SEO Specialist

Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for optimizing our web properties for search engine performance. As SEO evolves, more coordination with content teams, usability experts, social media professionals and IT resources is required; thus, the SEO Specialist must have knowledge of these areas as well. The successful SEO Specialist will be responsible for SEO reporting, evangelization and hands-on optimization of our websites.

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an SEO subject matter expert, advising teams in marketing and other departments on current and future SEO trends and best practices.
  • Advise (through in-person sessions and the production of how-to guides) internal copywriters on SEO best practices.
  • Work with Social Media teams to ensure that we effectively manage social media signals being presented to search engines.
  • Provide insightful analysis on SEO initiatives that will give rise to continued optimization strategies.
  • Manage Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, including sitemaps, index and crawler status, robots.txt and search console metric reporting.
  • Stay absolutely up-to-date at all times with respect to the changing SEO landscape.
  • Advise internal design and IT departments on usability factors of page/site layout and functionality which may affect SEO positioning.
  • Report with complete accuracy on search engine optimization efforts – including technical measure, ranking/positioning metrics and much more.
  • Utilize Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics to provide meaningful and useful reporting on site activity and behaviors of those arriving at our websites from organic sources.

Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience with SEO (2 years for an online retailer)
  • Experience working with industry-standard tools, such as Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Moz, etc.
  • Solid working knowledge of the fundamentals of other eCommerce channels – including (but not limited to), Content/Inbound Marketing, Social Media, Online PR, Affiliate, etc.
  • The ability to speak intelligently to web design and IT professionals with regard to website design and coding best practices for SEO
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of how to use HTML and CSS – additional deeper programming experience is desirable as well
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Commitment to staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, opportunities and best practices - and to adjust goals and tactics accordingly

E-Commerce Marketing Manager

The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the online strategies and initiatives to drive customer acquisition and increase retention for multiple business units. The ideal candidate is one that has a strong B2C web analytics background, is an articulate, technically-minded individual with good business acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills. He/she must have strong hands-on technical skills with at least 5 years of experience – preferably working with an Adobe Omniture analytics suite. This individual should have experience developing measurement and data driven strategies across all aspects of a direct to consumer e-commerce environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research, recommend and implement new online marketing strategies and initiatives including retargeting/remarketing, affiliates, email and other forms of digital marketing.
  • Oversee all web analytics tools to ensure accurate implementation and appropriate level of exposure, adoption, and utilization for multiple business units.
  • Establish appropriate key performance indicators and develop a reporting infrastructure that allows key stakeholders consistent visibility into overall channel performance.
  • Measure and evaluate all major online initiatives including natural search, social media, retargeting, affiliate programs and traditional media.
  • Develop and implement various quantitative A/B and multivariate tests across multiple web properties and devices by coordinating with design, IT, marketing and merchandising.
  • Make recommendations to internal business teams to continually improve website performance by analyzing client browse and purchase behavior, competitive data and industry trends.
  • Develop, manage and implement a web and email testing schedules. Selection and implementation of an ESP.
  • Perform and analyze qualitative usability testing on new onsite features and functionality.
  • Promote both offsite and onsite activities and also the interactions that build search ranking and quality traffic including SEO/SEM, content optimization, and conversion rate optimization techniques and tactics.
  • Prioritize all ad hoc reporting requests.

Key Competencies/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Business-related field.
  • 5+ years web analytics experience using Omniture/Site Catalyst (Coremetrics, WebTrends, TeaLeaf, or Google Analytics experience will be considered.)
  • Experience in performing and analyzing A/B, multivariate and other forms of web usability testing. Use of Adobe Test & Target a plus. Use of Monetate will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new online strategic initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand business/technical requirements for analysis/reporting purposes interpret data and make actionable business recommendations.

Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate will play an important support role within the marketing team. He/she will have a key role in our social media efforts, as well as actively participate in development, execution and management of a variety of web site, affiliate and online/digital marketing initiatives across multiple business units. The person who lands in this role will be the guardian of our web site presence, ensuring that, at all times, the web sites are accurate, consistent with a variety of active offline and online/digital marketing initiatives, and provides the best possible user experience for our customers and prospective customers.

The position necessitates excellent organizational skills, strong proofing skills, general knowledge of top social media and shopping sites, and good verbal and written communication skills. Punctuality and good time management skills are also necessary to meet deadlines, and a high attention to detail is expected at all times.

 Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
The candidate for this position will support 5 business units. He/she will possess strong organizational, planning and time management skills as well as an attention to detail to ensure success in the following key functions:

  • Serve as liaison with external social media agency for our largest brand, providing internal schedules and images, timely approvals on upcoming social media activity, and other information to support our social media efforts; and ensuring consistency with brand strategy and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain schedule for monitoring and posting on our current social media sites for 2 additional business units, under the guidance of the Marketing Manager and social media agency. Work with appropriate personnel to source content/offers as necessary. Provide results reporting. Respond to customer messages and posts. Communicate with other groups (call center, merchandising) as appropriate to resolve issues.
  • Weekly and daily review of web sites and email promotions for broken links, missing pages, copy errors, pricing inaccuracies, inventory issues, and other inconsistencies that interfere with a positive online experience. Coordinate with appropriate personnel to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Coordinate with design on the development of images and graphics to support our affiliate, programmatic digital display and online advertising promotions, ensuring on time availability and accuracy of materials.
  • Develop, manage and implement a strategy for deal site advertising.
  • Stay on top of new advertising opportunities, features and functionality on current social media sites, and features and functionality, including mobile. Provide timely feedback and suggestions to appropriate personnel.
  • Support and participate in other marketing department processes, analysis and projects as necessary

 Competencies:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (preferably in Marketing, Business or Economics)
  • Highly organized with strong organizational and planning skills
  • Able to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
  • General familiarity with social media and online shopping sites. Experience in social media management from the business/organization perspective is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with team members, as well as other individuals at various levels within the organization
  • Must have strong time management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Understands the need for meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, and knowledge of approval procedures
