bundle two of the cigars were actually Maduro.

Once bitten....
(coronas) Am glad I only bought 20. Received very dry. 1st one I smoked cracked at foot then all over. 2nd I took from humidor after a week fell apart in my hand out of cellophane. Now in humidor nearly 2 months, they are smokeable. But flavor is lower than "who cares" for me. Your mileage may vary.

Good Cigar for Price
I am usually a CAO guy, however these are a very good smoke for the price.. the draw on the ones i got was not what i enjoy but i came to expect something to be a bit off with them being overruns and all.. still a very good deal if you can get your hands on them for the price....

Great Smoke to try the Gurkha brand out!
Great smoke, great draw, great taste! Good quality smokes for any occasion. Everyday smoke to special events will bring this smoking experience to a high! The value and the taste surpasses many bundles I have purchased. Great Price for what you get! Will recommend to anyone who loves smoking Gurkha brand and also those who are looking to taste before buying into the upper Gurkha brands. Will buy again.

Great smokes for a great price.
For the money, I'm not sure how you could really go wrong with these. Quickly becoming my daily, regular, smoke. Hoping that Gurkha keeps them coming.

Gurkha Habano Gordo overruns
A good cigar. My go to everyday stick. Not the top of my list but close. The Gurkha brand of cigars are what I prefer. I have other brands in my stock but one cannot go wrong with a Gurkha. I always smoke one out of the bundle of these overruns when they arrive. Then they go in the humidor to stabilize them. I probably smoke 2-3 a week and find that the longer they stay in the humidor at 68-70%, the better they get. Usually after a few months in the humidor, they are as good as any other Gurkha. I do have a hard time leaving them alone for that long. The flavors might vary slightly with each. I always get a good amount of pleasant smoke and usually a medium strength. Most times I detect an earthy woody taste. At times I can detect a bit of cedar too. This cigar is a perfect companion with a bit of single malt scotch. Once in a while I'll find the foot of one a bit shaggy but they light well. No complaints there. The cap is well made and cuts well. Occasionally, one will burn unevenly but not enough to stop smoking it. Most times I get about 45 minutes of smoking with no relights. After smoking these for a while, I have had only one where the wrapper came loose but that was most likely my fault. My wife doesn't smoke cigars but she has said the smoke is pleasant to her. Not so with many others. This is big in my book. All in all, I like this cigar. It's not a super premium but is an enjoyable smoke. I will continue to purchase them as long as you have them. The moochers I know think this is an expensive cigar and I don't tell them what I pay for these sticks. :O) I am close to sending in another order and perhaps I should stock up more than I usually get. I will miss these when they aren't available. With all this said, I see no reason to not give this cigar a 5 star rating. Thank you, Tom Hiser Seward, Nebraska
Customer Testimonials
First time trying the habano robustos, Phenomenal stogies for the price! Let them rest in the humidor for a week before I sparked one up, very nice draw, large plumes of smoke, and very tasty. Inspected each and every one of them and couldn't find any major flaws. Will continue to order a bundle with every order I make at CI! Thanks guys.
Awesome. Best bang for the buck.
These cigars are the bomb. Would buy them in a heartbeat. They burn great; taste great. Great price.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. The wrappers are a bit flimsy, but the taste is definitely there. These are the best I've had in some time, and they remind me why I like Gurkha to begin with.
Very pleased!! All the cigars in the bundle were in perfect condition, great flavor with a nice even burn. What more can you ask for, will most definitely order more!!
Great smoke. I really like the draw and taste. I hope you guys can keep this going.
Awesome cigar, especially for the price.
I get these in the Gordo (6x60). I have yet to have a bad one. My CEO is a cigar smoker and I gave him one of these the other night at dinner. He couldn't believe the quality of the smoke and when he learned the price he was very impressed. You can pay more and in some cases that means you get a better constructed, tastier, nicer burning stick. That isn't the case here. These are good smokes at a hell of a price in my opinion.
Amazing! great deal! every cigar is a good one worth more than what I paid, no disappointments here!! hurry up and get yours!!!!!
Nice cinnamon taste in the smoke.
These are not the greatest cigars you'll ever smoke, but frankly, it is one of the best price points in the cigar market right now. They will not disappoint the seasoned smoker (much) and probably delight the uninitiated (far more). Also, these are overrun cigars, which were rejected for quality purposes, but quality is so high that even overruns are better than anything at this price point.
These cigars are a wonderful find. They have a terrific construction, draw and taste, with a smooth buttery finish. I bought these originally for the golf course or the lawnmower, but they've quickly moved up to be a fine evening cigar with a scotch or a bourbon. Just delightful!
Well worth it great tasting cigar
Got a 20 pack of Churchill's on special. Very spotty. Some had good construction, good draw and some had awful construction and lousy draw. The taste also varied from stick to stick. Seems to be a variety of blends in the same 7 x 50 size. The one I'm smoking now has good flavor and a razor sharp burn. Some others have not been this good. Don't know if I would recommend them or not.
....Bought a bundle of the Churchill and each of the three I've smoked so far has had construction issues. The one I'm smoking right now has an extremely spongy, squishy pack from the beginning of the foot to about an inch and a half in. About 2 inches from the head there is a hard knot. It is obvious that the filler is extremely uneven....These are more like very bad seconds rather than overruns. Out of the many Gurkhas I've tried, the only one worth smoking in my estimation is the Class Regent.
Got a 20 pack of the Habano 7 x 50 and so far have smoked 3. Like almost every other Gurkha I've smoked this one is a pain to keep lit. Requires too many draws per minute to keep it from going out and as a result you lose the flavor profile in a sea of HOT and HARSH. By the time I get a little past the 1/2 way point I'm done with this thing. The scads of rave reviews about Gurkha completely dumbfounds me. My experience with this cigar in a variety of iterations has been about 10% good smokes and 90% frustration. Go figure.
Great draw great burn cannot go wrong here bought the robusto's twice now totally hook on these hope they stay in CI'S stable for some time to come. Enjoy
Love gurkha cigars but not overruns 3out of 10
I have to admit I really thought these over runs would be just as good as the others. I couldn't be more wrong. Very bitter extreamly harsh while exhaling. I was hoping the mistakes in these over runs was just size but these were in the taste plus when I got them they were very dry. Ill stick with the titans status beauty and park avenues.
I have ordered these before and they were very good. However, this shipment was not. They are extremely hard to draw and I have tossed several only half smoked because I got tired of pulling on them and getting nowhere. Don't know what happened, but I don't believe I will be ordering any more of these. I always get good cigars and great service from CI and will continue to do business with them.
WOW! What a great cigar for the price. Being overruns I expected them to be a little "ratty" but they all look perfect. The 1 I smoked burned well straight out of the bundle and the flavor was a perfect medium bodied smoke. What a buy!
These are incredible for the price! I am really interested to know what they are overruns of so that I don't have to worry about limited supply! They are slightly spicy, but I thoroughly enjoy that.
Great cigar for the price. I had one right when I got my package and it was a 6/10 which is okay in the cigar world. After a couple weeks in the humidor they really seasoned and the flavor is a lot smoother. Doesn't taste like a Gurkha, but I would rate it at a 8/10. Great burn, good ash and construction, draws easy, not overwhelming, no awful aroma, but I'll be buying more.
Make no mistake, my friend, these are NOT rejects. These are top quality cigars at a working man's price. Even burn, smooth draw, and an excellent taste for under 2 bucks! If these aren't one of your every day cigars, they should be!!!
Double Toro (6.5"x54) Good burn...good draw. Seems to be more like a Corojo wrapper. Lots of spice. Very enjoyable cigar, but watch out, it can knock your socks off.
Just got these in the mail the other day. I've had a couple now, and have to say I was impressed by these. Great burn, draw and flavor. My buddy loved these. I'm not typically a Gurkha fan but these aren't too bad. Even for seconds or overruns.
An outstanding cigar value. Gurkha quality and deliciousness at Don "Insert Name Here" prices. Me likey!!!!
