“This is a great conversation piece and since I mainly smoke by myself the 1 finger works fine for me. I agree with others that the smoke tends to roll out of the back instead of the stogie. On occassions it does come out of the stogie but for the most part it does not. I enjoyed this ashtray worthy of the best stogies, however while sitting on my couch tonight my little boy fell asleep and kicked it off onto the tile floor below and it shattered! So be aware that a 2 foot drop will shatter this thing to pieces... :( Maybe CI will warranty this thing...”
If I had a nickel for every time someone in our office asked me what I do around here I think I could have retired last year. Truth is, I do a lot of stuff…just please don’t ask me to be specific, that’s all. That said, one of my favorite things to do is to try out new products that have recently arrived on our dock. Most of my time is spent smoking cigars from various manufacturers and working on projects with them as I review new blends they are about to release whether for them or a new and exclusive blend for CI. I know, it’s rough but still, it’s work…isn’t it? Anyway, last week we received a whole container of new and cool stuff and among these new goodies is a brand spankin’ new ashtray we call the “Smokin’ Smiley" ashtray. Now, normally I wouldn’t take the time to write a pick on an ashtray. After all, it’s an ashtray and its job is to catch the ash falling from your cigar, right? Well, this little number has been a stunner since it found a home on my desk. Every person passing by has stopped to gaze upon the wonder that is the Smokin’ Smiley!
What makes this ashtray so special? Well for starters, it is the iconic logo of CI that you have come to know and love…none other than Smiley himself! Smiley, nestled into a black porcelain base, faces outwards and is approximately the size of a softball. He’s hollow and has a spot carved out large enough for you to rest a single 6X60 inside his large yellow dome. But, what really makes Smokin’ Smiley unique is the fact that the cigar in his mouth is hollow allowing smoke from within the ashtray to escape through his cigar!
I know this may come off like a sleezy sales pitch but believe me, this thing is cool! When’s the last time you actually got excited about using an ashtray?!? Never? Yeah, me too…until now!
